ICO was fun, though. I had some trouble in a couple spots but for the most part it wasn't so bad. :monster:

Finished Persona 3. Now I want to try Nocturne... hopefully it's not too difficult to find it for a decent price online. In the meantime I might try to get back into Odin Sphere - I kind of abandoned it because I'm awful at controlling Mercedes.

Escort missions and all missions of their ilk have plagued video games for far too long, imo.

Truth. However, I'm probably a huge hypocrite because I enjoyed ICO - the king of escort missions and the game that most likely boosted their popularity :monster: ; it was stressful having to leave Yorda alone, but when her and Ico were together her AI was pretty competent. I think it's when the AI is suicidal (which is in most games, it seems :awesomonster: ) that escorts/rescues become astronomical pains.

Mercedes was the most fun for me to control. I'd use that attack where she sends a wave along the ground, and then got closer to pummel the enemies while they were laying on the ground. Fighting the big enemies was fun as Mercedes because instead of having to jump, I'd just fly and shoot.

I had the most trouble with Cornelius. I eventually got used to him, but the first time through I was pretty terrible.

I'm playing Nocturne and Chrono Trigger DS right now.

Playing DMC4 on my own 360. This makes the third time I've played through the game.

It is win.

Manti: either, really. She's feckin' hot. Not as good as Roz, obv, but still.

Hebdo: you win the awesome cup. I'm ALSO playing Covenant. I assume you're on one of the fights in Chapter 2? Is it the one at the execution ground?

But everyone's loli for Etna. :monster:

In your opinion, is Disgaea 3 as good as the first? I'm not feeling too grabbed by the second, TBH. I may have to go back to The World Ends With You until Friday 4th September (UK Dissidia release).

Of COURSE we are! Except Etna's HOW old again? A thousand six hundred something years? It's like she says in the game, it's not her fault she's flat-chested! ;.; (for anyone else reading this and getting the wrong idea - no, seriously, that's what Laharl calls both her and Flonne in the game, and that's what they say to him)

I've not played D3 yet - no PS3 ;.; But I've HEARD that it's really good - better than the second, at least as far as the game systems are concerned. dunno about the story or the gameplay. But keep on plugging witht eh second one - trust me, it's not as bad as you think. You're not allowed to stop playing until you get
Laharl and Flonne
to join your party :D

To be fair to Laharl... that's kinda a compliment, as he reacts badly to voluptuous women... XD And in Disgaea DS there's a Prinny commentary which says that Etna's age of one thousand, four hundred, and seventy (I have the script to hand thanks to intarwebz :3) is equivilant to fourteen.

Hmm, I was mostly concerned about story/dialogue... but, yeah, don't worry I will (with Disgaea 2)
and I hear that you can get an ending where Laharl just blows everything up
.

I love when Laharl tells Jennifer "get that sexy body of yours away from me" :monster: And I still say ~1400 is plenty old enough :P

That's correct, there is EXACTLY such an ending xD

Awesome. :awesome: And we really need to start a Disgaea thread or we'll get old off for spamming this place up with just Disgaea stuff.

...I'm still playing Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories, Disgaea DS (Etna Mode) and The World Ends With You. My poor PS3, I only use it for BluRays and a PS2 game. :monster: Pity my Action Replay doesn't work on it, though...

Marvel vs Capcom 2. Pretty epic, although I'm kinda dissapointed that all the characters are unlocked right away, cause now I don't have much to play through for...

I popped in Call of Juarez just now. It's fun fun, but the gameplay itself feels sluggish and syrupy. And I'm not specifically aiming at the relatively slow reload - I can live with that -, but the slow movement and such. And the visuals somehow fuck with my eyes. And the aiming's difficult, but maybe that's just me (i.e. I'm getting old, :monster: ).

Not playing Nocturne anymore, because my cousin begged me to let him borrow it.

Then two days ago, my copy of Digital Devil Saga 1 came in, so I started playing that. Four hours in, and this game is really awesome.

Working my way through Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume, as well as DMC4 (for the third time) and I've just started messing around in Gears of War 2 (I've only played Horde, though, so far, and only by myself...sad when I can't quite make it to level 3, rly).

Started watching the anime film of X yesterday. The film confused the hell out of me, but it made me pull out my copy of Nocturne/Lucifer's Call. Samael is awesome. :awesome: A Fusion accident gave him "Attack All", "Avenge" and "Pierce". Muhwa-ha-ha...

Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift.

Finally mustered up some patience to download a decent DS emulator and amass a collection of ROMs.

It's a decent game, the plotline's weak compared to the last game. Though to be fair, I've yet to go knee-deep into the total depth of the plot so it's probably too early to say it's a weak plotline. It just didn't start off as strongly as the last one.

The gameplay's fundamentally the same. They made minor adjustments to this one. The implementation of the new "Opportunity" feature which supplanted the "Combo" feature from the last game was an okay touch. There's that and the laws are less restrictive and the opportunity to issue a privilege (i.e.: boosting your characters' power, agility, speed, or luck skills) is a very fair move on that aspect.

All in all it's a bright refreshing game so far. Very addictive, quite like the last one.

Finished Call of Juarez 2, and it would've been better if they would've managed to make the cutscenes (which are rendered in the in-game engine) better and more believable. But that's a common flaw in a lot of games, the only game that's done it right so far is MGS. And that chick was an irritating one, make up your damn mind and grow a personality, ffs.

Am now going to give Eve Online a try, see if it too is composed of grind or if it's got gameplay elements or interaction that distract from that :monster:.

Thus, spent most of my day on Eve. It's intriguing and has potential, if I can overcome the grind, :monster:.
