Doctor Who games confirmed for Wii and DS
BBC Worldwide have announced two new Doctor Who video games for the Nintendo Wii and DS consoles.
Doctor Who: Return to Earth and Doctor Who: Evacuation Earth are currently being developed for the Wii and DS respectively. Asylum Entertainment, who previously worked on videogame versions of Peppa Pig and Scooby Doo, will develop the titles, which will be released in the UK this winter.
"We are incredibly excited to be collaborating with BBC Worldwide on these two new games," said Asylum Entertainment managing director Simon Bailey.
"It is our firm belief that the franchise has massive potential on the Nintendo DS and Wii formats and it's an honour to be bringing Doctor Who video games to the show's huge fan base."
The BBC have recently released two out of four planned Adventure Games featuring the current incarnation of the Doctor and his companion Amy Pond, played by Matt Smith and Karen Gillan. The title of the third, TARDIS, was revealed last week, and will be available for download for PC and Mac in the near future.
