How come Cloud and the others could hear the cry of the planet?

You can also hear the planet way up on the Highwind. ;) It's hard to say if they gained the ability to hear the Planet- 1. Who's to say it was or wasn't 'crying' before FF7 2. It's unknown if other civilians (non-player characters) can hear the Planet. But Bugenhagen certainly taught them...

    Vincent x Yuffie - A Laborous Love

Oh, so that's where they were~!! :awesome: It's cute when you have to explain to the newer fans why they weren't in any of the FMVs/ending. I don't blame 'em too much for being confused though, later installments of the Compilation assume you recruit both Yuffie and Vincent. And yay, another...

    Vincent x Yuffie - A Laborous Love

And just barely! When they encounter each other for the first time in DOC, he barely recognizes her, until she introduces herself. And even then it's like "oh... Yuffie... (let me try to get up and out of her even though I'm kinda fatally wounded)... :shifty:"

    Vincent x Yuffie - A Laborous Love

I agree. I really don't have a 'canon' pairing that I like with Vincent. I'm still on the fence about Lucrecia, even. I don't like how Square wrote her with him at all. But I won't get into that here... :P I think a lot of people based this whole Yuffie/Vincent pairing off their interactions in...

Vote for the most memorable moment of the Compilation of FFVII.

They even subtly reference the '500 Years Later' scene in Red's OTWTAS story, which I thought was a cool little touch.

    Vincent x Yuffie - A Laborous Love

Agreed. I think a lot of fanfic writers just have this attitude of "lol, opposites attract!" and think it works. But then again, it's extremely difficult to find a well-written Vincent fanfic, period, let alone a pairing, and ESPECIALLY in a pairing as odd as Yuffie. I think I've found exactly...

    The 'Mysterious Test 0'?

I remember reading about the Test 0 thing in the "Ultimate Unofficial FF7 Guide", back when FF7 first came out. They had a big disclaimer saying basically, "We played an early version of the game, so there's no guarantee you can even find this in the American Version." Plus they said something...

How come Cloud and the others could hear the cry of the planet?

Yeah. There's nothing that says anyone else can't hear it. It's kind of like how people today hear about "global warming" and "you should recycle" and such -- in essence, "you should care about the Earth and your impact on it" -- and some people heed the warning, and others don't do anything...

    Rufus Shinra's dinner party

Eat in silence, but to most, a feast for the eyes. Nice deal. :P

How come Cloud and the others could hear the cry of the planet?

I believe I found the Ultimania source: Credit: http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/psx/file/197341/42137 Seems like it's the author of this document's (not the Ultimania's) analysis, and not something 'canon' as presented in the actual Ultimania text.

How come Cloud and the others could hear the cry of the planet?

So it's knowledge from the Ancients through the Materia, not exposure to high levels of Mako energy that could cause them to hear the Planet's cry? If I'm recalling the events of the game correctly, the first time they hear the cry of the planet is when they visit Cosmo Canyon for the first...

How come Cloud and the others could hear the cry of the planet?

But wouldn't there be extremely high levels of Mako in/around Mako reactors, as well? I'm reading the game script, and from that it seems like it's just as simple as Bugenhagen taught them about it, and told them what it is, that's why they can hear it.

How come Cloud and the others could hear the cry of the planet?

If exposure to Mako is a reason, then a lot more people would hear it. I guess there's nothing that says nobody else hears it, either...

How come Cloud and the others could hear the cry of the planet?

This is what I would say is the closest thing. I wasn't joking about them not being able to become Cetra so easily. If you could just become a Cetra by doing something (someone said by visiting the Ancient Capitol), why would Shinra be so adamant about keeping Aeris, since she's the last of the...

How come Cloud and the others could hear the cry of the planet?

They all have these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGXEEafY6f4 I don't think they all became Cetra so easily.

    Rufus Shinra's dinner party

If I was going the fangirl route, I'd go with Cid and Vincent. I'd like to think we could sit in a far corner and be snarky. :P Just for the sake of being interesting my other choice would be to sit between Dr. Gast and Dr. Hojo. Imagine the things you'd hear between those two?

    Gaia?

This is one of the factors that some fans fear might be lost if it's made all srs and realistic-looking. I like all the over-exaggerated expressions/poses/motions, personally.

    Gaia?

It's like Bahamut NEO's attack, where it raises a piece of land up and it incinerates the land, but after the attack, there isn't a big hole in the battle ground. I always liked summoning NEO in weird places where that logically wouldn't work- such as the train bridge in the Corel Mountains...

    Gaia?

Of course it's an illusion. Basically the attack causes the sun to explode, where it engulfs and obliterates both Mercury and Venus. Then the sun continues to grow until it's at the toes of your characters. If that was real, they'd all be incinerated because... it's the freakin' sun. :P I do...

    ChaosBringers, Reborn!

I watched an episode of Wolf's Rain yesterday. I could neither pick out Blum's voice nor get into it. Another of the characters sounds like someone from AC, but I can't figure out who. I was looking through some fanfics yesterday... boy some people have some, uh creative imaginations with their...
