Why not speak to someone else, act as an intermediary, such as the children, or Tifa, or anyone, really?
She has this power, and she uses it to speak with Kadaj, Tifa, the entire city of Edge...
So why not communicate with them?

And again- What about Zack? He has, it seems, once again been ignored as far as this theory goes.

Anyway, I don't buy that guilt thing. Lifestream White shows that for the majority of the time she was busy doing other things, like trying to save people. Because, to the surprise of everyone, a female character does not revolve around just being some dude's love interest. Sometimes they have dynamic roles. I took it as that when she contacted Cloud, it was when she had no other choice, saw that he was at a fragile state and then tried to help him.

Oh, right, MoTP ... the story in which Aerith sees Cloud's inner self, realizes he belongs with Tifa, and gives them her blessing. I'll never understand why they embrace that thing, even when all common sense says it's official fanfic.

lol Ditto. MoTP is more Cloti than anything. I don't really understand where in that story Clerith is ever proven. The only reason why they embraced it was Aerith's comment about loving Cloud more than Zack in the beginning of the story, because as we all know if Aerith loves Cloud then it just HAS to mean ht loves her back. I mean it's impossible for Aerith to think of Cloud romantically without him feeling the same way right back at her. It's just impossible, isn't it?

You know, if you ignore the fact that Aerith realized the Cloud she knew was false later on, and how in her denial of that fact she thought of the very things she liked best about him and that those very things ended up awakening Zack from the Lifestream since the things that Aerith liked best about Cloud turned out to be the things he absorbed from Zack.

Oh and then yes there's that part where Aerith realizes that Tifa is the one for Cloud and also realizes that only Tifa can help him so she gives them her blessing and yada yada.

But that fic is totally Clerith, let me tell you.

Agreed. Also, aren't we told she appears to those pained and confused. Isn't the most sound explanation that she appears to people who need to see her?

No. I think she and Zack could only appear because the circumstance, both with Cloud and Sephiroth's threat to the world had made the lifestream turbulent enough that it now more resembled the farplane of FF10, which was far easier for the dead to use to reappear or even ressurect themselves by.
They appeared NOW because they couldn't appear earlier, even though they were needed earlier.

Even with MoTP, it still does not explain why she wouldn't use an intermediary, as she was to Dyne and Eleanor.
