I like how they're going into the friendship between Galadrial and Gandalf. That first scene in Lorien is going to hit so hard now.

This is honestly my favourite part of about the films - especially the extended versions. They build up all the little pieces and background in Middle Earth, so that Fellowship REALLY has the feeling that everything is constantly falling to pieces at every turn.

Right I probably already said it, but like...I don't think what they did with Smaugs voice was all that unexpected. TBH I think they could have gone more otherworldly with it. It was ok and everything, didn't spoil the film at all, but I think it got hyped up.

Also am I the only one who thinks it was totally redundant for him to have a full body dotsuit for that? Andy Serkis - that was full body acting right there, and when you see footage of him doing it vs Gollum you can really see it. But for Smaug it just seems a bit stupid - I guess Cumberbatch wanted the experience?

Yeah, I'm still not sure how Cumberbatch's Mocap session translated to Smaug's body or face.

Somehow I'm sure their tourism sector doubled after LotR, . I'm sure the statistics can be extracted from here.

Also of note is that apparently, tourism takes up over 16% of NZ's income; that's rather significant, . Probably as big as oil or other natural resources for a lot of other countries, if not more so.
