Decided to just go ahead and get Prison Architect in the Steam sale. Early Access but you can't go wrong for £3.99.

The Steam sale has a bit more than 24 hours left to run. It's the "encore" now, which is basically a collection of some of the most popular daily sale prices from across the campaign. I'm tempted to get Skyrim for 3,74€, even though it's Windows-only, because that's a ridiculoud price for such a good game. I can probably run it in Wine.

I just went a bit mad with the Steam sale and bought:
Amnesia the Dark Descent (4,02€)
Slender: the Arrival (3,99€)
Five Nights at Freddy's (3,34€)
Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons (2,99€)
Castle Crashers (2,99€)
Civilization III complete (1,24€)
Civilization V complete (9,99€)

The whole sale made me regret my decision to buy a PS3 a bit. It's quite shocking how much cheaper most of the games are for PC compared to the prices of PS3 games. But I can't go back now, plus I'm probably going to be more than happy when I finally get the console. Also I already own games for the PS3 (and a controller) so a new computer can wait. :P

ANYONE WITH A VITA

I just snagged a 64GB Vita Memory card for £60 including expedited shipping from play-asia.com. Considering a 32GB card costs £70 in the UK, this is a fucking steal.

I doubt it'll arrive before I have to go into the hospital (it'll probably arrive while I'm there tbh) but hey ho I'm excited for it. I'm finally going to get some use out of the thing now that I don't have to worry about space constraints (I'm on a 8GB card at the moment - death, absolute death).

EDIT: As of right now £62 (which is the payment including shipping) is $102 in monopoly money.

i spent all my money replacing my ps3 and some other stuff so i have no money for this :sadpanda:

Biggest draw for me is FFIII, it's the only FF I have never played and so I feel like I should have it. ...But I also don't have a huge desire to play it, so I don't know if completeness is reason enough to spend money on it...

I've played it - specifically the iOS port. I got so bored but it might be because I can't stand using my touchscreen to control games.

There's a big Final Fantasy sale on the PSN store this week :awesome:

EDIT: Just noticed VII is conspicuously absent, must be because of the port they've got comin' up? Can't think of any other reason they'd leave it out

Bastion (first game by the same guys who made Transistor) is on sale for 75% off ($3.74 USD) on Steam for the next 2 days. Including the soundtrack version which is $6.25 USD. Go check it out, you won't be disappointed.

Yeah, day 1 is not impressive. GTA 5 is playing dirty tricks, adding some bundles with idk, some card? and older games and putting those on sale for the full price of GTA 5, with the game itself in between there at regular price, just so they show up as having a sale. Not impressed, :monster:

Some games have had their prices increased just before the sale, so that it shows up as them having lowered the price too - beware. Also that is actually illegal in some countries (like the UK).

That is shitty behaviour. I'm not too worried about it, though, since I tend not to buy games (or anything else, for that matter) just because they're cheap; I know what I want and I know how much they normally cost.

Yeah, same; I already played GTA 5, and for the sale, I'll only get the really cheap shit anyway, and only if it appeals to me :monster:

Also also re: GTA 5, of note is that that DLC thing (the shark card, whatever the fuck it is), is immediately consumed upon starting the game - exempting the whole purchase from Steam's new refund policy. Do not buy; shop around elsewhere for a cheaper version if you really want it for PC, right now. I'm seeing a minmimum price at €45, or €37,99 for the PS3 version. But those are still on the high side; if you want GTA 5, wait until Rockstar stops cashing in on what already is the biggest money-maker in gaming history.

GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas are in a bundle right now for less than £5

lol, y'all subjective'n. :monster:

Sure, most of it is probably B-grade dreck at best, but there are a handful of gems out there, eg. Darkest Dungeon with a ton of polish and a lot of time invested into its development.

Darkest Dungeon is especially a great example of an Early Access game worth buying - the core gameplay experience was fully-functional and pretty much content complete on release and everything after that has been rebalancing and the addition of extra characters and stuff like that.

Plus, it has Lovecraftian undertones, which is fuckin' cash. :monster:

^^ That's how Crypt of the Necrodancer and Viscera Cleanup Detail were/are. They were definetly worth the $5 I got them on sale for anyway...

That's just the problem - it's hit and miss, and if you don't bother to look beyond the product page and intro video, you'd be quick to remember That One Shit Early-Access Game (DayZ) and Nevar Again.

I dig KSP and Space Engineers though, :monster:. Although I've long gotten over the last one, I prefer my games to have goals beyond my own imagination. It's why I haven't bothered with Minecraft for years - yeah sure, more animals, more items, funkier mechanics, different biomes and shit is all fun and shit, but it's just sameish. It's like adding different-looking gear to MMO's without adding a dungeon, or a weapon to a shooter that already has a billion weapons, or yet another hero to <insert MOBA here>.

I'm still tempted... but at the same time I think it could drop below €5, because I'm cheap, :monster:

But it's 4,99€, that is below 5€. :monster:

I don't think it's going to get any cheaper than that in this sale.

Nor I - it's regular pricing is $20, an it's not likely that they'll drop it below 75% off :P
