I can't tell if this means you think the people who wanted a 1:1 remake will look silly, or the people who said this game would satisfy that desire will?

The people who want a 1:1 Remake already look silly. The people who think that EC even remotely scratches the itch look even sillier. EC looks like a mobile tie-in game, which it is. As a way to access the Compilation it has appeal, but as a remake of FF7? Hell no. It looks like the happy meal toy version of an actual furby. The flat, isometric maps already look so much worse than the imaginative paintings and angles of the PS1-era FFs.

I don't whether its sure thing Ever Crisis is using isometric maps/graphics, but either way from what's been shown so far, I'd personally say that the Ever Crisis backgrounds and environments look nicer than the OG's PS1 pre-rendered backgrounds. Though I might change my mind when more footage/content is shown.

EDIT: Should staff move this post to the Ever Crisis thread?

They see Tifa and Barret after the second bombing mission, which means platefall happens later that same night for them. The fight with the centipede robod appears later in the day, and if I remember right the blonde guy mentions rumors of the plate dropping in the Japanese version of the trailer. Chapter 2 might start around the time the attack on the pillar is happening? I'm just wondering how they end up in deepground.

One theory i have... Does anyone think the blonde guy gets his info from Caith Sith?

"A younger version of a certain hero ... and even other characters who will appear in the next installment of FF7R will be present as well" is said in regards to the First Soldier part of Ever Crisis. Is it just me, or did he low-key confirm Vincent for the next part? I can't think of anyone else old enough that I'd call a "hero". Or wait, maybe it's just the Sephiroth thing they mentioned.

no, this is ridiculous. He only sees one, that's the story you experience in your game, based on your choices and behavior. They should not have shown them all.

The fact that they don't contradict each other is why they can all be canon. But "your" Cloud did not wake up three freakin times in one night. Come on now. Anymore than he went on a date with Aerith in the Gold Saucer before going to his room and going out again with Tifa.
I say they all three happened because all three dates get referenced by the characters at one point in the game

I don't know if it clears much up, but this was the translation provided by SE:

“The first one will be a new episode we are working on that covers the story behind Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier that was announced at the same time. The events of Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier take place around 30 years before the Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis main story, and go into the founding of SOLDIER, so it goes without saying that you will see some of the legendary heroes in their younger days, as well as younger versions of the future Shinra executives and other characters who will appear in the Final Fantasy VII Remake sequels.”

Sephiroth has always been called the "hero" of SOLDIER, given his legendary status as the strongest Shinra veteran of the Wutai War.

I'm certain they're referring to that, especially since Nojima is writing that short story about him.

Not sure why the English site put "hero" in plural though.

Probably because if some of the original chapters will take place 30 years in the past, Sephiroth won’t be featured during that time period, unless one expects a little infant Sephiroth to be out in the war trenches.
So other characters who were adults who can also be called heroes will likely be featured in the 30 years ago parts.
