The translation clearly shows the CHURCH is the promised land and "she" trying to leave is TIFA.

I guess she finally took the hint that her nagging was annoying and shes gonna let Cloud be with Aerith in his promised land of the church.

You just don't get the symbolism of Cloud pouring heart-shaped water (water? Aerith? Duh?) onto Denzel.

Obviously it's meant to be showing that Cloud is making Denzel imprint onto Aerith so they will be soul mates when Denzel is old enough.

Denzel is Aerith and Cloud's child after all, so it makes perfect sense.

Sorta OT, but I watched ACC again the other night and was again struck by how important it is that Cloud be the one to heal Denzel. The kid couldn't just go out in the rain like the rest. It had to be CLOUD who did it, because of its symbolism. /random

And to finish his arc of leaving to find a cure for Denzel, then finally finding and giving the cure to Denzel himself. So he can return home a hero.

Hey guys you know the scene in FFVII where Tifa forces Cloud to promise to save her if she ever needed it. My little sister drew a picture of it and I think it's really sad that the little kids can see exactly how it went and the Clotis still don't get it:
