I'm using google chrome. Another detail worth noting is that the log in button is green when that happens. It doesn't look like it'll go away on its own so forwarding the issue would be best.
I've been getting the "Rate Limit Exceeded" message again for about two days now. It never lasts longer than 5 minutes, so it's nothing serious really. I just find it quaint how it comes and goes.
The IRC client appears to be broken. I can't use it at all.
Edit: It finally started working properly again but the fact that it wasn't working for the several attempts I've made over the past couple hours should be noted.
Since you're on IRC a lot, why not download a standalone client? I wouldn't use the web client for more than occasional visits, personally. I'm not dismissing your bug report but it's likely that it was a problem on KiwiIRC's side rather than on the network's side, so you could have connected by other means.

Noted, but yeah, what Flint said; it's basically an iframe opening a 3rd party client, nothing we can really do besides complain to them when things break. And it's broken earlier, too, lately. We probably should look into another client if that happens again.
My only experience with downloadable clients consists of free trials for freenode. IRC clients aren't really the kind of thing I consider important enough to spend money on if I can avoid it and save cash for other things. Also, I'm getting the error message again, so it may be another persistent problem.
I know freenode is a network but have no idea how to switch networks on a client and the TLS IRC is the only one I remember seeing that isn't on freenode.
HexChat is pretty decent too, but, I'll admit that they kinda suck in terms of UI / UX and they really need to improve on that. Mind you I haven't checked out more modern Windows 10-built irc clients, should be a bit better if someone can be arsed to make it.
This is probably a mobile issue but the search bar for the search option when looking for particular threads keeps disappearing before I can even type anything, rendering it unusable.
At the very bottom of the Lifestream Forums landing page, The Lifestream Forums Statistics section shows the Active Members to be at 0, and our newest member is Freckles, who has in fact joined back in Nov 28, '15. I can only speculate but, without much techno lingo and whatnot, I don't have much to suggest that would potentially make sense
So something weird happened to me. I'm not sure if it was a one off (as I tested it twice and got the same result) or if it just... happened to the whole forum at that time, but...
I was quoting this post in that thread when it said there was a img tagged but the url had a looooot of characters. And I thought "funny, I don't remember seeing a picture" so I copied the url and pasted it into a new tab. Then I get a bad gateway page saying the website is offline and there isn't a cached version. If I then go home/click a different thread, I get the same result. I just close my browser and reload and it's fine. But still.
The weird thing about this is the img url is from TLS.. possibly an old emoticon? or gif? But the post in question is from 4 hrs ago so it's not even something that could have been archived since?
That's not an url, it's an image. It's so long because that's all the information needed for making it. You can see it by the /data:image/jpeg;base64,/ in the beginning. Basically it's binary data encoded in ASCII using base64. Trivia: Avatars on this forum is stored in the database as blobs (Binary Large Object). For accessing the avatars directly from the database you'd decode the data the same way.
An img src html tag will render it, but iirc the bbcode img tag won't. Curious as to why it ever worked (Edit: It probably never did? My browser shows it as a broken image. But some browser might hide the "broken image"... image.)
If you want to see the image, put the html in the spoiler tag below into a txt document (using Notepad or Textpad or something) and save it as whatever.html. Then open the file in your browser
Also, for the record: I think what happened is the user probably dragged and dropped or copy pasta'd an image file directly into the post, and something went wrong.
I've been fucking around with them a bit; guests were seeing double ads, I thought that looked bad. I also tried to get them to show for just me, but, guess that b0rked . Apologies, let me see if I can fixx it.
edit: should be fixed? (I logged in with a test account with donator status)
