Spent most of yesterday playing Mother 3. Not the first time I've played it, but I had issues getting any good at it the first few times I tried. This time I've actually made it up to the time skip.

Holy shit, unlike its predecessor Earthbound, this game does not pretend its going to be anything but pitch dark for much of its length. Even with the signature quirky humor and such the series is known for, this is just... ouch, poor Tazmilly. And I love it anyway.

Started Dragon Age: Origins (at last got a cheap, second-hand copy!). So far I'm loving it, because it reminds me of NWN games, but without the insufferable cast of NWN2. Right now I'm about to repeat the "Broken Circle" mission because I screwed big time ^^; Things that I've learned so far with this game:

  • Swooping is bad.
  • Taking Morrigan to the Mages' Tower is a baaaaaaaad idea (if you don't want
    to behead Wynne
    )
  • I just discovered I have -100 Defense against the "Ex-Templar's Puppy Eyes" skill.
  • Bitchy Morrigan is bitchy (and fun as hell).
  • Flemeth is downright disturbing.
  • Cookies!
  • Some characters have "Red Shirt" writen all over their faces.
  • If this is a game for adults, WTF am I doing squealing and "aww"-ing and giggling so much?! :rage:
  • Why Elves have to be shorter than Humans? I thought it was just a D&D's nonsense

You don't have to kill her at all, even if you take Morrigan along. Wynne attacks based solely upon your answers when you're talking.

btw I totally took Morrigan along everywhere, including the Circle Tower, because she was my party's mage for the entire game

This is more of a reflection on you than the game.

Also, characters in die only every die depending on what you do and if you make them turn on you.

I was doing a complete run through the whole Baldur's Gate saga (For God's sake, the PC one, not PS2), and I "had" to stop at Throne of Bhaal because Dissidia 012 came out. I then started to play Dissidia 012 for quite a while (which I still pretty much do), and in the meantime started the hunt for Ar Tonelico: Qoga. It took me more than two weeks to find, raiding many videogame stores after the release date. In the end I got it, and I started to play.

So right now I am playing both Dissidia 012 and Ar Tonelico: Qoga, but when FFIV comes out on the PSP, I'll have to get it... my my, too many things! :D

Devil Survivor doesn't have a demon compendium. ._.

That's about the only thing bad I can say about it so far. :awesome: Apart from, of course, I have an escort mission to do. And the person who I'm trying to save has run into a corner where the demons can gang up on her. And is on the opposite side of the map to me. ._.

- Dissidia: There is a lot more to this game than I realized. Just started playing it, doing mostly quick battles atm to get used to the controls and combat.
- Tactics Ogre: Very FFT, which is definitely not a bad thing. May have named my order of knights Order of "the Phoenix" >________>
- Uncharted: Fuck me this game is good. Don't know why I've waited so long to play it. I'm playing it on hard and died plenty of times, but it's lots of fun. Best death so far was when I meant to just walk to the edge of the window and hit O to drop down and instead pressed X, making me do an awesome somersault through the window, glitch for a second in midair, then plummet to my death.

Also, ty jesus for games with good voice acting.

Devil Survivor

The dialogue is making me LOL, with one character exclaiming he has to survive so he can visit his favourite net forums, only to later complain about internet withdrawal symptoms.

Also, some of the demons themselves, such as when you try to fuse Pixie (she asks if you're trying to make her sexier, and calls you a pervert), or recruit Moh Shuvuu (she asks if you want her to call you Master, or by your name).

Of course, I'm trying hard not to let my guard down. This is a Shin Megami Tensei title, after all. It'll get worse (see TVTropes articles: Genre Savvy; It Got Worse; Beyond the Impossible).
