Tidus sees a ball about the size of a blitzball, so runs up and kicks it... and it explodes. Yuna gets thrown back by the explosion.... along with Tidus' head, which lands by Yuna, with a surprised expression or his face. She promptly passes out.

Yuna resurrects him using pyreflies, but if Tidus realizes what he is, she's worried he'll disappear.

i realise now that a lot of the basis of that idea i seem to have made up in my head but i was thinking that it wasn't necessarily a conscious thing. i mean, would a shoopuf be able to preform some kind of set summoning process? (that is also another thing i just made up, i don't theorise about this stuff much and when i do i just seem pull things out of thin air ) but if the sketch at the end is tidus' new look then it seems he has some jecht influence there.

I think your idea makes MORE sense now... if he's thinking about Jecht and trying to be a bit more like him, that's all the more reason for him to accidentally call him/Sin forward.

I can imagine them wondering how Sin has returned and then Tidus has this breakdown because he realizes it was his fault.

I have doubts about the first part: saying 'it's been two years since the Eternal Calm began' (paraphrasing the hell out of it) makes it sound like the audio is taking place two years after FFX. I think this probably should be leading on to the next part about getting a new life (FFX-2, which is two years after FFX). He has one year with Yuna, which puts it 3 years after FFX.

Yeah, I agree with caution on the rumours. It's more like elements of what's coming out are true but people are blowing it out of all proportion, misinterpreting things, and running away with it

Apparently from what's coming out now, there are apparently two different plot threads a) Tidus/Yuna on the island and b) The past - female summoner/male guardian/male summoner, male summoner is now an unsent and Yuna meets him later on the island or something (or she meets him earlier on the island, he explains everything to her, and how they used to do it in the old days, and what she might have to do if something happens to Tidus again, which might go towards helping to explain her attitude to Tidus while they are on the island, etc )

I am kind of confused but I think what it means is that female summoners might have needed to have sex with male summoners/vice versa to create fayth (Yunalesca rule)/ancient time rule, not that Yuna had to have sex with Tidus's ded headless body to bring him back or whatever else others are posting/running away with elsewhere, you don't have sex with the fayth/the person becoming the fayth/is a faith but with another summoner, of course this begs the question did Yuna have to do that now this time, or did she find another way.

also potentially calling nojima and politely asking what he has been smoking

after ffx-2 and last mission i don't feel like ffx needs any more, but maybe it should have been obvious when they announced this audio drama and novel. they closed up everything by the time ffx-2 international was released.

i'll reserve final judgement until i see it for myself, but i'm kind of wishing that they had just released the hd version without this audio drama or novel. just left the story as it was.

Wow ... it's terrible the extreme Yuna bashing/slut shaming, etc that is going on at places. It's like the concept of a flawed Yuna is a horrid horribly horrible thing!

OK so I listened to the audio drama, and I actually (to my own extreme surprise) really really liked it? It seems a bit more "grown up" in terms of what the characters are actually saying. I found myself really liking Chuami actually. She's a bit of a bitch but she has her reasons.

There's no doubt in my mind that they're going to butcher it for the English release somehow. I mean the official English subtitles are already there, but I don't see them allowing "big breasted mayor" and "big breasts, bigger attitude" to be said by the English voice actors. I'm sure they'll just replace those lines with dilly dally shilly shally for our delicate western ears.

However, I need to read a translation of this 2.5 novel like right fucking now, because apparently it's a fanfiction level of bad that has the internet in an uproar and it's that more than anything else that's pissing people off. I mean that Wiki description... can't be right, surely?

The adult themes seem so radically different to the FFX world I'm familiar with. Even if it is a more mature storyline, that difference alone is off-putting. To illustrate my point, perhaps with such an extreme analogy for it to be false, imagine in a new season of Bob the Builder if they had a character called Peggy the Prostitute. It just wouldn't be Bob the Builder any more .

Well, that photograhed page from the book definitely speaks of Tidus's head being blown off in front of Yuna before she passes out, so consider that confirmed.
