I agree although I must admit the new item world thing that just launched today is very refreshing and fun enhancing your weapons.

I have no idea myself how to do that Bushido freedom trick thing either.

In terms of the superbosses. Half of them I haven't even attempted because despite having really good teams and set ups I still get wiped out half the time.

I still haven't got Nichol yet, I'm so sad about that I really want him for my team

Passat he's very very good
Managed to get raegen during a free pull last week, a decent enough DPS type and has a nice debuff attack also. Though it confuses me why he isn't a dual wielder as standard.

What do you mean not a dual wielder as standard?

Yeah he's more of a support/secondary dps unit but he's a very good chainer I've borrowed a few friend versions of him from time to time to see what he's like, he's pretty cool!!

Like you can only equip him with a single one handed weapon at a time without equipping dual wield as a skill. Just seemed weird since his character design is two swords XD

Wait hang on where are you getting that from that he doesn't dual wield without the skill equipped?? Reagan's already got Dual Wield as an innate passive trait from the get go.

Hmmm mine won't let me equip more than one one-handed sword 0.o

Soooo...News seems to have gone back to Tuesdays again, the Star Ocean banner looks really cool though and I'm trying to work out how many tickets I'm going to be getting from the lapis I've spent on summons but I can't be certain, I know I'll be getting at least 10 of the 3* tickets and 1 of the 4* tickets at least.

Well I kinda assumed with the new Rain version in the banner he was going to make some sort of appearance again and I thought it was too cliched that he would be Hyou but the way he came back was really cool! Also I thought Yuraisha's death was kinda sad I would have loved to see more of her and I can't believe how everything is tying in together with Raegen and Rowen's pasts and Lasswell's heritage

I really like the story, a few translation errors still yes but it's actually a good story, kinda reminiscent of some of the older FFs and JRPGs. One thing I really like is how this game has come into it's own with it's stories and events, granted there's been quite a lot of issues with the game in terms of bugs (can't craft any of the adventure abilities without my game crashing) and a lack of communication from the developers, but the story itself and the events they release that delve further into character backstories are really great and really interesting. My favourite so far was definitely Ruggles', Bran and Lunera's story, that really got me in the feels!

Well shit, so I did the final step of the step up banner, I had 5k lapis to spare and I figured why not its coming to an end. 2 Reagan's! was not expecting that at all!

I've read he's the best TDW chainer, but that TDH chainers are the best now in the Japanese version. Issue being, I have no clue what those initials mean . You are tempting me to use up all my lapis with that step-up thing to get him

I used it because I'd gathered loads from completing the story and the anniversary rewards, I've read comments from people who've got nothing out of it so it's totally your choice the last step has a 5X increased chance in getting him though and I thought I may as well finish the step up wasn't expecting 2 of him though but yay for 7* Raegan when he arrives, wish I'd had the same luck with Nichol though. Because I have Chow as a Magic Tank I didn't need to do the Rain banner either so I decided to do the step up banner instead.

OK TDW I think stands for True Dual Wield as far as I know it's a fairly new thing and I think is to do with certain weapons or skills that get increases in atk if you have Dual wield equipped so Raegan being a natural Dual wielder probably would be the top one.

TDH I know stands for True Double Hand and I know a littl bit more about it. Basically Cloud's Buster style or Elfreeda's Marshal Glove are examples of things you need to get this going and Cloud is an example of a TDH unit (I can get mine to over 1300atk currently with the right set up so he's an amazing finisher in certain situations) it's different from normal double hand as the attack increases if you have either a weapon thats single or 2-handed like The revolving Saw weapon as opposed to doublehand that only works on single wielding weapons. Apparently Hyou and Jecht when he gets released are must have units for this.

Honestly now though apart from not having Nichol I think I'm set for units now so I'm gonna start saving my Lapis for a while now that I've done the step up banner.

