I think the game makes the boys night out the priority if everyone's affection rating is equal and too low. I think you maybe need a blue in at least one person in order to trigger their standard date, and then probably a light blue to get their intimate date.

Moreover, aside from LTD stuff, I find it incredibly disengenuous to tell other players that their playthroughs are somehow non canon. If a playthrough doesnt make sense, that's a failure of game design. I think Square Enix knows better than to dig themselves in that hole. Even the workout...
