Welcome, VanWinkle! Nice to see another Jessie/Clessie fan. I hope she's alive, too, and until SE states otherwise, that's what I'm going to believe.

I saw that vid a while back, chewie, but I don't know how they were able to record them in 4k since the PS4 Pro doesn't allow video capture in 4K, only 1080p. I'm still gonna post my screenshots, though. And did you know that the Jessie kiss video is up to 1.2 million views now? It's gotta be one of the most viewed FF7R videos out there!

This is something I thought when I saw her ultimania profile, and since its Tifa's birthday today I was thinking about it again, but I kinda wish they gave Jessie a canon birthday. Given everything else we know about her now, it is weird that she doesn't have one.

upscaling, is my best guess, as there is an 8k trailer around YT i saw. whatever the case is, i see really the difference when i switch from 1080 to 4k on there. but either way i'm sorta happy i have a way to get HD screenshots instead of relying on doing it from YT (which can quickly get annoying). i really wish there was a non subtitled version in HD of the game though....://

Nojima: When writing the scenarios in the game, I had to pay great attention to the fact that the characters that appear are no longer shown in cute graphics from the original game, but actual people now. For example, in the original game, there weren’t many houses shown in the slums, but in this game, there are tons of houses that allows you to strongly feel the presence of people living within a city. I thought to create scenarios where people are living and breathing in this space. Whether it be the AVALANCHE members or other characters in the story, I always dug deep and thought “Why are they living like this here?” when creating the backgrounds.
—One case of that would be when it was shown that Jessie used to be an actress at the Gold Saucer, right?
Nojima: I wanted Jessie’s mannerisms to be like that of someone who has experience in theater, and I delved into creating episodes about her past leading up to her current family situation. There were many plans to create these types of sub-scenarios for the game when the project first started.

Nice! I wish we'd have been able to see more of these story bits he mentioned. Maybe when/if she comes back in Part 2. Here's hoping!

Yeah, seems that way. Hopefully when/if she comes back in Part 2, she'll get to have a date there with Cloud just like the other girls and we'll finally get to see her perform - and maybe have that pizza with him. :)

and i do wonder if they'll show jessie rehearsal videos and such in part 2... maybe have cloud looking at them with a soft smile, imagining what could have happened if she was there.... okay i'll stop now :awesome:

I hope we get even better and actually get to have Cloud take her on the Gold Saucer date if we want and getting to actually see her in the role she was meant for. Imagine the kiss part of that play, especially if they changed it to factor in Jessie's flirtiness and forwardness. Cloud takes her hand like in the OG, but then Jessie leans down, takes his face in her other hand, and kisses him right on the mouth. Sort of like he was too shy to go the direct route himself so she decided to show him how it was done.

Thanks! You mean about using Andrea? It was something I thought of when writing the later parts of Chapter 9 at Reeve's place and trying to figure out how to do Jessie's makeover. I'd always known she'd have one after leaving Shinra in order to change her appearance, but I hadn't been sure how to pull it off until then. But he seemed a perfect fit for it as well as for teaching her to be more confident and outgoing and more like the remake self we all know and love. Hadn't expected it to take an entire chapter, but I think it worked out okay. I actually did some research online about different cosmetics and dresses so it would be more believable and realistic. I really wanted to turn her into a bombshell, lol.

Bet you liked her "steamy" scene at the start of the chapter, too. :mon:

Yeah, I know the story isn't remake compatible, but your ability to incorporate elements from it on the fly is impressive.

Thanks again! I subscribe to your multiverse theory, so it's all good, hehe. My stories are a hybrid of the OG and remake plus my own ideas to make a new interpretation. Just think of them as an alternative take on the FFVII story. Lets me have a lot more creative freedom that way. :)

I'd love to see her and Aerith interacting sometime, maybe (hopefully) in Part 2. I think they'd have a lot of fun together. Jessie would probably get a kick out of Red, too, especially with his sassy personality. I can see them playfully razzing each other back and forth as way of expressing their friendship.
