My PS3 is now connected to the internet via my PC, I had to tick a check box. THAT'S IT?! I spent hours changing setting and trying to connect previously and ticking the right checkbox was all it took!?

Christ I'm thick. :wacky:

My nerd rage at not being able to get Catwoman is subsiding now, my PS3 is downloading an update, then I can create a PSN account and get hacked my assholes. :shifty:

Quite correct, but it still sucks balls. I've no objection to people buying new (instead of second hand) getting the best stuff but it should be available to all. Needing an online pass to get 100% of the game just punishes those who aren’t online.

LOL well at least you're online.

That trailer looks pretty good actually, :awesome:. Lots of baddies, good scripts / writing, that kinda thing. If the gameplay is as enjoyable and less repetitive as the previous Batman game, it'll be a winner.

Some of the location specific combat moves, like where Batman slams thugs into walls are absolutely amazing looking.

So, this game is amazing so far. I played until about 4 in the morning, and am anxiously awaiting the end of my shift at work (7 hours away).

Non-spoilery feelins so far: Catwoman kicks ass, and I would gladly play a game with just her if the gameplay is kept the same. Her movement is ridiculously enjoyable, and her combat is great too. In fact, Combat overall feels fantastic, and the larger moveset it noticable when fighting. The Thief/Detective Vision is really well managed, so it feels like there are times to use it and times to avoid it.

Getting into the swing of Arkham City has been... stressful (in a good way). In Arkham Asylum, there's a bit of safety in knowing that you're in a prison, even one overrun by inmates. You can sneak and wander about areas from time to time, whereas in Arkham City, there's shit happening EVERYWHERE, all the time and you're constantly being hit with more information. That being said, I've finally gotten to a point where I feel like I can wander about and do some side-missiony things, and oh my god, once you get the hang of things it's absolutely brilliant.

I'm not even very far along and the story is already absolutely complete and utter raving madness. I'm going to be a hermit until I beat this.

Agreed. It was a bit of an overload at first, but once you get the core gameplay/how the world works down, it's beautiful.

Bruce literally gets his ass dumped in there, and would be mildly overwhelmed for a moment trying to figure out where to go and what to deal with first.

Also- Are you able to counter the little in-game scenes that aren't relegated to cutscenes? If so, that TOTALLY makes my day. For example,
did she kick you in the face, or did you toss her to the ground? I hit triangle, and Batman tosses he to the floor, but I'm not sure if that happens automatically, or if it changes the action.

EDIT: Also should we use spoiler tags like "Progress: Announced Villian" to mark where we're at if we want to discuss gameplay without risking someone reading something that they haven't done yet?

I loved that intro. having to fight off Penguins goons while cuffed and as Bruce. And Im not sure about Harley, but when Pengiun goes to punch you, I wasnt expecting it and he punched me 2 times, didnt seem to have any effect tho.

Oh yeah. BEST way to dive into the chaos of Arkham City, and puts totally different things in perspective with Strange. In the Penguin fight, I caught his hand and twisted his wrist, not (quite) breaking his hand. It totally lets you adapt to the situations differently, which is wicked, and I'm gonna keep my finger on the triangle button. Also - did you see Deadshot taunting you among the prisoners you pass at the beginning?

Just beat it.

My jaw is on the floor.

Gonna start the Riddler and other stuff tomorrow. Can't wait to see when someone else beats it, so I can discuss it.

I finished it at 4AM and had to be up for work at 8, haha. I'm hoping that you aren't TOO exhausted to make a little post when you complete it, since your post's ~an hour old.

I spent about 4 hours playing it when I picked it up at midnight and I'd been playing it from when I get home at ~6-8PM until 3-4AM the last two days. ^^; That being said, there are still 3 villians I haven't even encountered yet who come up through side missions, and I've done less than half of the Riddler's stuff.

So, I'm not going to post any of the videos of the side missions, as I want to run through and discover those on my own, and you havne't necessarily discovered them if you beat the game, so I'll avoid posting about those. That being said, there's some REALLY intriguing and very spoilerish information going around on some of the forums that I needed to bring up. I present to you the
• Ok, to start things off, here's a rather surprising alternate ending if Catwoman takes the cash and abandons Batman:

• It seems that miss Harley Quinn had another reason aside from just avoiding, "getting blood all over her nice, new outfit" to avoid any serious direct combat with the Dark Knight during Arkham City.

• There's also a bit where you can visit the location where your parents were killed that I didn't actually run into during the game:

• Apparently you can find some remnants of Scarecrow.

• If you can't figure out which person you're missing in your Bat Computer Personnel Data, here's everyone (some people only appear upon completion of their side missions, so possible spoilers even if you've beaten the game).

• There are a list of dates on the wall in which you can visit Calendar Man for stories if you want to accomplish his list. Since it's a rather bothersome thing to go about, here's a video of all the tales if you CBA to go about date-manipulating your console, or don't want to wait a full year to see them.

• Perhaps MOST interestingly, there are secret radio messages that you can find on your Cryptographic Sequencer that have rather interesting coded messages for the Dark Knight, and hints of things yet to come. IGN has a video of them, and I made a pretty lengthy post on how they were found and what the last one may be.

I didnt look at all of that stuff, but...
Well damn at that alternate Catwoman ending :/ I feel bad for people who walked away their first time lol And oh shit Harley's preggers :O

About the actual ending tho, I was genuinely shocked when they "killed" Joker the first time. Then went fuck yeah when I saw it was Clayface :D I was NOT expecting that. And yikes, that they actually went and killed off Joker. Tho there's the missed call during the credits, I dunno how the hell he survived.

I think that the missed call was supposed to have been one of the ones that he left just before you went to the Monarch Theater, hence the "received 3 hours ago" prior to it playing.

The "fuck yeah Clayface" moment was excellent. :D I really liked how it felt like a very conflicted victory in the end because of how much Batman lost.

Spoiler for those who completed it:

Makes sense that if Mark Hamill wanted to stop being Joker that they'd kill off his character as a way of ending his run. You know rather than just having a different VA take it over, let Hamill end it properly. Also Joker singing at the end was awesome. :awesome:

The song really tells you that Joker really would be lost without Batman, and it was a great 'last moment' for Mark Hamill's Joker. :D
