Christopher Nolan's cinematographer Wally Pfister has answered a few questions posed by Bleeding Cool writer Brendon Connelly as part of the Kevin and Josh Movie Show and the comments have now hit the web, hinting that we will, indeed, see Anne Hathaway suit up as Catwoman next summer in The Dark Knight Rises (as opposed to just appearing as Selina Kyle).
"Yeah.. She's phenomenal," said Pfister when asked if he shot the Catwoman screentest, "This is something she wanted and wanted to show Chris, 'I'm the one for this job' and she did an incredible job... and she looked phenomenal in the wardrobe. It's going to be amazing with her."
Later, Connelly tried to clarify that the test did, indeed, involve Catwoman and not just Selina Kyle, but was unable to achieve confirmation.
"I'll get fired and I won't even get to shoot the picture!" Pfister laughed, "I can't really [say], but I definitely want to be around next year."
Pfister also addressed various rumors, including shooting down the idea that any the production would take place in New Orleans and also commented on the recent internet rumor that Robin Williams would be joining the cast in the part of Hugo Strange.
"I haven't even heard that," he said, genuinely surprise, "Look, they have to keep a lot of secrets from me anyway... I don't really know. They can turn around and surprise me, too. When I saw the list of girls that we were going to be screen-testing before they cast Anne, I didn't know myself who was real and who wasn't until about two days before the test..."
You people are so pessimistic.
Long rumored to play a part in Christopher Nolan's Batman sequel after his turn in the director's Inception last year, Joseph Gordon-Levitt is now reported by Deadline to be in talks for a role in The Dark Knight Rises.
Currently filming Rian Johnson's Looper, Gordon-Levitt has not officially been cast and, as of yet, there is no studio confirmation that he is even being sought to appear. That said, the actor has preemptively been the subject of much internet speculation regarding who he might play in the DC Universe and, as such, has certainly proven himself popular with Nolan fans.
The Dark Knight Rises is slated to feature the return of Christian Bale, Michael Caine and Gary Oldman, reprising their characters from Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. Newcomers confirmed to appear include Anne Hathaway in the part of Selina Kyle and Tom Hardy (who also appeared in Inception) in the role of Bane.
The film is planned for regular and IMAX release on July 20, 2012.

What does pessimism have to do with not liking an actor in a certain role?
I don't think anyone ever said HURR DURR THIS FILM WILL SUCK. Which we know it won't. I just don't like Anne Hat in this role. The character of Rachel Dawes was portray by two shitty actors in both films but it didn't detract from them much.
Also, now that I think about Hugo strange did a lot of experiments with steroids and shit to try and create superhumans. Maybe that's how they'll fit Bane into the film. I just hope whatever happens he retains his intelligence.
Maybe one or two people have expressed a dislike for Anne, but most simply state that they greatly doubt her acting chops. Hence pessimism. Derp @ you.
And lol, I love how my one sentence made you go on to think that I thought people implied that the film will suck. No.
No ma'am I believe I am quite alright.
Alright indeed.
Adri got pWnzOr'd, imho.
I'm tired people saying they should leave the Joker out of the film just to honor Ledger's performance. If they can find an appropriate role for the character in the film and proper actor to portray him, there's no valid reason not to. Levitt has the talent.
