Despite the fact I've never been much of a baseball fan this movie was still really enjoyable to watch. Brad Pitt does an excellent job and the supporting cast is all very solid.

Really enjoyable film. It's interesting to see lots of older camera techniques, and the jazz transitional music use makes it feel like an older film. The fight choreography is really well done, and an excellent way for Gina Carano to make her debut.

This. Film.
Just finished watching it and let me just say it was incredible. It's basically the story of a girl and a boy - and their relationship - who live on opposite ends of the world. They fall in love but living three-thousand miles apart has its huge hardships. I need not go further than that.
All you need to know is that it really tugs on ever heart-string. Very inspiring and breath-catching for an Indie film.

'Course being in a three-thousand mile long-distance relationship, I'm kind of bias. Go watch it for yourselves.

Saw the new "Underworld" yesterday. Not as good as either the original or "Underworld: Evolution," but not terrible either. Feels incomplete, though, as it's an obvious set up for the next one.

Kind of leaves you where the second "Pirates of the Caribbean" did, but without the sting of betrayal that came with following up such an amazing first movie with utter shit.

What it did with the setting was kind of the logical direction to go (unlike that complete waste of time, "Rise of the Lycans") -- ordinary humans being brought into the war, and responding to the existence of the other species with a hunt-them-to-extinction hostility. Seems like more could have and should have been done with this, but maybe that's being saved for the next one.

I should also say that the action is the best this series has seen, though 3D really doesn't add anything much to it, so don't bother paying out the extra bucks for it. I'm serious, don't.

Finally, Kate Beckinsale looks as smoking as ever.

I just saw this, and I feel like it's setting up for another 2,3,1-style trilogy
It ends with them looking for Michael, which looks to lead to another larger conclusion, like we saw in Evolution. This also mentioned the Second Purge 6 years earlier when the Lycans originally had an uprising, which might make for another Lycan-centric prequel film.

While I rather liked Rise of the Lycans (though I'm totally biased, as Lucien was my favorite character from Underworld, and I was really just glad to have a movie that fleshed out his story). I think that the way that the series moved forward in an interesting way/direction, that I look forward to seeing more of.

I'll also agree that there's really no advantage to seeing it in 3D, and the action was easily the most excellent so far.

I've got no words to describe this movie. Lately I've been watching movies from TV and man, I sure loved this one. It had me on the edge of my seat the whole time, wondering how the protagonist was even going to get out of the mess. Nicholas Cage & John Travolta = Epicness

Always worth seeing a film with Liam Neeson being badass, and it's Super intense. Worth staying through the credits too, which is always appreciated.

I love, LOVE this movie. The humor is brilliant, the characters endearing, the acting wonderful, the story deep and more relateable than ever and the message is so wise.

And, of course, it has the best ending in history.

Gina Carano isn't much of an actress, but I think Steven Soderbergh hides her flaws very well. I should note there are a few scenes where she shows a bit of potential. However, being supported by such an awesome cast, you don't really expect much from her other than to come through physically, and she certainly does. The woman is a badass. Period.

You really can tell that she's been an MMA & Muay Thai fighter. I love how unabashedly brutal the combat is but it's still visually appealing, and doesn't ever feel staged, like a lot of Hollywood showy combat. I really hope she ends up getting more good roles that help showcase her strengths.

Ideally: Wonder Woman.

She does need some acting lessons though.

Hopefully this (definitively) kills any American remake of Akira from ever happening.

It's a spectacular story about a few teenagers getting telekinetic powers, and what happens as a result. Unlike a lot of superhero films, where the powers suddenly change you, this film does a great job of showing how the powers just accentuate who they already are. It's also a spectacular example of how to make a "filmed by the characters" genre film really work well. I'd seriously recommend going and seeing it.

Not seen this, I have to say that the trailer for it here in the UK made it look a bit stupid, like it couldn't make up its mind whether it was supposed to be funny like Hancock, or serios biznz and it left me a bit whelmed. I guess that's just down to bad editing.

Anyway, from what you say it sounds worth a look.

Last film I've seen was Man on the Moon, which I have seen before but as my mum likes to say 'thats a good little movie that is'

And also, it just goes to show what a great actor Jim Carrey is, he has got Kaufman's mannerisms spot on, I think the only time I've been more impressed was Eric Bana in Chopper, which if you've seen Chopper talking in real life its unbelievable how close Bana got.

I'm going to see it tomorrow with some friends but I already read the plot and some reviews and the concept of the movie sounds interesting. Except
the black dude looked hawt, why did he have to die halfway through the movie? Although I can't say I'm surprised black guy almost always dies first. -_-

I saw Purple Rain today, in an "archive" cinema that only shows old stuff. For five euros I time I've been to see a Monty Python film, two Woody Allen films, and now a Prince film - it's a great place. Not the first time I've seen it, but the first time I've seen it on a big screen. The audience were really into it, clapping along with the final song and applauding the credits. I haven't witnessed that since the third LOTR film was in the cinemas.
