Final Fantasy XV lore main menu

Compiled by Glenn Morrow

Leide

Reapertail

A large arthropod that thrives in dry climates. Though normally slow-moving, it can crawl through the sand with surprising swiftness and sting enemies with its barbed tail. Its venom gland shrank as its body grew, though, making its stinger relatively harmless.

Size: 13.55 ft. Weight: 291.4 lb.

Sabertusk

Alpha
An omnivorous and ferocious four-legged beast known to form packs and ravage the land. According to legend, it was once the guard dog of the king. Plagued by hunger, however, it ate the young prince, and this canine was cursed to suffer in its current form.

Size: 12.69 ft. Weight: 472.4 lb.

Sabertusk

Beta
A beast that has tormented mankind for ages. It wanders the wilderness, surrounding and attacking prey in a violent whirlwind of claws and fangs. This deadly foe should be slain on sight.

Size: 13.18 ft. Weight: 492.7 lb.

Sabertusk

Gamma
The most assertive of sabertusks. Though not all packs possess a leader, those led by an alphatusk are observed to exhibit more aggression. Some have even reported sabertusks rampaging through houses miles from their own natural habitat.

Size: 13.71 ft. Weight: 523.8 lb.

Flexitusk

An albino variant of the sabertusk seldom sighted roaming the plains of Leide. Many believe flexitusks to be more violent than their common counterparts, but scientists have yet to obtain sufficient figures to draw a definitive conclusion. Some have also noted a rise in flexitusk numbers immediately following military conflicts, but no data exists to support such speculation.

Size: 13.51 ft. Weight: 481.7 lb.

Mesmenir

Alpha
A mild-mannered, herbivorous creature with a large, blade-like horn atop its head. Thanks to its long and limber legs, the mesmenir can gallop at speeds that rival an automobile. Its vehicular potential is wasted, however, as this creature is not domesticated enough to ride.

Size: 11.54 ft. Weight: 1,570.1 lb.

Mesmenir

Beta
A subspecies of mesmenir spotted in the wilderness far from its natural habitat. Mesmenir in barren areas often lack the mild disposition normally attributed with their brethren. There have been numerous reports of rookie hunters losing their lives after foolishly approaching one and receiving a swift pair of hooves to the head.

Size: 11.71 ft. Weight: 1,596.8 lb.

Magnanir

A subspecies of mesmenir with a wild disposition. Some hunters have taken to climbing onto manganirs’ backs and competing to see who can hang on the longest—a highly dangerous pastime that has led to several problems among the administration at Meldacio HQ.

Size: 17.98 ft. Weight: 2.43 t

Dualhorn

Alpha
A large, two-horned herbivore commonly found throughout Leide. Using their sturdy legs to support them, they charge at enemies with their entire body weight. Their rough, armor-like skin protects them from both hunters and the heat.

Size: 15.19 ft. Weight: 3.72 t

Dualhorn

Beta
A male dualhorn spotted near Scotham Clough. He will venture far from his typical habitat in order to expand his territory. Upon entering a new area, the male often grows extremely wary and will lash out at those he feels could pose a threat.

Size: 21.12 ft. Weight: 13.95 t

Ashenhorn

A subspecies of dualhorn, lighter in color than the rest. Even a single ashenhorn is more dangerous than an entire herd of dualhorns. Countless rookie hunters have lost their lives trying to fell this beast while foraging for food; the irony is that ashenhorn meat is unfit for human consumption.

Size: 16.79 ft. Weight: 6.67 t

Grandhorn

A subspecies of dualhorn with a sturdy build and a stalwart stature. The grandhorn is rumored to charge with enough force to topple even the king of beasts himselfthe behemoth. Its wild behavior inspired the Hunters’ saying to “charge in like a grandhorn,” words meant to instill courage and dispel doubt before a difficult mission.

Size: 24.31 ft. Weight: 21.34 t

Bloodhorn

Alpha
A daemonic dualhorn recognized by its red horns and tusks. What it lacks in strength, it makes up for in agility. Reported to be extraordinarily aggressive, it is best approached with caution and disposed of with efficiency.

Size: 27.69 ft. Weight: 31.89 t

Bloodhorn

Beta
A bloodhorn variant inhabiting the Duscae region. Although originally discovered in Leide, this half-daemon was recently spotted by a group of hunters exploring the Mencemoor. This savage creature not only boasts great agility, but also possesses more strength than its dualhorn cousins.

