I just think it's rather useless as there's an obvious link to the forum frontpage right at the top left, and there isn't a link back to the main page currently... (Not to mention that the banner says The Lifestream.net & not TLS.net Forums)

That looks awesome Pixel! I say that the sooner we can get the site changed over to look like that, the better.

Does anyone know a way of saving a banner so iy doesnt look like balls?
With the minimal details, i get bits of ugly artifacty bits even when saved as jpg at quality setting 9. And any higher we're looking at a big filesize. And png is way to big.
I think 50kb should be the highest we should go, since it would suck up bandwidth.

I'm gonna get mauled for say this, but tee bee aych, I think the banner looks a tad (JUST A TAD I SWEAR) boring on the right side. You have all this really pretty grafix going on, awesome logo, lil Aeris an everything.. but that line underneath Lifestream, the swirl moves off to the right and gets a tad boring. I think maybe if you had even like, a little bit of light shimmers or reflections or lifestream swirl it'd be good.
But, it's still fantastic as it is, jus sayin.

I think that it's supposed to draw attention towards the name. Too much else would make it look overly busy IMO. Good imagery relies on drawing your attention towards a particular area rather than filling every available gap with something to stare at.
@ Pixel - I think that .png files might be the way to go. They don't degrade the quality of the image as much as .jpeg's do.
