Wait, who is a trooper here?
The guy who recognizes Cloud and says he'll go grab Kunsel.
I'm not sure Crisis Core established a deep-seated hatred between all SOLDIERs and regular troops. Isn't it just like that one dude in Sector 8 who's annoyed that Zack's stepping on his turf? Reno had the same complaint.
It's not that unbelievable, since Cloud himself was already an exception himself, a grunt being friends with Zack, a SOLDIER.Ok, but the troopers' willingness to help out SOLDIER flies in the face of the antagonism and rivalry established between them in CC. But sure, let's just say these two guys are the exception.
You are, big guy!Wait, who is a trooper here?
Yes, IMO this chapter is a treat.I've just started this chapter. The exterior of the Shinra building looks super impressive. Super duper impressive.
I've spent about five minutes just looking up at it.
I've become aware that a lot of people think the ending of the game is a slap in the face and throws away a lot of the immense good will built up by the respect to the source material so far.
I have no idea what happens that causes this response, but I'm going in with an open mind and just being happy that I even got this much fantastic recreation of a pivotal story in my childhood.
Maybe I'll be one of the people who hates it, maybe I'll love it.
Here goes somethin'.
Has anyone who took the stairs gone back down and got a hidden Tifa and Barret dialogue where she talks about Nibelheim?
I wasn't expecting it to be true, so no. Basically Barret mentions Tifa's parents, Cloud says to ask her if he's curious. Barret says "OK, I respect a guy like that" and Cloud jokes, "you respect a hard ass?"Did you record it by chance? I haven't seen any videos of that bonus dialogue anywhere.

I'm paraphrasing, but that's the gist.
Actually Cloud and Tifa never actually appeared in the bombing Livestream (it was just recycled footage of part of the Reactor 1 raid), so their faces aren’t known. And Barret only appeared briefly in it, so I suppose you could just chalk it up to people not paying attention well and/or more Mayor Domino intervention. Either way, even in the OG, the Shinra building break-in always pushed the suspension of disbelief more than other parts of the narrative.I've been sitting on this game for a while now, and almost done. I'm still having a blast, but the dumb parts about it are starting to stick out like a sore thumb.
Example, how the fuck does no one in the Shinra building not recognize anyone from the bombing live stream.
I could look past that in the slums due to not having access to that kind of tech. Even then, Barret and co. are constantly yelling AVALACHE!!! everywhere they go how the fuck are we supposed to believe this is a secret.
That being said, Mayor Domino truly is the best
