I really appreciate that article's point about cynicism being the in-thing now. We need another morally conflicted anti-hero like we need a Kaiju falling on our houses.
Sure, "Breaking Bad" and the like are good shows, but, goddamn, how much shit like that do we need? Yeah, we all live in the shades of grey, but it's a spectrum that blends to create that. We all have our darkness and our light. It's really not a bad thing to highlight a focus on the positive things we can achieve when we make the effort, which is why I will always appreciate "My Name is Earl" more than "Breaking Bad."
