So I've just got back from a house party, I'm quite sober now but was very, very drunk earlier, anyways its was a party with people I barely knew. I went as a favour to my best friend who happens to know all of the people there through her boyfriend and she didn't wanna go on her own, as her boyfriend is currently in London...fair enough.
Now at the start of the night I got on very well with everyone and was fine, but towards the end of it one guy decided to get aggressive with me. We'd been drinking for several hours and he was really lovely to begin with, but I'd also been warned that he gets like this the more drunk he gets, but he started to have a go at me about where I was from.
First he didn't believe I was from Belfast despite the fact we both were and when I kept repeating I was he got very nasty about where I was and said some horrible things about where I came from within Belfast despite his friends telling him to let it go, leave me alone and that I'd done nothing wrong, basically the night culminated in me telling him to go fuck himself and shove his opinions up his arse before storming off upstairs away from everyone so I could calm down.
It's really horrible and annoying because I've never dealt with anyone getting really in my face and being that nasty to me when they're drunk, I'm used to my friends being happy or silly drunk. The fact he insulted where in Belfast I was from upset me and the fact I felt that I wanted to leave shortly after (which I did with my best friend) because I felt so uncomfortable there with people I didn't know overly well, just feels like it ruined the rest of the night for everyone, the party was wrapping up considering it was about 3am when this happened but its not the terms I wanted to end first meeting a large majority of these new people
