X-2 has to be my favourite game, ever, of all time. More so than Pokemon and more so than VII even.
I loved many things about X-2. The percentage aspect of it. You could finish the game in under 10 iirc by just playing the game by its skeleton. But you also have the option to play the game 100% to get perfect endings and to understand the whole plot of it.
X-2 isn't without its storyline and this is what I hate most about hates. 'X-2 is just a game with girls clad in bikinis, there's no substance to it!'
wtf yes there is. There's power abuse in a corrupt world, there's body snatching, an 'alternate world', ghosts and the chasing of ghosts, previously hot women giving birth to bastard gingers. There's A LOT going on in X-2, it's just up to the player for once, to play it for what it is. It's the most non-linear game thus far. I kinda didn't like it for it's non-linearity, but I like knowing what to do.. so I bought the guidebook.
X-2 has some of the best music to date because it's chock full of romantic themes and poppy tunes. And who says a poppy tune has to be bad? The two main themes of X-2, Real Emotion and 1000 Words are probably my fav anime songs ever. And if you listen/read to the words of Real Emotion, you learn that it's actually a heart felt song directed towards Tidus/Shuyin. You just completely miss the message of the song because of
Yuna nowait LeBlanc stripping and singing with back up dancers.
But most of what I loved about X-2 can be summarized in
I think X-2 has the most save spots on my memory card so I can replay/watch my favourite cut scenes. Mm. <3
Do you realize how THRILLED I would be if I could write college theses on video games? Damn that would be awesome. A whole lot easier too.
I wrote a highschool thesis essay on the Magic of FFVII once.
And yes I'm srs.