Size: 28.08 ft. Weight: 34.33 t

Anak

Alpha
A long-necked herbivore living in Leide. Scientists suspect its spine lengthened over time so it could pick the leaves and fruits off tall trees in an otherwise barren region. The females create herds around prominent males and raise their young together.

Size: 20.76 ft. Weight: 4.87 t

Anak

Beta
A female anak that migrates with an anakadom. Females with a mate or children are normally passive and do not display aggression toward others, but unpartnered anak have been known to attack passing cars to relieve frustration when mating season approaches.

Size: 21.26 ft. Weight: 4.92 t

Anak Stag

A long-necked herbivore living in Leide. During mating season, the male can be seen showing off its antlers to the females and threatening other males with them. Biologists note this intimidating display is quite anomalous for a creature known for its otherwise gentle disposition.

Size: 24.01 ft. Weight: 7.05 t

Anak Calf

A long-necked herbivore living in Leide. Antlers do not begin growing in for several years; thus, a young anak’s gender cannot be determined from afar. Calves typically feed on small trees and grasses, as well as fruit picked from taller trees by their parents.

Size: 13.81 ft. Weight: 1.49 t

Anaklaban

A white-tinged anak almost genetically identical to her brethren. Her unique color is a byproduct of her environment that works in her favor when looking for a mate. Hunters view her presence as a threat, however, as males become aggressive while vying for her affection—with some inadvertently lashing out at humans.

Size: 21.75 ft. Weight: 5.08 t

Anakadom

A red-tinged anak almost genetically identical to her brethren. Her color is advantageous when trying to attract a mate. Unfortunately, her enticing hue also creates chaotic competition among all other anak in the area—male and female alike—so hunters try to take down these red rogues as quickly as possible.

Size: 21.35 ft. Weight: 5.03 t

Stoneshears

Land-dwelling crustacean that pierces its prey with a pair of powerful pincers. Its sturdy shell is made of a much stronger substance than the chitinous material that composes the carapaces of common crabs. Unlike the Cygillan crab, however, the stoneshears possess very little edible meat.

Size: 6.46 ft. Weight: 745.3 t

Rubyshears

Bright-underbellied subspecies of stoneshears. Much like its progenitor, the rubyshears prefers the shade of caves and Cliffsides. When mating season rolls around, several of the strongest specimens start patrolling the area around the nest, attacking any and all who approach.

Size: 6.62 ft. Weight: 765.0 t

Sparkshears

Crimson-colored subspecies of stoneshears. It swings its claw skyward with a flash of red, then sends it crashing back down to crush opponents. This carnivorous crustacean has been known to prey on any who approach, causing concern among beachgoers.

Size: 16.86 ft. Weight: 5.73 t

Coeurl

Alpha
Lean and limber predator whose whiskers acquire charge from naturally-occurring electric particles in the atmosphere, giving it the ability to project current. The sly coeurl will often wait patiently by hunter-laid traps and steal the quarry for itself.

Size: 19.42 ft. Weight: 1,793 lb.

Coeurl

Beta
The coeurl is capable of psionic communication via its whiskers, which transmit thought at a specific frequency over considerable distances, making the coeurl that cohabitates Scotham Clough with an elder coeurl twice as cunning.

Size: 19.29 ft. Weight: 1,770.7 lb.

Coeurl

Gamma
A denizen of the depths of Daurell Caverns that has abandoned its pack instinct in order to better hunt within cave confines. This acquired self-reliance expresses itself in a ferocity and fortitude that far surpasses anything exhibited by its open-air brethren.

Size: 20.11 ft. Weight: 1,924.4 lb.

Daggerquill

Brightly colored bird boasting extremely tough tail feathers. Its pretty plumage is a familiar sight to the folks of Leide, who hunt the bird for sport. Daggerquill down is often sewn into the lining of coats and blankets for added warmth. Farmers in the region even use daggerquill droppings to rejuvenate infertile soil.

Size: 8.36 ft. Weight: 192.2 lb.

Cactuar

Alpha
Quick-footed creature shrouded in mystery. Rumors about this legendary spiny sprinter running across the continent date back to antiquity, yet few have actually seen the cactuar with their own eyes. It is said to launch exactly 1,000 needles at its foes in self-defense, but biologists have yet to find an explanation for the precision of its attack.

Size: 2.36 ft. Weight: 12.7 lb.

