Late Summer
· Genesis is injured in the training room. While being treated by Hollander, he learns from him the secrets about his birth and body; demanding a means to be saved from his deterioration, he allies himself with Hollander

· Lazard is contacted by Hollander and agrees to a plan of treason against Shin-Ra. Lazard begins providing him funding

10th Month
· Genesis, who had been dispatched to Wutai, deserts, taking with him a great host of SOLDIERs 2nd and 3rd Class (the SOLDIER Mass Desertion Incident)

· Hollander steals classified documents from the Science Department and disappears

11th Month
· SOLDIER 2nd Class Zack is sent to Wutai with Angeal to replace Genesis. Angeal disappears

12th Month
· Rufus Shinra assumes the position of vice president. He goes on a long-term business trip

· Zack and Tseng go to Banora Village. Genesis’s army was making use of the village as a base, so Shin-Ra destroyed it via aerial bombing to erase the evidence

· AVALANCHE, an anti-Shin-Ra organization based in Wutai, intensifies its activities

· Angeal and Genesis are officially announced killed in the line of duty

· Cissnei of the Turks undertakes a secret assignment to keep Zack under surveillance

· Zack and Aerith are introduced at the church in the slums

Autumn
· Zack goes on an investigation mission to Modeoheim and meets Cloud

· After battling Genesis and Angeal, Zack inherits the Buster Sword

· Hollander is held in custody at Shin-Ra’s Junon branch

· Junon and various other places are attacked simultaneously. Hollander escapes

Seventh Month
· Lazard and Hollander are officially announced killed in the line of duty

· Genesis’s army begins raiding mako reactors in various places

Around 9/22
· Zack, Sephiroth and Cloud visit the Nibel mako reactor as an investigation team

10/1
· Sephiroth burns Nibelheim and then falls into the Nibel mako reactor. He’s declared dead

· Zack and Cloud become experiment samples

Tenth Month
· Sephiroth, Zack and the other members of the Nibelheim investigation team are publicly announced to be dead
