Doctor Who games confirmed for Wii and DS

BBC Worldwide have announced two new Doctor Who video games for the Nintendo Wii and DS consoles.

Doctor Who: Return to Earth and Doctor Who: Evacuation Earth are currently being developed for the Wii and DS respectively. Asylum Entertainment, who previously worked on videogame versions of Peppa Pig and Scooby Doo, will develop the titles, which will be released in the UK this winter.

"We are incredibly excited to be collaborating with BBC Worldwide on these two new games," said Asylum Entertainment managing director Simon Bailey.

"It is our firm belief that the franchise has massive potential on the Nintendo DS and Wii formats and it's an honour to be bringing Doctor Who video games to the show's huge fan base."

The BBC have recently released two out of four planned Adventure Games featuring the current incarnation of the Doctor and his companion Amy Pond, played by Matt Smith and Karen Gillan. The title of the third, TARDIS, was revealed last week, and will be available for download for PC and Mac in the near future.

Because the PS3 and 360 controllers don't match the shape of the sonic screwdriver? :monster:

Yeah but the playstation move controllers also look like they could be used as a light up dildo if needed.

I just saw it advertised in a shop. I can completely see what L/Castiel was talking about.

I walked into GAME yesterday to visit one of my mates who used to work with me, they had a lifesized cardboard cut out of the people using the playstation move.
One customer walks by and comments on how attractive the obvious 6 year old girl holding the glowing vibrator looks then walks away into the center.

My lady and I have a friend who does some acting bits, so he's trying to find out where it's being done and find out if he can get a bit as an extra, (and possibly get us in too). :D :D :D

I had a friend with a similar connection to the show while they were casting Matt Smith. She was not happy when they said that Matt Smith was their first choice as the Doctor. They'd had some serious big name actors go for the role, but didn't take it, due to schedule clashes.

Especially as one was Chiwetel Ejiofor (OKA the Operative from Serenity). What might have been, eh?

Right to left, Richard Clark (director) Steven Moffat (showrunner/lead writer) Matt Smith (actor), me (writer of episode). I do not know why Matt's head and mine are dissolving into light.

What would you like to know?

Actually it doesn't matter what you'd like to know, all I'll say is that the table read was pretty amazing, the guest star or stars will be fabulous, Matt's great, Arthur's wonderful and I never got to say hullo to Karen (who was amazing).

I had a meeting after the readthrough with the producers and director, pinpointing stuff that needs fixing or clarifying ("So we need to change that without making it longer or spending any money. Right."). But nothing that needs rewriting is anything other than cosmetic, and I should get it done tomorrow or Thursday.

(Favourite quote from S. Moffat: "Look, you understand that, and I understand that, but we're Science Fiction people. The other 100% of the audience may not get it.")

The plan is still that it's the third episode of Next Season's Doctor Who. In case you have no idea what I'm talking about.

Supernatural’s Mark Sheppard will star in the new series of Doctor Who.

Sheppard, who plays the demon Crowley in the horror drama and has also appeared in Warehouse 13 and Battlestar Galactica, was due to attend ValleyCon36 last weekend, but had to pull out when he was offered a role in next year’s series of Doctor Who.

“We had just booked Mark’s airline tickets a week ago,” announced the event organisers in a statement. “Less than 12 hours later he got the dream job of any kid who grew up in England – and many kids here too. He landed a huge role in the new Dr. Who…”

Doctor Who is shooting in America in a Utah desert for the sixth series’ two-part opener. The Doctor, Amy and Rory travel to America in the late 1960s where they receive a secret summons to the Oval Office. It is believed that Sheppard will play a role in the opening episodes.

Doctor Who will next air on UK screens on BBC One, Christmas Day, before returning for its sixth season in spring 2011.
What they forget to include is: he was Badger in Firefly.