Cactuar

Beta
Cactaur that appeared in great number in the Causcherry Plains of Duscae, scientists were stumped by this occurrence since the cactuar typically prefers a life of solitude. Thankfully for Duscaean citizens, the Hunters quickly quelled the situation, now known as “The Night of 100,000 Needles.”

Size: 2.33 ft. Weight: 11.9 lb.

Cactuar

Gamma
Cactuar encountered atop the Duscaean Arches. While it may seem strange to find anything but birds so far above ground, some biologists hypothesize this specimen ascended to such heights in order to aid its own pollination process, implying that the cactuar is an anemophilous species.

Size: 2.36 ft. Weight: 12.5 lb.

Slactuar

Alpha
Quick-footed creature that enjoys lazing around. Much like its speedy sibling, the slactuar has rarely been spotted in the wild. Perhaps because of its proclivity toward resting up whenever possible, this cactuar subspecies exhibits slightly more resilience than its progenitor.

Size: 2.39 ft. Weight: 13.0 lb.

Slactuar

Beta
Slactuar that appeared in great number in the Causcherry Plains of Duscae. Hunters and scientists alike were baffled by this sudden and unprecedented outbreak, now dubbed “The Night of 100,000 Needles.” Biologists have set out to understand why this surge in population occurred, but their research has not yet borne fruit.

Size: 2.36 ft. Weight: 12.7 lb.

Slactuar

Gamma
Slactuar encountered atop the Duscaean Arches. Scientists have proposed several theories regarding why everyone’s favorite flora was discovered so far above sea level, the most prominent of which being that the slactuar wanted to relax and enjoy a nice view where humans would never tread.

Size: 2.39 ft. Weight: 13.0 lb.

Gigantaur

Enormous cactuar that has spent many moons running around the entire world of Eos. It is said that the longer a cactuar runs, the more it grows. Some especially long-lived gigantaur have even surpassed adult humans in height. Because of its excessive size, however, the gigantaur is viewed by many as a threat and thus targeted by the Hunters.

Size: 8.36 ft. Weight: 536.6 lb.

Rogue Behemoth

Subspecies spotted prowling the ruins of northern Leide. When one behemoth encroaches upon another’s territory, a vicious battle ensues, with the stronger beast claiming the space as its own. This specimen is one such displaced creature, now weary from wandering in search of a new home.

Size: 68.40 ft. Weight: 164.61 t

Behemoth

Dubbed “King of the Beasts,” this ferocious creature possesses power nigh unparalleled throughout the animal kingdom. Its name is said to have been derived from the Astral similarly revered for his peerless strength and feared for his overwhelming aura: the Bladekeeper, Bahamut.

Size: 69.98 ft. Weight: 173.43 t

Jormungand

Alpha
Sizable serpent with a fire burning in its belly. Its cellular composition includes large quantities of carbonized metal, allowing it to produce and spew forth scorching heat without burning itself. Controlling its own body temperature requires considerable effort, however, and the jormungand thus often retreats to the cool waters of the sewers to recover.

Size: 133.03 ft. Weight: 105.35 t

Jormungand

Beta
Jormungand spotted slithering around the sewers of Lucis. This specimen was first encountered by an experienced explorer while searching for a certain piece of machinery. With no one left to maintain the underground aqueducts, it fell to the Hunters to exterminate this beast.

Size: 134.41 ft. Weight: 108.34 t

Jormungand

Gamma
Jormungand discovered in a set of ancient Solheim ruins. Having adapted to the harsh underground atmosphere, its strength easily surpasses that of similar serpents. The blaze burning within its body is said to grow stronger every year. One could only imagine what sort of havoc it might wreak were it ever to head above ground.

Size: 135.43 ft. Weight: 124.27 t

Bennu

Subspecies of zu dubbed the “blue-winged terror” due to the hue of its plumage. Much like the zu, it flies in from afar during breeding season. Although deemed quite dangerous, the bennu is a relatively low priority target for the Hunters due to the infrequency with which it appears and the risk of intense retaliation should the hunt fail.

Size: 309.12 ft. Weight: 4,687.53 t

Manxom

Accursed draconic monster mentioned in the myths of Eos. Its fantastical features seem to spit in the face of evolutionary science. Some suggest it may be the ancestral origin of all reptilian life, but scientists have uncovered no evidence to support this claim.

