I recently finished a rewatch, sans the Christmas Special, and it surprised me (again) just how much Clara is a lot more likeable on a second viewing. I still think it's time for a new companion though.

Someone got really giddy editing the title.

As much as I like Clara, I think we may be due a new companion soon as well. I love Jenna in the role, but it does make me wonder how much more character development we can get out of her. It has been turning into the Clara Oswald show rather than a show about the Doctor (which I don't mind, as her character has been absolutely vital to introducing us to the newest Doctor) but now we need to see more Doctor-centric stories.

Hayley Atwell says she wants to play the Doctor.

Okay I wasn't sure if I wanted a female Doctor before but it it's Hayley Atwell I would be all over that. Give this woman any role she wants.

Of any potential options, I think that she's my favourite suggestion next to Tilda Swinton -- who would be awesome for completely different reasons, but yeah. (I think it'd be interesting if they went with that and made the Doctor a lot like Clara after some big event, and he makes himself that way to emulate the things he respects about her as a companion/person/friend/etc. though depending on what we find out about Pompeii that might be a good route to take).

I've fancied Tilda in the role, but thought she'd never do it because she's such a busy woman these days. However, I'll take Hayley any day.

I've never been fond of the idea of a female Doctor but for Hayley I'll make an exception any day.
