Faith No More - [The Real Thing #03] Falling to Pieces [5:15]

Given Patton's six-octave vocal range, I'm amazed I can actually sing some of these songs.

Fields of the Nephilim - Submission

Stoked for their two sets at Roadburn. Elizium is pretty much my favorite Goth/Deathrock album besides First And Last And Always (and if you count it Closer)

This has to be one of the best albums of the '90s.

Urfaust - Der Zauberer

I hate most Dutch 'kvlt' Black Metal almost as much as hipster Black Metal but Urfaust are fucking brilliant.

Mr. Bungle - [Mr. Bungle #07] My Ass Is on Fire [7:47]

Mr. Bungle has to be up there with other groups like Gentle Giant, Frank Zappa, and John Zorn as some of the most eclectic music ever recorded. Not too many bands can shift styles on a dime this convincingly. I guess it's fitting that Zorn co-produced this with the group.

Solstafir - Nattmal

Impressive. They take the post rock aesthetic combine it with metal and creative some really great music with a truly icelandic feel.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - [2015-04-07 Hamburg #06] Peasantry or 'Light! Inside of Light!' [13:10]

They're already performing two entirely new songs live. Guess we can expect another album in a couple more years at most. I've only heard them once each so far but initial impression was quite positive.

This live recording is excellent quality and is available here.
