Raquelborn, if you wish to think that they were calling at WRO, I'm not going to argue over that.

I always assumed the scene took place simultaneously. Not in sequence. Instead of a hard cut/edit a back and forth in the midst of battle they just laid it out in a linear fashion to avoid confusion. Which apparently they didn't do...

Barret can be shooting up the sky at the same moment Tifa is doing a back-flip and Cloud can (and DOES) call Tifa after his arrival. The fact that we see Tifa answer the phone "after" we see Cloud is hardly an issue when we assume all of the action is happening at the same time.

I don't see anyone reporting in to the WRO, considering REEVE is battleside and KNOWS what's going on....

But that just might be my rabid Clotiness. **shrug**

EDIT: TNC Clerith arguments make me giggle.

And because I'm feeling particularly nit-picky....

Because it's not shown it doesn't happen?

Weren't you--not too long ago, even--arguing things like Cloud's office was his bedroom because we never see another room or a switch...and physical intimacy during the Highwind scene didn't happen because it's not shown...?

I could be wrong, and I'm too lazy to go re-read a hundred pages of arguments, but I could swear you were one of the people arguing those things. Huh...

Here's the thing, context and common sense go a long way in arguments, and the idea of calling and checking in with the WRO isn't OUT of the realm of possibility, but given the circumstances and the fact that WRO had limited involvement for the "end-game" battle (all on Vincent) and that Reeve was RIGHT THERE, it's not the most likely scenario. :neo:

So apropos of nothing.

Does anyone else want to vomit blood when certain people describe Cloud looking at Aerith (or anything they think they can relate to her) with words like "rapture" and "mesmerize".

As if Cloud is creaming his pants every time he sees/senses her. Seriously, just because your pants get wet when you see Aerith, quit projecting that onto Cloud.

They can't. Projection is their bread and butter.

Ryu's right. I project myself onto Cloud, at which point I imagine projecting myself into Aerith....

What pisses me off more is when they write pages and pages of such stuff and use it as proof that Cloud loves Aerith. Something like "look at the awe and love on his face, it's obvious he's in heaven after hearing her voice." First they add debatable emotions to the scene and then they use it as proof!

Meh that's better than this "Tifa bullied Cloud as a kid" bullshit.

Honestly what part of "Childhood friends" DO YOU NOT FUCKING UNDERSTAND?

Yep, our good friend Naru brought that up in an interview. She said he was subject to... ijime I believe... which is basically just "bullying" in Japan. And some of them actually believe Tifa did this to Cloud.... it makes me so sad that people can be so wrong and believe they're so right :(

Oh, wow, Naru's ijime argument. That brings back memories of past LTDs waged on the battlefields of the GameFAQs message boards. Try explaining that 'Tifa was ignorant of Cloud's desire to be closer to her' meaning something very different from 'Tifa ignored Cloud's desire to be closer to her', and they'll bite your head off.

Clerith's hatred for Tifa is perfectly understandable, since she's the only woman SE confirmed ever being Cloud's love interest.

Just go read Tifa bashing thread (the longest character bashing thread at C/A) and Clerith.com essays.

They simply go out of their way to make Tifa look like a villain:
She bullied Cloud when they were kids;
Forced a promise on him;
Forced him to fulfill his promise;
And don't forget her nagging habit!

Part of my argument over where Cloud sleeps was to do with it never being indicated he slept in the same bed as Tifa while we are shown a bed in his office that is very likely to be his and his alone. But I said nothing about a switch and I believe we're in agreement over the Highwind scene so that wasn't me either. (Also, no one start the Cloud sleeps at X argument with me again because we all went through it a couple of weeks ago).

Yeah, that's fair enough. I just took the scene differently when I heard it with English audio, that's all. Nevermind.

Who... is Naru?

I love this girl. She's basically quite a bit like Tifa in some ways. The LTD in Love Hina is also very much like this LTD, especially since Mutsumi looks and acts so similar to Aerith.

Every time I read your posts, I am enraptured and mesmerized, like Cloud is each time he looks at Aerith. You can't see otherwise in his ever-unchanging facial expression in the video game.

Fair enough. I wasn't sure if it was you or not. ;)

Naru was the original Japanese interviewee on the Destiny Fulfilled site. She gave us some of the original classic gems of ltd wisdom, such as the mysterious wapanese clerith symbolism that is beyond the comprehension of mere non-wapanese mortals. Some rapid cloti detractors speculate that Naru is a figment of anastar's fervent imagination.
