Given the naming structure of the Compilation it's obvious that EVER CRISIS is a major entry. Hard to say if it'd be a subtitle for the next part of the REMAKE, or maybe some sort of combined retelling of BC/CC. Its name makes it feel like a continuation of both the Compilation and a tie-in to REMAKE, though.

THE FIRST SOLDIER sounds more like a spinoff since it doesn't conform to the naming structure. I can imagine them toying around with it in Japanese only to realize that they can't spell it THE FIRST COLDIER.

Edit: I suppose I could also see them being DLC for REMAKE. A new or remixed story focused on Zack, with the other perhaps being an origin story for Sephiroth tying into the Nibelheim flashbacks.

Ever Crisis is going to be FFVII's Union X minus being a fucking flash game running on shoestrings and rubber bands.

You'll make your custom Turk and/or SOLDIER character and then it's gonna be episodic Before Crisis on modern mobile infrastructure with gacha elements to become a money machine.

Now the real question is will it be done by Team Ninja, Gumi, or someone new? If it's Gumi, then enjoy making a deal with Satan as they fleece you with awesome graphics and 16 bit sprites forever. :monster:

Was just discussing this possibility on the Discord...but what about a Crisis Core: Definitive Edition, like the Xenoblade one? Updated visuals, Japanese voice option, extra/new stuff. Possibly even material in there that becomes relevant in P2 and on.

I think it’ll be really hard to redeem Sephiroth after having him kill Aerith, Cloud’s mother, Tifa’s father, the residents of Nibelheim and damn near the whole planet but I could buy maybe one final act of kindness before his demise

No matter how many people a villain kills us irrelevant if the fans want them around. Lookin' at Vegeta right now. But all things considered I don't see Sephy ever pulling a face turn.

Sephrioth has always seemingly had a superiority complex, if a lot subtler and not let out very often. And, he never seems to see it as a problem. Even when he's sane in CC, there's always a part of him that sees himself as set apart and stronger than everyone else is. Finding out about Jenova just validated that feeling and turned it up to eleven.

In order for Sephrioth to be "redeemed" he would have to let go of that superiority complex, and I don't see that happening any time soon.

Sephiroth doesn't even know that sorry woman's name.

She's the equivalent of some random trash off the street. She's not his mother. His mother is Jenova because until then, he had no mother. Sephiroth didn't even have to purge his human emotions and memories of her because he never had any.

Just like Hojo isn't his father.

If Remake is still considered the 5th Compilation title by the devs, then perhaps Ever Crisis will be the subtitle for Remake's inevitable and definitive multiplatform release. So all together it'd be Final Fantasy VII Remake: Ever Crisis. That would pave the way for future parts to just change the subtitle and keep the Final Fantasy VII Remake branding. Sounds a bit awkward at first, but hey, Ever Crisis fits the theme of Remake about as well as some other Compilation titles do with their games.

I dunno if that would mean anything to him. They've never met and he clearly only considers Jenova his mother.

edit: ninja'd
That’s what I mean though, Sephiroth’s driven by his delusions and I wonder what would happened if he realized everything he thought to be true was all BS

After finishing Remake, people already speculated its second/sequel title (not as subtitle) can be rebirth, reunion, requiem, even Edge of Creation (EC). So, I think it's possible Ever Crisis is added to the options.

I mean... Sephrioth did know the truth of his origins. He absorbed the memory of the Cetra in the Liestream which includes what Jenova is in the OG. It just... didn't stop his plans at all. In ACC he's certainly on board with Jenova's plan of riding the remains of the Planet through the cosmos looking for more Planets to devour.

CC makes it all the more obvious by having Genesis tell Sephrioth how Jenova was actually found and what she actually is before Sephiroth finds the wrong information in the Manor. Sephrioth just... tells him that doesn't matter. And then jumps on board the information he finds in the Manor.

Granted, the way Genesis unloads all that information isn't great. But that Sephiroth all but says that it doesn't matter if it's a lie or the truth even thought it's about something he's wanted to know his entire life... I think that says something about Sephrioth's per-conceived ideas about Jenova. And that he wasn't going to go with a "version" of her he himself didn't like.

And this is coming from a guy who says... "I was not like the others. I knew mine was a special existence. He doesn't leave a lot of room for being anything else.

What he says to Genesis was specifically related to whether he'd be helping Genesis out with the gift of his own cells. Sephiroth has had a frontrow seat to the Genesis temper tantrum from the very beginning and is perfectly entitled to feel he has made up his mind about whether Genesis deserves help or not before he arrived at the Nibelheim Reactor.
