Still not a reason to harass someone. It's not even saying that Aerith is a mad bitch. The point was she wasn't here. You would've told me this at the end of Part 3, I would say "yeah, kind of disrespectful theory" but for now... it's not like we'll not see her again.
I think the theory don't hold too much weight on its own. But I kinda agree Jenova's cell are onto something. I'm not with him when talking about the CGI Aerith during the ending. But the one we see when they're all mourning is creeping me out for real. That's the first thing I thought "Kinda spooky"
So no, the one saying goodbye is our dearly maiden. But i'm pretty sure Jenova will chill and fuck his mind even more with this "Aerith is alive" mindset.

My point is : Cloud created a fake Aerith in his mind, like he created a fake Zack persona. It's not Jenova. More like Jenova is using this weird mind palace of his to continue toying with his mind.
Why you could ask ? Simply because Tsundere Sephiroth wants to separate Cloud from the party. He wants everyone else to see Cloud is loosing it/is a fucking insisitive bitch. He want them to doubt Cloud more and more. He failed to kill Tifa because the planet is protecting her. No it's time to provoke another type of separation. For his evil plan to succeed, he needs to stop the real Cloud to come back.

That doesn't seem to be what Max is saying though.
Even then, idk if it's Jenova actively doing things within Cloud's mind. As far as I know, outside of Sephiroth, it's his trauma and mako poisoning that is fucking with him mentally.
It is possible they've made it so Jenova is doing more than she did before though

When Cloud see Sephiroth out of the blue or this MF tells him Tifa has no scar and Cloud trust him and don't see shit in front of him, I would say it's not too far fetched to think Sephiroth/Jenova cells can do a lot of things in Cloud's brain. Like... making him imagine her lost dear friend (who's speaking with 90% of Remake sentences, except the meteor part. sus.)
It's not Jenova for sure. But the "perfect vision" of her Cloud created to protect himself from breaking. Like he did with Zack kinda.

Gotta be honest I'm not sure why the Jenova = Aerith theory has got people up in a twist, virtually everyone has misconstrued what Max was actually saying...
He wasn't saying Aerith HERSELF is Jenova, he was saying Jenova/Sephiroth was imitating Aerith after her death, i'm not sure that is a difficult concept to grasp and doesn't make Aerith herself evil?

Well... it's the fucking big villain of the story. The origin of all this mess. So yeah it's maybe tame but... when things go shit it's pretty normal to think of her. But I don't even care, it's not my theory, and someone having a bad take/theory doesn't deserve to be shit on and harassed.

Let's be honnest. We know why. It's because it's saying Aerith is dead, that people harrassing someone over a videogame are insecure at minimal, and they're afraid a "big streamer" with an audience is spreading this kind of idea. As if Square Enix was waiting Max ideas to plan what to do next...

Aerith’s goodbye in the final cutscene is framed like a genuine goodbye. There would be no reason for Jenova to do that or to “stay behind” like she does.

Sorry, I'm just catching up on the thread but what exactly are we counting as chapters for both girls? Like scenes with Cloud, specifically? Or just scenes in general?
I do think that overall both girls got the same amount of time, it's just that a majority of Aerith's screentime comes in towards the end while Tifa's screentime is evenly spread out from beginning to end. I think a lot of people wanted more Aerith-centric content that let us peer into her as a character since this was her "farewell" game.

Like I said, the Tiny Bronco is far away, Cloud is not watching anymore. The Goodbye Aerith is the real deal. She's gonna look after us from the LS.
I actually think the Aerith by the lake siting with Cloud is Jenova. Cloud’s face in that frame is creepy, the smile is creepy af. The green light tint doesn’t help at all.

Anyway she died for sure. If anyone is not happy with that, they should complain to SE 27 years ago

I think a lot of fans are holding on to hope that she can still come back in Part 3.
I don’t think she will though, except for Interludes like Zack got this game.. I definitely think her content will be in the Lifestream, dead.
But is Max getting hard for blatantly saying she died though? I thought it was just because he thought she was Jenova at the end.
