@Jairus – I'm going to be frank. Everyone here is
completely and utterly exhausted of seeing your opinion on this topic elsewhere on the board.
This isn't because we're not interested in the Avalanche crew. Quite the opposite. We love the Avalanche crew and have a huge range of opinions about their utilization in the Remake. It's because your posts are obsessively one-note and offer nothing insightful or interesting, and you latch on to every opportunity to provide this perspective that it's made even mentioning the topic of the Avalanche trio anywhere a drag, because you'll inevitably show up and ruin everyone else's enjoyment and excitement by adding in your predictable disappointment about the same thing over and over again. Every possible response that anyone could give you whenever you mention the topic up only ever just gives way to you bringing up your obsession and complaining about the things we've heard from you a hundred thousand times already.
If you're making posts with the anticipation that no one will reply, you're not providing any content worth talking about. If you're not providing any content worth talking about, there's no reason for you to have made that post at all. If that's the case, then don't post because you're not adding anything to the thread.
If you still make the post anyway, you're doing one of two things: spamming or hoping for off-topic engagement, both of which will inevitably derail the thread. Both of those will also earn you a warning – so there's never any reason to be doing either of them.
Since it's obvious that you HAVE still been making posts, you're still seeding opportunities to bait out replies from someone addressing the subject of the Avalanche Trio with context that you've set. Then you respond to them about that, and steer things back towards what you were told not to discuss is that thread. Then when you get shut down, you just start playing dumb or acting the victim because you
technically didn't start the conversation, so you feel like you can't be held responsible for just engaging with people when the topic came about naturally.
– But it didn't happen naturally. You're just starting this same pattern in different ways that you think you can get away with.
This has gotten to the point where people no longer even have the barest remote interest in seeing those posts – let alone in discussing this topic with you. No matter how much we genuinely like the Avalanche trio or have thoughts about how they're being used, discussing them just brings along with it the inevitable dread of needing to ignore or otherwise deal with your replies on the subject. It's become the inescapable wet blanket that worms its way into everything, brings down the mood, and causes people to just disengage. Then when you get ignored, you just get louder and more frustrated – and you manage to make everyone else's experience here worse because of it.
Because those posts of yours are now a predictable net negative on the community, you've been asked to stop being so self-focused and contain your opinions to a thread that was explicitly designated for you to do so. No one's silencing you. We gave you a dedicated and focused platform to share all of your thoughts and opinions on the matter. We have simply trimmed back the creeping tendrils from everywhere else, so that the community at large can enjoy these things without you instantly killing the mood.
The fact that
this thread has become the equivalent of an echo chamber of you screaming into the void about a topic that you're desperate for others to listen to is no one's responsibility but your own. You feel like having your posts restricted here is caging your opinions, but this is a prison of your own design, because you refused to be self-reflective enough to create content worth other's time to engage. That no one wants to discuss it here with you isn't a problem at all –
it is a reflection of the reality of the circumstances that you have created for yourself that we have been forced to contain in order to prevent them from continually affecting everyone else. If you post content worth replying to here, people will respond to it. If you're continually off-putting and loop all engagement back into your melancholic disappointments and harshing on everyone's good vibes, people will disengage.
However, rather than changing when failing at managing to champion the topic on your own, you started reaching back out again. It got to the point that, you were clearly and explicitly told not to discuss this topic within the Official Twitter thread –
and couldn't even go a week without going right back down that same rabbit hole.
Being told that you're not allowed to talk about it in that thread is not the same as being unable to discuss it on the entire forum. Again – don't exaggerate and play at being the victim here as you're not being persecuted, and don't play dumb because you've done this too many times for that to be the case. You're now being reprimanded for continually and repeatedly not doing what was asked of you –
but instead choosing to push the technicalities of those stated boundaries established in good faith in every possible way in order to keep engaging on this obsession of yours outside of this thread.
If you want this thread to be a place that's worth having conversations in it: Do it.
If you want to go elsewhere on the internet to air your grievances to any desperate audience you can find wherever they let you: Do it.
If you think that there is even a tiny remote hint of a possibility that I will see something you post and be forced to waste more of my time to move it here – post something different that is worth everyone else's time to engage with, make a related post about your thoughts within this thread instead, or just decide that the post wasn't important enough to make in the first place and do something else. If this is what it finally takes to make you think through your actions and learn how to be a member others welcome rather than begrudgingly tolerate, I'm more than glad to be the enforcer of you second-guessing everything you post on the board.
If you do not have the capacity to do that, you will receive a warning, and the post will be moved back to this thread. Every. Single. Time. until your account gets warned enough to be timed out or banned.
As I said before – this isn't a matter of discussion.
I have wasted far more of my time than I ever wanted to laying out the specifics of exactly what's expected from you and why in this reply, so that you can't feign ignorance if/when the seemingly inevitable occurs and you get a warning & more posts of yours moved here. I'd be more than happy for you to prove me wrong, as it would be lovely for me to never have to spend another single solitary second pruning a thread of your ad nauseam lamenting – but ultimately what happens is entirely up to you.
I'm not replying again, because I'm going to spend the rest of my time posting about things I am personally excited about and interested in, and you have well more than enough information to make whatever choice you choose to about what role you're going to play within this community going forward.
