Just saw your edit on that post, and have to agree. It seems I sorta mixed two ideas together by mistake when I made this thread title. My bad. I'd change it, but as far as I know I can't do such things. What with not being staff and all, ya know.

I would also like to add a sticky post to the front page detailing who has or has not signed up to the League, but don't know if can/how. Its fun suddenly wondering about things you've never had a need to look into before... no wait, not fun. It actually makes me feel slightly dumb to admit I have no idea how this stuff works. Oh well!

Alright folks, necroing this thread now to announce our official ranking tournament. We've delayed a fair bit, due to real life problems hitting a few of our members. After some discussion with Tiff, we decided we will not be holding the tourney until September 30th to give everyone time to finish up gathering their chosen pokeymanz and train them properly. She was also kind enough to assist in drawing names out of a hat to decide the first round of the tournament, presented below:

I'd like to join, buuut, I don't know what kind of group I'd want to do. Grass might be good, if I can get a Bulbasaur. I already have a pretty awesome Liligant. I also really like Gardevoirs, so maybe psychic... But then I have an amazing Swanna, with a pretty good Carracosta as back up that I could start a water team with. I can't seem to make up my mind though. What do you guys think?

Alright, so that brings us up to 6 people. You get till 9/30 to choose your theme and train the mons for it like everybody else of course That gives us an opponent so that Tiff isn't seeded in the first round, bringing us to:

Updated the first post once more to include our full roster thus far and such. I still need Friend Codes for our resident Ice and Steel masters. Also just remembered, we have no rules set for use of the Wonder Launcher as per sending out restorative items and stat boosters and such. Do we wanna outlaw that entirely (the game provides the option of turning it off), impose some sort of limits on it, or just go with the limits the game itself sets (that being each turn charging the Wonder Launcher and a differing charge for items being required to use it, with more potent items needing more charge)? Discuss!

I tend to agree, and recommend just setting it to off during official league matches. Anyone in favor of keeping it at all? Speak up people, if not for Tiff and Clicky I'd feel as if I were talking to myself in here (cause I totally was at one point)

Epic deeds were done this eve. Using my Dark-type team, I beat the Elite Four and Champ of Unova. With just the mons in my sig I took down that asshole Marshal and his all Fighting team, then Alder. Even with the Elites featuring Psychic and Ghost specialists, I impressed myself with that one. I respect the Elites much more now, seeing that yes it IS possible to win the big matches while using all one type.

I'd happily join, but I use a varied team and lack a second DS to trade stuff over from my Gen 3/4 games, so I can't put together a reliable theme team.

You'd be welcome Drake. We all used varied teams while playing through the game I'm sure (for instance my favorite line up consists of a Blaziken, Staraptor, Glaceon, Luxray, Slowbro, and a Garchomp) so we're all having to work at it some to get the hang of a theme. Lacking the ability to utilize the Pokemon Transfer Lab does suck of course. I can understand not wanting to totally start over training any mons you could just transfer in otherwise, even if you did get them traded over to you and such. But if you change your mind and wanna sign up, just let me know. Until we hit an even 12 trainers, the door is always open.

I took the liberty of putting you on my maybe list. Crossing my fingers in hopes that you'll join up so I can move you to my confirmed list. I like your taste in mons, I've used every single Pokemon you listed at one point or another. I just bred my Breloom to get a baby Shroomish (by the name of Bardock, no less) for Clicky Person to train up and use on her Grass team once he evolves.

I also have Absol and Weavile trained up and waiting on the bench for rematches, with Hydreigon of course on my main team. Sorry your possible type choice is taken (ok no I'm not cause I loves my Dark-types ) Let that be a warning to anyone who is considering joining but not actually doing it, join now or you could lose your type choice!

So yeah, you should totally join up if you can get what you need man. If you want Fighting for your type, I have a male Lucario who knows Aura Sphere, Metal Claw, Brick Break and Earthquake just waiting to make a Riolu for you. Plus all members of the Hitmon-family, should you want a Tyrouge (or more than one) to train up.

In other news, we are just 18 days away from the tournament everyone! If you have not given out your Friend Code, we will be needing it soon! Anyone who does not provide said code by the 30th will forfeit in the first round!

I'm actually gonna go with Flying, I've got three I can use and can find a good fourth and fifth. If you've got a Skarmory or Charmander I could take off your hands, it'd be appreciated. Unless we're allowed to have team members in the theme but not of the type, ie, Volcarona? :p

I cannot give up my Skarmory, as Epee has been with me too long to give away lightly. But I have a Ditto, and where there's a Ditto there be eggs. I don't remember if Omega had Skarmory lined up for his Steel team or not, or what opinion was on overlapping mons if he did. Either way, I'll breed you one just because I'm cool like that

With the way the battle rules work this generation, instead of a level limit being set you need all your mons at or above level 50. And if for some reason you cannot be ready by the tournament date, don't worry too much about it. We'll be fighting the tourney with varied teams to establish rank, not our actual Gym Teams. Plus, part of the concept is that Gym Leaders can challenge each other or the Elites in order to change their rank later on, so even if you have to start as the very first Gym Leader challengers would have to work on, you could always move up the ranks later.

So, I'm once more sleep deprived and rather loopy because of it, but I am just now remembering the question of overlap between Pokemon on our various teams. How strongly do we want to prevent instances of two members using the same Pokemon? For instance, Bisharp is both Steel and Dark due to its dual typing. That'd make it be available for Omega OR myself to use. I'd prefer my team be distinct from everyone else's if I can help it, but I dunno how the rest of you feel on the issue.

In case we do end up wanting to prevent overlap, my main Gym/Elite team is the one in my sig, consisting of:

Ghidorah the Hydreigon
Lenore the Honchkrow
Punkette the Scrafty
Spiny the Cacturne
Brenda the Zorark
Betty the Sharpedo

And speaking of discussion of undecided issues, anyone else want to weigh in on the Wonder Launcher issue? If not, the consensus so far is to switch it off for official matches.
