Jesus Christ, am I the only one seeing the utter lack of common sense and reality here? That seriously makes sense to you? Seriously? Because this is how it would really happen, Raquel:

~*~

Cloud: *sleeping soundly in his room in the silent darkness of the night*

Tifa: *slowly opens the door and creeps into the dark room*

Cloud: ZZzzzz...

Tifa: Do you love me?

Cloud: @___@ HI TIFA! Umm...what are you doing here? Is something wrong?

Tifa: Do you love Marlene?

Cloud: ....It's 1am...I don't love anyone this late at night. What the hell do you want?

Tifa: Nothing I just thought I'd ask....

Cloud:...Goodnight. *rolls over*

Tifa: *stares at Cloud until dawn and then walks out*

~*~

Explain to me how it makes sense for Tifa to not only sneak into Cloud's room and randomly ask him a question, waking him up in his room, but for her to literally just stare at him sleeping all night long until night and then leave so she doesn't notice him. Make that work for me, please.

As much as that's meant to take the piss out of my argument that made me lol. :awesomonster:

And considering Tifa is both a lover and basically a family member to Cloud, that's why I don't find it odd.
So they're lovers who share the same house but not the same room?

... I'm starting to wonder if this is a cultural thing, because such an arrangement is extremely rare where I come from and certainly wouldn't be assumed without a lot of explanation.

That may be because you do? You *are* Mako.

I just never got that. Nowhere when I first read the novella did it seem to imply they shared a bedroom. Tifa makes the point to say "your room". Why not say "your office" if that's what it was? "Go drink in your room" implies separate arrangements.

Where's hito? What's the context for the original sentence?

DEEP BREATHS, MAKO. It will be OK.

Yes! Embrace your hatred! Strike down all Cloti deniers and your journey to the dark side will be complete!

Yes, damn all those who support Cloti! Ban them, destroy them and rip apart their opinions for daring to disagree with you! They cannot be allowed to post here if they deny the glory of Cloti!

*beep beep beep*

Excuse me, I'm getting a phone call.....uh huh....right....Mako, it's CxA. They want their irony back.

There is only one very straightforward assumption: they are in a relationship. Which is not only proven by a whole bunch of other things but is also heavily hinted at in the novella itself.

I think this needs to be emphasized. Going on the assumption that they are in that type of relationship. Then them sharing a bed is the most logical conclusion. Until proven otherwise.

Why do some people have a problem with this?

So they're lovers who share the same house but not the same room?

We have seen Cloud has a bed in his office and we know they definitely weren't sharing a bed while Marlene was in Tifa's. It was also never indicated that Cloud moved rooms some point after Marlene did. So whose to say this is a strange notion when taking this into consideration?

The Japanese just says 'go to room', it doesn't specify who the room belongs to. Although the room with the bed in is definitely Cloud's office because that's precisely what it's called during CoT, Cloud's office. So we know that much.

EDIT: Beaten by Mako!

I must be lost, what forum did Heaven's Cloud find that was more accepting? Didn't they say they COULDN'T find one that was accepting?

Last post evar says: Lucky I did find a forum that accept me, so all sites are not like lifestream or gamefaqs.

Kind of bad English right there, but I'm assuming that there was an accepting forum.

Why do some people have a problem with this?

Because it's an assumption based on an assumption. If the first assumption is wrong the second is wrong by association. And if you use the second assumption (they share a bed) to support the first (they're a couple), then you're just in a logic cycle. "They must be a couple because they share a bed. They must share a bed because they're a couple". See how that doesn't work?

Isabella

If I were to try to prove Cloud and Tifa a couple, them sharing a bed would be the last thing on my list. There's plenty of much more substantial evidence for it.

Again. So Tifa just stood over him, watching him sleep then. That's normal huh? Standing over their bed and watching them sleep, waiting for an answer until morning.

There's something fundamentally obtuse about assuming that for some reason, Tifa would go violate Cloud's privacy, go into his room while he's sleeping late at night, wake him up in his room to ask him a question, and then stand there all night long waiting for an answer and watching him sleep til morning.

That seriously makes no sense. The text does not allude to Tifa being a creepy ass stalker roommate. I don't care how close you are to someone. You don't just wake them up in the middle of the night to ask them an intimate romantic question and then stay there, in their room while they sleep.

Cloud would not just have a perplexed look on his face if Tifa was there in his room standing over him. He'd have been startled. Unless it's a normal thing for people to go into his room at night and wake him up to ask him inane, emotional, couple-like questions.

I want a show of hands of people who've had their platonic roommates walk into their rooms at night, to ask them a question. Please. Come forward and put this subject to rest :monster:
