Last Film You've Seen

You don't have a movie theater near you?
I do, but there's only 10 screens, and the next closest theatre is about an hour an a half away.

We dont really get much of the more independent, art house type movies here. I was amazed when we got Splice and Let Me In. But even then they only played once a day for a week or 2.

I fuckin hate living in a small town, I have to wait for shit like Black Swan, Buried, The Road, etc. to come out on dvd before I can see it >_>

Ahh just rob em off the internet, then when they come out you can pay for a rental. No harm done. :monster:

ON TOPIC:
Splice 6/10

It couldnt make up its mind what kind of film it wanted to be. Either a horror of some sort of soft feelingsy thing about what it means to be human.

I give it 6 because of Adrien Brody
getting it on with a bald fish/bat/guineapig woman that looks like Bjork

I watched the last half hour of Pretty in Pink while I was trying to fall asleep yesterday. But the last movie I properly watched was Observe and Report(:3) like a week ago, I guess.

Not too bad, actually. Could have done better than their damsel-in-distress though. Not a completely useless damsel-in-distress but still, compared to the kickassery of the games, a bit disappointing.

Muppets Christmas Carol - first time I've actually seen this. Not as good as Muppets Treasure Island, but Michael Caine is brilliant as Scrooge. Animal's small role is hilarious. XD

Stranger than Fiction - I've been meaning to see this since it was in the cinema. O_o Anyway, I loved this film. It wasn't quite good enough to be one of my favourite films ever, but it was excellent. The premise was good, the principal actors were good (with the usual question mark over Will Farrel - he always seems to be Will Farrel), and I wept a bit at the ending.

The Dark Crystal. It was crap and I turned it off 30 minutes in. I will stick to Labyrinth, that's a class film.

Black Swan - Excellent movie but oh my god they're all fucking nuts. ALL OF THEM.
Lesbian scene was hot though :awesome:

King's Speech - So. Fucking. Good. I want to marry Colin Firth right now. One of my all time fave movies.

I finally took the time to watch Secret of Kells (streamed off of Netflix)

That was an amazing movie. The animation is so simple looking at yet, it works so well and is just beautiful to look at.

Enchanted

A true affectionate parody - while it makes fun of some of the cliches of the genre, it also builds itself on those same cliches. Although, some of the "twists" were predictable -
Nathaniel turns against the queen! Giselle chooses to stay in the "real world"! Nancy runs off with Prince Edward!
- it didn't subtract from the enjoyment of the film.

Knowing James Marsden primarily as Cyclops in the X-Men films, though, it was odd to see him smiling so much...

Yeah, so, this shit is fucking mental. I was talking to a mate about it on MSN and he actually said 'You are making this shit up'. If that's a recommendation then I don't know what is. This is a bold, silly, sexy, gory movie and every time you think that it can't get any more ridiculous - it manages to one up itself (so obviously it comes as no surprise that Eli Roth makes a cameo appearance).

Also there's an underwater lesbian sex scene and particularly hilarious turns by Christopher Lloyd as someone who is essentially Doc Brown and Ving Rhames as a cop who single handedly takes the fight to the piranhas with an outboard motor.

I mean, there's no way I can call this an objectively good movie. But that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the hell out of watching it.

Not to say it wasn't awesome but I have an issue with editors playing something more than once in a scene just because it was awesome.

It's like FUCK SUBTLETY HAVE A LOOK AT HOW COOL THIS SHIT IS

Partially the reason that I wasn't a total fan of Ong Bak.
