Avatar: The Last Airbender & Korra (SPOILERS)

Another thing I really like about the series is the fast-paced plot. While there may be some people who think it is too fast, they need to remember that a several weeks to a couple months have already passed in the show. It is already the beginning of winter in the show when they likely started sometime in the fall/late-summer. I hope Asami is not left in dark of the vents of this episode for too long.

I wonder how the giant mech plans from the episode 1 freeze-frame shot (this one: http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m1m3rh5z0B1qb59nf.png) will play into Amon's plans?
Perhaps he is trying to amplify his Energybending (like) powers or something? Like being able to energybend without physical contact to the victim?

i feel so bad for bolin

on the other hand i can't be upset with korra because who knows what she got as far as friendly interaction back home not to mention potential romantic interaction?

and i still don't know why korra likes mako: he is rude to her in the first episode, and he asks for her help and they have one of those sleepcute moments and??? she likes him because plot says so? idk

What a stunning, lovable, adorable, AWESOME mess of a love trapezoid that episode was! I L.O.V.E.D. every minute of it!

The opening was great: the FFs (Fire Ferrets) have improved and their first match was a sight for sore eyes.

Jinora and Ikki were... well, adorable. Ikki's version of events did happen... in Sailor Moon, though. :P

The "date" between Korra and Bolin was very enjoyable as well. They're bros, end of. Too bad for Bolin that Korra has the same ideas: bros.

I think the Korra x Mako relationship is handled really well. And it just reinforces my initial thoughts of Mako's character; he simply doesn't show his true feelings easily. That doesn't mean he doesn't have them. He simply sucks in showing them. Sounds like a chocobo head I know...

Tahno was an enjoyable douchebag as well. With a sexy voice. Also, "private lessons"... IS THIS REALLY A CHILDREN'S SHOW???? oO;

Mako is Katara: confused about his feelings towards the Avatar, having many love interests. Let's see if history will repeat itself, like with Aang and Katara.

Bolin drowning his rejection in noodles... good metaphor for alcohol, there. Speaking of which... I'm sorry, but I could never take Bolin's crush on Korra seriously. It was obviously played for giggles and Bolin's reaction in the Makorra kiss made me sure: he acted like a five year old. And no, I'm not criticizing him in the slightest. The guy's just honest with his feelings (striking contrast with Mako here) However, the creators chose to show this particular reaction and it was surely comical, even though yeah, Bolin did end up heart broken.

And the resolution: I really, really REALLY liked how they handled the whole situation. They're a BIG mess, but this mess does help them in the end: everything's out, and we progress from here. We're not douchebags, we're simply very confused teenagers, trying to figure out how things are going.

I think it was a really good episode in the emotional/relationship avenue, even if the relationships were not romantic. I loved Mako and Bolin's relationship, too. No girl will separate them. And Korra IS their friend and they won't lose her because they are in their mess.

So, maybe the pro-bending took a backseat. Amon and the Equalists were not even brought up. However, all three, Korra, Mako and Bolin progressed and were explored as characters. And that's more important than anything in MY book. :)

About Asami... I have some theories. Mostly involving her being like Zuko in terms of story and journey, but... I'll keep them to myself and see how things develop.

So, yeah, good episode. Let Amon crush the tournament in the next episode, whoo-hoo!

what sailor moon did you read cause in the version i read everyone died at least once a season/storyline. twice, sometimes, for good measure.

and someone dated a horse. there were certainly no rainbow love potions and cloud eating with spoons. :awesome:

“No, no, no! The best way to win a boy’s heart is to brew a love potion of rainbows and sunsets, which makes true lovers sprout wings and fly to a magical castle in the sky, where they get married and eat clouds with spoons and use stars as ice cubes for moonlight punch, forever and ever and ever!” -Ikki

Not gonna lie, it popped into the head. :monster:

P.S. Don't take this seriously.

The episodes go fast, they have to. And if we go by that logic than Asami being with Mako is even less credible, I mean she hits him with a moped and they go on a date XD

There's definitely more to it than that, though basic attraction to someone is normal, and Korra asks Mako out to know him better(when she's turned down)

The way I see it, Korra is interested in Mako for his ability(she heard him on the radio remember) and I'm guessing his looks as well. He does know how to praise people, he calls her a natural at the end of the second episode after all, that and they search for Bolin for 2 days and a night. Wherein he tells her about himself/his family situation/part of the reason he's the way that he is, and they develop a bond when they save Bolin. I'd say that's plenty for someone to start liking someone else, it's shallow at first but that's how relationships develop. Plus these five episode have been over the course of a couple of weeks maybe even a month or two since it goes from fall to winter

Mako's attraction to Korra is for the same reasons, she helped rescue his team, his brother and him on occasion. Though he is a very conflicted character. While everything makes logical "sense" with Asami, it doesn't line up like it does for Korra. His attraction to her is there but he doesn't want it to be because it doesn't make the most logical sense for him and he's with another girl at the time.

In the end they're all just hormone crazed teenagers. :awesome:

Oh, well then I suppose you could try sites like
watchcartoononline.com, I don't normally direct people to illegal streaming sites but because of your situation I think it is okay to make an exception.

For anyone interested in unaired episode speculation this tumblr post gives a decent basic analysis of a compilation of remaining unaired episode scenes:
http://halfempty15.tumblr.com/post/22492889137/compilation-of-remaining-unaired-korra-scenes

There were some pretty interesting ones that I had not seen before and/or forgotten, like Tenzin showing up to the pro-bending arena and fighting in some unknown location; or Bolin, Mako, Asami & Korra trying to ride Naga all at once, but she ends up dumping them.

Just watched episode five. I actually really liked this episode because I felt like it was making a statement. A decidedly anti-shipping statement. :P

I imagined Mike and Bryan with troll faces the entire time.
