For the tech enthusiast people, here are some rundowns of the most of the advance tech that the game will have.
A battle demo from SIGGRAPH 2016, mostly a technical presentation rather than a demostration for entertaiment.

My guess is cinematics models for FF7 remake have been in the works for a while by the CG team, alongside Kingsglaive, so they had Diamond weapon's model on hand to have a cameo

I mean, I know that. I wanted to see it in a cinema with other people who are as obsessed with FF as I am.

It's almost as if Square was burned badly with a movie release in cinemas at one point, :awesome:

like, 15 years ago.

Even so, they lost an enormous amount on it, and those losses led to restructuring. I doubt if all the DVD sales and TV airings up to now have even made up the difference in investment and return yet.

Squaresoft was having finantial trouble long before The Spirit Within Bombed.

Obviously they were desperate and even Spirit Within(which I like, believe it or not, I have the movie on DVD), wasn't a success back then. Can't believe it's been 15 years already.

They did a bit better with FFVII: Advent Children(Love that movie).

Maybe they'll have a bit of better luck with Kingsglaive. I mean, come on, how many animated movies get 49 other companies to develop it, voice it, release it in just one year? This is the first time I've ever heard a CG animated film to be released in just one year of development and normally creating an animated movie(both traditional 2D and 3D) takes three years.

Even so, they lost an enormous amount on it, and those losses led to restructuring. I doubt if all the DVD sales and TV airings up to now have even made up the difference in investment and return yet.

I don't know if you heard, but the film itself, after just three months of in cinemas, it'll be released on DVD and Bluray in mid-October if I remember correctly. Normally that takes four or five months to stamp a movie onto DVD.

It sucks that Crowe seems to have a relatively small role in the film.

Oh well! Still gonna cosplay her! :reptar:

Also, kudos to both Liam and Andrea for having FFVII as their first FF game and being familiar with FF as a whole. That's always awesome to hear.

One would assume that London would be the obvious European release, but, well... :awesomonster:

No one wouldn't, the UK is on an island off of mainland Europe and they (arguably) want to get out of the EU asap :monster:. Nah, for Europe they should do a release in all capital cities. Or just a normal release, it's not like playing a movie actually costs the cinemas much money, especially since it's all digital these days. If it's shit, just run it in a smaller room at some stupid hour. They should do that with older movies too, imo. I wouldn't mind watching e.g. a LotR marathon all by myself, :monster:

Actually I think they did a marathon a while ago, I should check. Maybe they'll do it again later this year. I'm intrigued now. But I'd only watch the LotR bit, not the Hobbit beacause it's just not the same.

To anyone curious, here is the list of all 50 companies that collaborated in the making of KINGSGLAIVE (source):

Sweet. Love how its such a collaborative effort. I have no doubt the movie will be a hit. It may even reel in non FF fans if word of mouth spreads quick after the release (provided the English version gets good reviews)

I remember saying that very thing 15 years ago prior to "The Spirits Within" being released.
