Shelke doesn't come in until a year after AC. And Barret left before the Strife Delivery Service was formed and thus neccesitating the office. There's no need for anyone to resort to sleeping in that thing.

There's no such thing as an unbiased person, even an "unbiased" person has a bias towards neutrality...if that makes sense. :p. But I won't argue, you have your opinion and it's yours to have.
I never got that either, when is it ever said Tifa and Cloud ran an orphanage? There's 0 evidence for it, not to mention it's plain wrong.

Also, you didn't revert the 'shy smile to Tifa', which I don't think is LTD biased to include (given it's in the scripted and called attention to in the U10, and is what prompted the writing of Cloud Smiles according to Uematsu), but pfeh.
Japanese salarymen and other folks who keep odd hours will sometimes have a spare bed that they may use to sleep in when sleeping in their own bed/home would be too much trouble for them or their loved ones. Hell, sometimes the beds are IN the office building.
Addendum: Orphanage nonsense comes from pre-movie third party speculation. Some people still haven't given up on such. Like that 'MY DREAM' thing the one magazine made up.

After seeing the YouTube debate over the "Cloud smiles" theme, I hate it. Cloud didn't smile at Tifa or Aerith, he smiled because he remembered a good joke Marlene told him on the way back from the Forgotten City.

Yeah, but Uematsu said, flat out 'I saw in the script Cloud smiling shyly, and that's what made me thing of this track' in not so many words. Hate it or not, it's fairly undeniable at this point.

Well... Before AC came out, waaayy before it in fact, back when we only had one trailer and speculation, a couple of magazine sources came out that said Tifa was running an orphanage. Obviously, it turned out to be untrue or at least a twist in the facts because of incomplete information (which is why I don't trust really trust magazine or commercials). Someone editing has selective memory.

Oh I see. I never fully got that bit of CoT and SoS's wording confused me so thanks for clearing that up.
He said he saw 'Cloud smiles', on my DVD. Are you sure? I also believe he said it influenced some of his music, he didn't say it alone inspired him to write the music.
But whatever, by itself the song being influenced either by his smile to Tifa or to Aerith and Zack doesn't mean much to me. There's nothing especially romantic in it just like there isn't in the scene where Cloud finds Tifa unconscious.

I'm going from memory, but the 'Cloud smiles' he refers to is what inspired the song of the same name, and the script says Cloud's shy smile is in response to Tifa, and the U10 shows his smile as being immediately after her bedroom eyes
Well, there is 'where Cloud came to rescue her' or whatever that specific phrase is when it refers to Cloud finding Tifa unconscious, but I get what you mean.
Still, it's worth mentioning, I think. Not because it's ZOMFG LTD related, but A: It's factually correct and B: ties in with Cloud allowing himself to be happy again.

I have no idea who would call it a orphanage, clearly its not. If it were, Tifa would have Terra's problem with all the hoodlums running about. She only has four kids in her house.

That's what I would have thought except the only smile mentioned in the official AC script (released with a special edition of AC), in that ending scene (Uematsu said this 'Cloud smiles' was at the end) is the "shy" one Cloud gives to Tifa. A smile at Aerith and Zack or anyone else after just isn't in the script.
It looked like a general smile of happiness and relief though, so I don't think the ending smile was directed at anybody in particular. Especially since Aerith and Zack had already dissapeared by the time the camera had gone back to Cloud.

The smile was at Tifa, period. You see them look at each other in the movie and they both return each others affection. Makes perfect sense, since the whole movie is about Cloud returning to his family and back with Tifa again.
The expression he gives Aerith and Zack is one of shock since he's seeing two damn dead people standing among the living. It's only until he hears Aerith's words that he relaxes and agrees, saying he's not alone anymore.

Just watch the ending scene again. Cloud spots Aerith, Aerith walks to door, Cloud is going O.O at her, Aerith does a slow-mo turn and says everything's alright, she turns back to face the door, Zack does a little wave, they walk into the white light and dissapear and then the camera switches back to Cloud who then very gradually smiles.
So, as I said, Aerith and Zack had already left the church before Cloud smiled. Of course he could well have been smiling after them, in fact that's more along the lines of what I think. But he wasn't smiling at them because they weren't there to be smiled at.

Yeah, possibly. All comes down to how each person wants to see it. As we hear his internal monologue of "I'm not alone, not anymore" while he smiles that's why I personally think it's more of a personal smile for Cloud than directed at either of them.
