I liked Blum's Vincent. It took a bit of adjusting from the Japanese version but after playing Dirge of Cerberus I really liked it. It's a completely different spin on the character, which I thought the same thing about his other famous role, Spike of Cowboy Bebop. Blum's sounds nothing like the Japanese Spike, but it's a different spin on the character that still fits very well, and I think that's kinda cool.

Actually, Blum's voice grew on me after watching DoC with my brother a very long time ago. I'd usually bitch about it more, but I got used to his voice and let me tell you; I don't get used that easily.

There are other voices that I just can't stand thought. I'm not a total Japan whore, but when I see one version, the other just sounds weird to me.

P.S: I gotta see Cowboy Bebop one day, I've heard nice things about it.

I never really tried the English versions of anything because I've had bad experiences with animé where the dub really ruined my image. But Advent Children (and Crisis Core) were both done in a way that it seems like its just the Japanese version with English voices (no liberties taken, no stupid puns, etc) that I really did enjoy it a lot.

In fact, the English version of Advent Children helped clarify a lot because even though I understand quite a portion of the Japanese, the subtitles usually are quite misleading.

Yeah. I didn't even understand half of the Japanese stuff. I was there saying "Huh? What the hell?" the whole time.

I didn't like Blum for Vincent because he didn't fit the character, and Blum being a voice acting whore and all his roles sounding way too similar for my tastes ruins it for me.

He's like a generic VA.

Speaking of English voice acting, a friend of mine with industry connections just let me know that the new scenes for ACC are currently being dubbed into English by the same voice cast that did the original. No word on a possible release date, though.

I really want to see more of Tseng and Elena too.
And more of Cloud Tifa Marlene and Denzel.
Aeirth`s face pls too!

And all the new novellas! Im the Turks fan so I want to read their Case the most.

I would like to see an extension of the flower field scene from "Calling". This one is said to detail their meeting, which they couldn't include in the original version due to time constraints.

Where's that one about the 'expanded calling flowerfield reuinon' from, Haichi? Other than AngelAlex that is?

Also, a personal pet peeve, I hate it when people call the credits sequence 'calling'. Calling is the name of the song that's been around since the 80's. It is a power ballad, and speaks of how you gotta just move on. The credits are not called Calling, nor are they a 'music video' to it. They are an attempt to blend live action footage and CGI. That, and show Cloud returning to his normal life, while Aerith watches on.

Well, some of that 30 minutes is scenes that have been redone, rather than new content. For example, if they redid a good portion of the Cloud/Seph fight, as I've heard, that could be 5 of the 30 minutes right there. Not that I don't love a good Cloud kabob, mind you. :neo:

Ryu, stop denying the REAL resolution to Cloud's story, which comes at the end of the credits, where many are likely to miss it.

The A-team is still better than Avalanche will ever be, so that's not actually a bad thing in my book :monster:.

Flashier fight scenes aren't bad either - AC was, as far as I know, the prime example of how computer graphics can be advantageous in creating new and interesting action sequences, part due to physical impossibilities, part due to otherwise impossible camera angles and actions. AC was actually the first 'serious' animation movie I've seen, i.e. not for kids, and not counting animes. Speaking of, whilst the action in some animes is often awesome, they're also often very choppy and whatnot, whereas AC's were more fluent and, dare I say it, realistic outside of physical and scientifical impossibilities.

Pushing those boundaries moar is a Good Thing in my book, and I don't really care if it's not in line with the game(s) or whatnot, :monster:.

I actually don't - how much extra playtime are we talking about anyways? half an hour? fifteen minutes? Just five?

I'm kinda pessimistic about the actual amount of additional scenes, so yeah.

Okay, seriously, that'd be fucking stupid. And Cloud never "met" Aerith in the flower field. He just drove by it while Aerith watched. The AC script even details that it was just Aerith watching him move on.

While they seem to have created at least a few more seconds of exposition for Zack, I wonder how they are going to deal with Aeris. I would look forward to some more Aeris screentime but it probably won't happen.

I'm also excited to see how Cloud gets out his little, um, "bind". I mean, stabbed through the chest and everything. How will he get out of that one? Will Sephiroth just retract it or will Cloud pull some circus trick?

I'm so easily entertained that even if only 5 minutes are actual added footage I would freak out. I look forward to the whole movie itself actually.
