I have to be real honest I think this is one of the best-looking games of these last 2 generations (and imo the best of last-gen). The character modelling is crazy good (dem scanned faces), and especially paired with the amazing visual effects, the only noticeable difference playing on this old-gen stuff is a) the texture resolutions and b) the framerate.

Fox Engine is a serious competitor with some serious punch, up there with names like Frostbite and Cryengine if they can make last-gen look this good. (I doubt Konami will be willing to loan it out anytime soon, though, though I believe the objective was something Kojipro could freely hand out development kits for within the company and given them settling the legalities and documentation Fox Engine could very much be commercialised)

has anyone else used the companion app with the game? i am downloading it to my phone but i don't know if i would be able to use the map feature since my phone's wifi is dead i have an ipad to use it on so there's that, i was just hoping i could use it on two devices and it would share the data

(It would also make all the 'exploitative' business all make sense, but let's see what Kojima comes up with before we all get hype over nothing )

It's a real shame because all the actual themes of Ground Zeroes that could have been discussed (and should have, imo) is completely overshadowed by all the complaints about the pricing

The Medic in the chopper is vital. you never see his face and his voice is Keifer Sutherlands voice slowed down. Youtube that shit for verification.

Playing through MGS3 again and just beat The End. Absolutely loved that boss fight, but even more so I love the scene in the tunnel afterwards, where Snake is climbing up that ridiculously long ladder and a vocals only rendition of Snake Eater plays. Still gives me goosebumps

That isn't REX, just another precursor Metal Gear that they couldn't be arsed to give an original design. =/
I think the 'Radome' part is actually spherical on this one?

Zeke, except version 2.0 or something and they just gave it upgrades and the Peace Walker radome, which was spherical

Also, it can't be REX. REX was specifically designed by Otacon. I'm a little disappointed that they aren't taking any design cues from the original Metal Gear games' Metal Gears, but not too fussed.

Playing through MGS2 now.

I forgot how cheesy and annoying Rose and Raiden's conversations were in this. I normally like Quinton Flynn but his acting really grates in this ¬_¬

I used to hate their conversations on my first playthough back on the PS2. They were annoying. I just wanted them to shut up.

I don't know if its because I'm much older now, but on my HD playthrough, I actually liked them talking. I didn't hit skip or anything. I just listened. Their conversations felt... organic.
