I spent at least an hour tossing and turning before I fell asleep, which was mostly consumed by the thought that what I really wanted to do was be reading ADwD. And then I woke up at least an hour before I needed to get up. I'm so sick of this crap.

Oh my fucking god. I have Monday through Thursday completely off this week. Do you think I could stay the fuck asleep to effectively sleep in and enjoy it? Fuck no, since I've woken up early too many days in a row prior for when I did have work. My body has now taken the habit of waking me up at ungodly hours of the morning every single fucking day, putting the cherry on top of the shit cream today by having me awake at the earliest time of the whole week. God fucking damn it. Doesn't help that I can get extremely grumpy and pissed off when I wake up, which is exactly what I'm like right this goddamn moment.

O WELL. There's a good chance said company is going to be my employer for the next six months for an iPhone app that tells people how much the trains are delayed this time, so .

(It's actually a remake of the existing app - the company that made the previous app is fucking them over, telling them that if they want to have features added, they need to have the entire application rebuilt using their internally-developed framework. And the train company - stupid as they are - isn't the owner of the code.

As soon as I saw the number of copies we had of A Dance with Dragons I knew it wouldn't be enough. We had five copies left when I left the store at noon, and we're probably sold out by now. On the other hand, I've only seen the mass market of A Storm of Swords sold out within the last week, but I believe we are sold out of all the other hardcovers except A Game of Thrones, probably because A Game of Thrones is the only one we were stocking more than one of. I'm actually half-tempted to buy a full set of hardcovers, but I'm pretty sure they'll change the covers again before the last volume comes out and I'd want a matching set. These are probably the prettiest set of official American covers that have been released, though.

On the bright side, everywhere else is probably sold out as well, so we probably won't be losing that many sales to our competitors. Powell's Books in Portland, OR was apparently sold out at 5pm Tuesday. You know, the day it was released.

1) Work. Including, but not confined to: (a) when a problem developed with a major customer's ordering system, manager trying to say there wasn't a problem as the fault wasn't on our side (despite the fact that this led to everything being two hours late); (b) colleagues giving me work to do when I really need to be getting on with something else, only to turn around a complain to another colleague that they don't have anything to do.

2) Money. After a lot of faffing around, our boiler's new oil tank is fitted and is now legal. After syphoning the oil from the old tank into the new, it turns out that as it's new, it has to be filled to capacity before it can be used. Mum and her BF don't have the money for that, so I have to take it out of my trip funds. Which were lower than I thought (turned out to be admin error on my part). While I can correct the error, the cost of the oil has pretty much fucked up my trip plans, unless planes to the US cost a good £200 less in November than they do in August.

3) Online tonight. Messenger, TypeWithMe and even TVTropes all being awkward on the loading front.

4) That twisted little nerve inside that thinks my despair over my trip plans being fucked over is the funniest thing ever...

Realising work still hasn't confirmed with me my transfer. I'll be potentially fucked if they don't transfer me because who knows how long it would take to get another job + what they will pay and give me for hours. Pisses me off just because of the ridiculous warning for this I gave them, and they are only now sorting it out.

Just really praying this works out because there's not a lot left to do for the move, I have most of the essentials, I've called the people I need to call, it's really getting close to being all done.
