I have to glue some spare nosepads into my set of spare glasses because the frames are plastic and are always RIGHT AGAINST MY FACE, and am therefore currently browsing without them.

My sympathies, had mine out earlier this year.

Two things:

1) The fact that the two three major bookstores in town don't have any copies of a book they usually have at least two copies of each, and they won't order in a copy especially, as they've already got some coming in as part of a normal order.

2) The fact that the library will no longer be providing headphones from next week due to "hygiene concerns". Well, I'm breathing the same air as dozens of strangers - I count that as a frickin' hygiene concern.

My mum once worked for Holland & Barrett, and they diddled her pay. So I try to avoid it whenever possible… but I checked there Saturday. I was the only customer, so the sales assistant pounced on me like she was high on sugar and cocaine. They don’t stock anything in that branch.

I take it you haven’t been in Boots recently? They’ve ripped out where they did keep the diabetic chocs to install some self-service checkouts (because they get soooo swamped in there…). They have some diabetic chocs upstairs now, but they were all average sized chocolate bars. I’m looking for a box of chocs, as it’s for a couple. The woman at Holland & Barrett suggested Thorntons, but they’re dear.

And it’s a good thing I never named that book I was having trouble getting hold of, as it’s part of YOUR Christmas present!
