There is blood on Cloud's shirt when he get's stabbed! If you pay attention you can see a darker shade of color spread out from the wound into his shirt. It's easier to see in the Collector's Set because the animation is cleaner and brighter.
It could also be a reference to FFVII gameplay that a character who is apparently cut in half by a sword can still walk around. Like with Tifa and Tseng.
Or how about when Cloud stabs Sephiroth in CC? How it is his upper body did not flap over ala Nearly Headless Nick's head in Harry Potter is beyond me. :monster:

It's those kind of mistakes that makes me rock back and forth in the middle of the night, going "It didn't happen it didn't happen it didn't happen it didn't happen!" I occassionally do the same for DoC. :monster:

I'm sorry, I saw the words "Harry Potter" and stopped reading in disgust.

It was also pretty obvious Tseng and Tifa were not cut in half.

I was making a reference to body parts flapping around.

Well the idea that anyone could ever withstand a stab from the Buster Sword. The wound would be so incredibly huge. (And Cloud stabbed him in FF7 too, it wasn't just CC) I don't care how high Sephiroth's constitution is, at the very least he would lose all feeling in his legs as his spine would be cleanly severed.

But I wouldn't let it keep you up at night, shademp. It's fantasy, get used to it. :)

He is Sephiroth, bitch!
It does look like he shouldn't even be in one piece, though.

I have a quick question...Can someone provide a link, or at least just say what all is going to be included in Advent Children Complete. All the bonus material, how many minutes have been added to the film, etc. By the way I saw a March 2009 release in Japan. Will that release have English subtitles? Or am I going to have to wait for the U.S. release?

"Standard Edition" (without bonus disk)

Simultaneous release of 3 versions

----

Main features:
- "Final Fantasy VII" revamped with approx. 30 minutes of new scenes, alterations and re-edits
- New bonus features
- Voice tracks in multiple languages
- High quality HD resolution

First Press Standard Edition Bonus Disk for PlayStation 3:
- Final Fantasy XIII [Demo Ver.]

Includes latest HD trailers of:
- Final Fantasy Agito XIII
- Final Fantasy Versus XIII

----

The story of the 2 years leading from 'Final Fantasy VII' to 'Advent Children'

Final Fantasy VII -On the Way to a Smile-

New novel by Kazushige Nojima
Simultaneous release

In addition to the perviously released 'Case of Tifa' and 'Case of Denzel', also planned to include the new 'Case of Barret (unreleased in Japan)', 'Case of Yuffie', 'Case of the Turks', 'Case of Red XIII', and more.

English audio is definitely going to be included in the Japanese release, so there's a good chance for it having subtitles.

Wow that's amazing. I can't wait for the release. If english is going to be on the Japanese release then I'm Definitely pre-ordering it from Japan. Thanks hito!

lol Remember that movies have different region coding.

Unless Blu-Ray doesn't...?

Not every Blu-Ray does. I think some other Sony BD releases have been region-free, so ACC might be too.

But if you live in the US it shouldn't matter either way, since the US and Japan are the same region for Blu-Ray (as opposed to DVD, which wasn't).

Note however that we don't know how much of the 30 minutes are added scenes or just re-edits. The movie may or may not be 30 minutes longer. I expect it to not be that much longer, but that's just me not wanting to hope for too much.

Hmm, a difficult choice present itself for me. Import and buy blu-ray player OR spend the money on a PSP and Crisis Core... Economically and in terms of hours of entertainment the answer is obvious, but I want ACC more than a game!

I also want the FF13 demo that I doubt the US release will have. But since I'll be in Japan (leaving wednesday ;D), I'll just buy it there.

Well I would personally go for CC and a psp first, then save up immediately for ACC and a Blu-ray player. I absolutely LOVED the story, graphics, music, and well everything about CC. Idk of course it's your choice, but It's great to play through and experience CC. I just played through CC 3 times, then right after played FF7, then right after that watched AC, now I'm playing DoC. Wish I could get BC but oh well...can't wait for ACC

Well we have a few months before ACC comes out. Buy the PSP and CC now and get the Blu-Ray and ACC later?

Re: What are you looking forward to most in ACC?

I'd rather a new game than ACC tbh, seems like wasted time to me, but I'll have to reserve judgment on that until the release.

I do appreciate the extra work encoding the film in HD, and retooling the scenes though. It's undebatable that the film is a technical and artistic triumph.

Nah, too much gil uh I mean money even in that time span (has the golden coins for it but likes them shining there ya know?). I'll just wait a year or so inbetween each purchase, or hope for a fitting present for next christmas :monster: (unlucky for me that my birthday is around that time).

*goes back to topic so to not get yelled at*
Oh and uh, I want to see a resolution to Yuffie's line over the phone. "All the kids in Wutai are missing. Have you heard anything about it?"
What is up with that? We get no indication that Team Silver has went to Wutai and picked up children there. Sure not ALL the kids we see in the forest and in Edge could have fit on the truck in one trip, but this plot point has to be filled. Give the kids town-tags or something.

Now it is close to 4 in the morning over here, I should have gone to sleep long ago but was busy scoring new records in Gold Saucer :neo:
Studies await! *prepares for short sleep and lots of coffee*

You do realize, of course, that Square has all sorts of different teams for working on different aspects of different projects in different mediums, right?

It's not a matter of "they're wasting time" or "they could be using this time to make a new game instead of a new movie". Entirely different groups of people are involved with this than would be involved in a game.

In fact, the AC team is also working on Final Fantasy Versus XIII (with the KH team).

No shit?

From what I understand Nomura and his team have several projects that they're working on besides ACC, but I still feel like the time they've used for ACC could have been better invested elsewhere.

And while they're not the same teams, I'm quite sure a lot of the team members are working on other projects besides tweaking AC.

That's all.

Re: What are you looking forward to most in ACC?

Honestly, I'd rather them take their time and continue to finish what they've already done before starting on a new game. I like that they aren't rushing to do the next installment of the Compilation because it still feels like it'd be too soon.

Churning out chapter after chapter of FFVII wouldn't work, it'd kinda start to lose its anticipation and luster. I'd rather them wait awhile and spread it out than release one Compilation title back to back like they did with AC and DC.

Who said anything about another compilation title? I disagree entirely about it being too soon though.

They should have finished ACC in the first place, if you go by the obvious logic the film was finished when it was shipped.

Holy shit, that was fast :monster:

Didn't you say you'd rather a new game? I mean, we *are* talking about the Compilation of FFVII right? XD

Well yeah, but that didn't happen. Remember, it's not like they went into this little adventure thinking they'd be even making a real film. I'm sure if they went into it with the story already in mind, with the budget they wanted, and the freedom to do what they wanted, they could've made ACC the first go.

So I'm not allowed to refer to any other possible titles now? To hell with your nazi bull.

When you make a movie, the moment you release it, it's done. What we're getting now is a basically a directors cut, but extended like the Lord of the Rings films were when rereleased.

They went in knowing they were making a film, just not one so long. The overall project seems sloppy from the way you describe it.

Re: What are you looking forward to most in ACC?

Well we are in the FVII AC section of the forum, my bad :monster:

I don't think ACC is stopping any other SE games. I'm sure we'll have plenty of other things to do until it comes out.

And yeah, they knew but the plot *did* change a lot. I mean, a twenty minute animated short about Cloud receiving a loving letter from Tifa and the orphans exploded into this. That, and with the budget and guidelines they had to keep kinda limited them.
