Also, I think the pre-party sessions where you catch up with squadmates are actually limited for each Citadel playthrough, because on my first playthrough I completely missed out on encounters with Vega, Traynor and Garrus (but I got all 3 of those for my renegade femshep the next time around).

So, Ms. Chastity Shepard went to hire a krogan. After Mordin seemed happier by the presence of Garrus in the pro-human Cerberus organisation, she decided to take some other aliens with her.

Namely, Mordin and Garrus. A salarian and a turian should put a krogan at ease, right?

Sienna made me pick Garrus as my date to the Casino. He is our active romance for this femshep playthrough but DAMN I wanted to pick Wrex so much. Definitely replaying and choosing him.

Wrex comment has to why you didn't pick him as your date is hilarious "Didn't want me as your date Shepard, what happened? Too much krogan for you to handle?".

This'll totally expose my ignorance, but I'd like some clarification regarding DLC, please. Specifically, does it only have to be downloaded once, or does it have to be reactivated (or whatever) for each career?

On other news, one of my friends got the first ME way back when, but never got around to completing it. Since I started playing it, she's been thinking of digging it out and having another go. I've suggested we have a dual playthrough, where we co-design a Shepard, with a few differences in play style (e.g., one male, one female; one paragon, one renegade; different careers; etc).

^When you download the DLC, it's part of the game (on the console/system and account it was downloaded on). It doesn't have to be reactivated with different playthroughs or anything, as long as it's from the same person's account. i.e. I'm Prince-Lex on PSN, someone else signing in on my console wouldn't be able to play it.

To be fair though the only distinguishing dialogue between the different companions in that segment are the introductory scene (which is a couple of lines of dialogue, more if they're a romance) and their "distract" dialogue.

Liara's:

Liara: (Southern accent) Uh, is there somewhere ah can go to make a pri-vaht call? It's verray important.

Liara can also pretend to be an agent of the Consort, promising the guard a meeting with Sha'ira. In-context, given the asaris' mostly-undeserved reputation for promiscuity, Liara is taking advantage of that misconception and essentially promising free sex.

Garrus':

Garrus: Can you tell me who calibrates the odds on your machines? I never seem to get a payout.
Guard: I'm afraid that happens to be confidential, but I'd be happy to provide you with a free drink instead.

Garrus: Excuse me, can you tell me where the bartender keeps the hard stuff? Like say, turian horosk?
Guard: I'm sorry, sir, we aim to entertain our guests, not put them in a coma.

Javik's:

Javik: You, human. I require your attention. I am a Prothean. What do you think of that?
Guard: Uh huh. You're the fourth one I've met this week. Though your costume is better than the rest.

Javik: In my cycle, games of chance were punishable by death. Your customers would be executed.
Guard: Your... cycle? Do you need a place to park or something?

Javik: Human. I met your ancestors long ago. They were living in caves, throwing rocks at wildlife.
Guard: We remind guests that some of our drinks do contain hallucinogens. Please drink responsibly.

James':

James: Hey, Pervo. Did I just see you staring at my chica's ass?
Guard: I assure you I wasn't, sir. I'm not even sure which lady is yours.

Wrex's:

Wrex: I need to look in your kitchen! I'm a food inspector!
Guard: Uh... I need to see some credentials sir.

Wrex: You don't have to call for back up. I'm just looking for a game that isn't crap.
Guard: We, uh, like to be prepared, sir.

The person that posted that on TvTropes forgot Tali, shame on them. Also by far Javik is the funniest one distracting the guards.

Chastity is bi-polar or something. She kept going from hard-nosed to buddy-buddy while talking to Commander Alenko on Horizon. Actually, she's like that with nearly everyone... It's not cos the person playing her can't commit to a full Renegade path, is it?

I could never go full Renegade either. I just want the bad ass lines and the right-hand triggers. But the good news is the Renegade/Paragon penalty is mostly nullified in ME3 since the total reputation is (usually) the deciding factor.

They never really fixed the Paragon Renegade divide since they were still very, very polar dialogue choices and decisions.

It's the worst in Mass Effect 2, where for a lot of end-game choices you could only make optimal choices if you were extremely paragon or extremely renegade. They fixed that in Mass Effect 3, but a lot of renegade dialogues and choices are less Dirty Harry, anti-hero, and more along the lines of borderline evil and cold-blooded.

In my case if I buy a DLC for my PS3 or the xbox my little brother can also play them on his accounts.

So, Kasumi and Miranda are loyal. And Jacob, Grunt and Mordin are lining up to be loyal.

I think that Eclipse Captain got under her skin with that comment about her "whoring around" in that outfit. The loyalty outfit is less revealing.

Speaking of that captain, I made sure she got hers. Full in the face, at almost point blank range, with the Collector Particle Beam. Full barrier, full shields, full health, stripped away within half a minute. Nothing but dust in the wind.

I had Miranda wearing her other outfit the whole game so in her loyalty mission when the Eclipse Captain made that comment it came off as funny and a tad hypocritical.