So erm...returning tickets for the amount of Lapis you've spent in the game came hrough. If ever there was a way to make me realise how much money I was putting into this game during my first year and a bit in this game (I stopped spending on this game about 9 months ago except for the fountain of Laps bundle when it rolled round) well that's made me all the more glad I don't do it anymore.

Where can I use these tickets? My normal ticket numbers haven't gone up, so I assume there is a special place to use 'these new ones? I've looked everywhere.

The banner goes up in the next few hours it's a special banner you can't hoard the tickets either you have to use them all by october AFAIk and it includes units right up until 26/7 there's no rate up so it's a bit of a free for all in really hoping I can get a Nichol at least from mine

Please for the love of God tell me they will allow multiple ticket redemption. I have far too many to do individually!
Learnt something interesting today also, turns out if you have a dual wield character the arm you select a weapon to be in affects the overall stats of your unit. Generally any multiplication of damage output is done based on whether you use your left or.right as your main arm.

Yes you can multi summon up to 50 at a time thank goodness I thought I was going to have to spend about 2 hours summoning today. I'll be doing my pulls when I get back from the vets today.

Also yes that's correct about the weapons, always equip the highest attack weapon in the r.hand the damage output is always better.

Ergo did you sort out your Reagan Dual Wield problem?

Well, I got Reagan the other day, but only one of him (*sadface*), and I got Lotus Mage Fina today. Woohoo! I've read that Reagan teams up well with the ice lady chainer person, so I'll have to try that out.

Fryevia? I have her as my main friend unit so chain away if you want to practice it. Also congrats on Raegan :his great master is awesome btw.

Congrats on Fina, obviously for her healing abilities but also cause her Sacred Burst and Arch Punisher are fab damage dealers, they scale of her spr so get her SPR stat nice and high.

Trying to find folk on Reddit to help me.do the 3* Espers now as I literally have zero units that can tank magic damage and I don't have 100% evade on my noctis either.

I'll put Chow up as my friend unit after the weekend for a couple of days if you like, he's an awesome magic tank, good counters, I'll pop elemental covers on him as well so he can soak up some elemental damage I'll let you know when I change him.

Well my ticket pulls were really good, I got 8 rainbows out of my pulls my 4* tickets game me nothing so they all came from the 3* ticket, my 1st and second Jake, My second Veritas of Light, my 2nd Mateus, my 2nd Atoning kain, my 3rd Ace, my 2nd Onion Knight and my 3rg Gilgamesh, sadly Nichol still evades me but good haul and a few more units ready for 7* now.

Tidus is great congrats on him,I haven't tried it out myself yet with mine but I've heard he's unreal with a fixed dice TDH build it's all the reddit ever bangs on about with him.

Edit: Well I just used one if my summon tickets from the raid and pulled Rena the more sought after 5* on the banner. I had a read up on her she's not a bad healer BUT her limit burst is on par with Nichol's and she's a really good buffer. So if I can't have him I'll settle with her

FFVIII units are finally here. Was waiting for them to turn up. Surprised it took 2 years to happen .

7* units are also here, and my preconceived notions about their upgrading seem more simple in comparison to whatever was described in the "brief" (ie: not very brief) given . I don't want to permanently fuck up some unit by doing something wrong .

Edit: Just got me the 3* Golem esper. Woo, what a rush . Now to get Ramuh .

The game is roughly following the JP schedule for releases so the FF8 units came out around the same time at their 2nd anniversary, so it's not so surprising, I do love a good FF banner though especially because they don't come around so often anymore.

I think it's not as confusing as as you think for 7*, basically merge two 5* units at max level (6*) to get a crystal (prism) to awaken them to 7*, they start at level 101 but it takes 120 million exp to get them to level 120 so hope you've started getting your cactuars together. Merge another 2 of the same 5* unit into the 7* unit to get their 100* super TMR.

I've quite a few ready for 7* the first batch though Orlandeau and Lightning for now are mean to be the go to units.

SMTRs are definitely whale material though
