Come to think about it, I bet that Angeal, Genesis or even Zack could after a while use masamune properly I recon. Just a thought.
[/quote]

Yes, it is possible.

Perhaps were similiar skills and genetics possessed by another being they might be able to wield it to, and perhaps as efficiently. Although, it's rare to find someone of his similiar strength, so that's why it said "only him". In others in theory it can happen, it just hasn't ever occured yet.

Well. Jenova mimicing Sephiroth was able to wield the Masamune, although it is likely that it was not the original one, since there was already one in President Shinra's body and even this one is probably not the original.

It is possible that the original Masamune dissolved when Sephiroth fell in the Lifestream and, somehow, became attached to Sephiroth's spirit, since Sephiroth was able to conjure it out of thin air in AC.

As for Jenova, maybe her/it can conjure Masamune copies through her/its cells.

It's what Dawn said: The Masamune is so bastardly long, that only Sephiroth has the finesse to wield it with any real power or grace.

In AC, the Masamune is made from Sephiroth's will. This is the same way the Shinentai form their outfits and weapons.

Yeah, I always did find that a plothole--Sephiroth's sword is stuck in Shinra, yet he's (or Jenova is anyway) still running around with it later! I mean, where's the logic in that? It's possible it's just the projections as was said, or copies, and I really loved the image it was, but still, toatlly left unexplained!

I find it more ironic. In CC and BC, One of Sephiroth's jobs is to protect fat bastard Shinra, but in FF7- He kills that fucker :monster:

Well the real Masamune disappeared years ago when Cloud flung it and its owner into the Mako in the Nibelheim Reactor. The real Masamune could be long gone or destroyed.

Jenova mimicing Sephiroth merely created a false Masamune made of magic in order to complete the image of Sephiroth. It's just like the one wielded by Sephiroth in AC. Spirit energy.

I wonder in the next title if the gang will have to find Masamune :monster:

I'm sort of wondering..........Cloud was able to move the sword into his control.......was it because Masamune is a pure sword so a pure minded person could counter being impaled.

I wouldn't have thought so, I'm guessing that's out of determination of some sort. So there's really no back ground to masamune unlike the buster sword... I guess in the end that's a good thing then (even if I find it a little disappointing =/ ) heh, so the only thing that's more of a mystery than sephiroth is his sword.

What's wrong with them fighting both? One winged first and then safer after. But I would like to see a better load of attacks used than in the original game.
Saying about safer seph, I'd really have like to have seen that form in AC, just so I could see it full on graphics style. Of course I knew it wouldn't happen but still.

In a sense, Safer Sephiroth is the One Winged Angel, if we take in consideration the SS's black wing.

AC Sephiroth is a kind of evolved, perfect form of the One Winged Angel.

Maybe, in the remake, Sephiroth could appear with the wing in the spiritual battle after the Safer's battle

There's a remake?

Also, does anyone know if it really was Safer Sephiroth as opposed to Seraph Sephiroth? I like the latter better, but I was told the first is in fact correct.

I'm not really sure, as both of them are appliable. Here's an excert from Sephiroth's page in Final Fantasy Wikia:

It is often believed that the name "Safer Sephiroth" is a mis-translation, similar to how Helletic Hojo should have been translated as "Heretic Hojo". A common rumor is that "Safer" is a misspelling of "Seraph" (???) or "Seraphim" (?????????) due to Safer Sephiroth's angelic appearance. Seraphim are described in the Hebrew Bible as being humanoid angels with six wings: "Above Him stood the Seraphim; each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew". Safer Sephiroth could easily be seen as a Seraphim, with a seventh wing in place of his arm. However, the origin of the name "Safer Sephiroth" is Hebrew; the boss' name as written in Japanese is "??????????," or "S?fa Sefirosu"; note that "safer" can also be transliterated as "sefer," "sapher," and "sepher". "Sepher" (?????) is Hebrew for "book"; thus, the boss's name translates to "Numbers Book," or, more accurately, "Book of Numbers".

Ah, you just know they will remake the game in the end, they just like to tease everyone by saying no. Oh by the way, I forgot to ask if I could join! (Guess it's better late than never lol)

I want them to keep Safer Sephiroth, just because that one's better for a group-based battle.

I would say use the One-Winged-Angel form in the battle you can't lose, but isn't he meant to be really human/weak/etc. looking then?

I like it just being in Advent Children, I suppose.

The remake needs to stay close to the original and not remove anything. At most add, or correct mistakes, but don't take things out.

Like Safer Sephiroth. I highly doubt they'd do something so foolish as that. It's Sephiroth's final form he achieved thanks to absorbing part of the Lifestream and achieving the Reunion with Jenova. For them to leave it out and make it just Sephiroth with one black wing wouldn't make sense within the story. He's not supposed to look the same or like his old self.

That one wing form he has in AC is due to him having another reunion thanks to Kadaj and Jenova's "head." And it's probably his best since he looks more human and "complete."

And the final battle should just be him in his human appearance, and topless. They can add one black wing if they want. It'd work either way.

@Countess Ariadne

He's not suppose to look weak or anything. It's just supposed to be him in the truest sense. And Cloud. One-on-one. Man to man.

Hmmmmmmmm. I like your idea. I would hate for them to get rid of Safer Sephiroth. I like his smexy 7 wings there.

Oh I love it. I particularly like the look in his eyes. It's not crazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzy evil, but a definite confident and violent evil. And the angle of his sword looks most dynamic.

Why do you suppose they gave him silver hair?

I don't know why, but for some reason some of the most loved anime/vidoe game characters have silver hair.

Maybe silver hair is the universal sign of evil in Japan. :duhard:

Jenova's corpse had gray hair as well.