Size: 101.96 ft. Weight: 221.05 t

Behemoth King

Alpha
Lord of all beasts, made mightier and more menacing by a sudden mutation that caused it to sprout great wings. Even the most psychotic of daemons dares not approach the king, whose blood-chilling roar is infused with the power of ice.

Size: 92.42 ft. Weight: 451.68 t

Behemoth King

Beta
A king among kings, this subspecies of behemoth kneels before no beast. It bounds in to an area without warning, upending the entire local ecosystem in so doing. Its tendency to strike suddenly and violently has drawn comparisons to the unforeseen falling of the Meteor in the age of the gods.

Size: 92.06 ft. Weight: 442.34 t

Adamantoise

Largest and oldest living creature known to man. Said to have been born at the dawn of time itself, the adamantoise first appears in documents produced circa the advent of the Kingdom of Lucis. According to said records, metal procured from its shell was used in the construction of conduits used to channel the Crystal’s power into the Wall around the Crown City.

Size: 2,340.97 ft. Weight: 17,398,421.50 t

Duscae

Garula

Alpha
Large quadrupedal mammal that forms herds around a matriarch. Although this gentle giant can be found all across Eos, it resides mainly in the plains of Duscae. Gentle by nature, the Garula only attacks when provoked.

Size: 15.68 ft. Weight: 9.21 t

Garula

Beta
Garula that got separated from its herd. A life of solitude has hardened this once gentle giant’s heart. Although most garula will reunite with their original herds after a period of grazing solo, these loners are known to occasionally form new herds with other outsiders.

Size: 15.88 ft. Weight: 9.52 t

Garulet

Young garula still learning how to walk. Despite viewing the garulessa as a maternal figure, the garulet does not rely on a single mother for support, instead being raised by the herd as a whole. If one of their young is threatened, the mother garula will all band together to take down the attacker and protect the garulet from harm.

Size: 8.89 ft. Weight: 1.74 t

Green Garula

Subspecies of garula with a verdant hue. This beast once inhabited the western reaches of the Lucian continent, but it gradually migrated eastward, now sharing the plains of Duscae with its more common yet physiologically identical counterparts.

Size: 16.24 ft. Weight: 9.80 t

Garulessa

Alpha
Enormous garulan mother, chosen from among the other females in the herd. After proving herself in a fierce competition for superiority, the garulessa puts her impressive musculature to use, defending her herd from the threat of outsiders by unleashing an aggressive assault.

Size: 23.55 ft. Weight: 31.10 t

Garulessa

Beta
Garulessa who has lost her herd to humans or hungry beasts. Turned savage in her despair, she now lashes out at any and all who approach—a cause for considerable alarm among the Hunters. Some specimens have even been known to turn against their own, blinded by rage.

Size: 23.68 ft. Weight: 31.36 t

Voretooth

Alpha
Close cousin of the sabertusk. Similar to its relative, the voretooth hunts in packs and ravages crops around Duscae. Unlike the sabertusk, however, this predator developed a venom gland in its tail through evolution, which allows it to fell foes much larger than itself.

Size: 12.92 ft. Weight: 475.1 t

Voretooth

Beta
Ferocious vorteooth that has marked the Malacchi Hills of eastern Duscae as its territory. Concerned for wild birds inhabiting the same area, Chocobo Post owner Wiz Forlane called in a request to the Hunters to exterminate this voracious omnivore.

Size: 13.18 ft. Weight: 481.4 lb.

Voretooth

Gamma
Voretooth lurking deep below the Daurell Caverns. A single one of these beasts possesses enough to plow through an entire pack of its superterranean siblings. Scientists suggest said strength is resultant of adapting to the harsh conditions underground.

Size: 13.51 ft. Weight: 525.1 lb.

Voretooth

Delta
Voretooth said to spend most of its time traipsing through the Balouve Mines. Although the species as a whole possesses subterranean tendencies, this particular specimen has demonstrated power far greater than that of its peers. Those who venture into the mines are advised to exercise caution—and pack a few antidotes just in case.

Size: 14.04 ft. Weight: 533.7 lb.

Yellowtooth

Slightly jaundiced variant of the voretooth. It stalks the Alstor Slough, waiting for its prey to get stuck in the muck, then launching a pack-wide attack. The threat of a yellowtooth ambush has scared many would-be anglers away from Neeglyss Pond in recent years, but the Hunters are hoping to rectify the situation at long last.

Size: 13.64 ft. Weight: 491.4 lb.

Bulette

Alpha
Carnivorous creature with a sturdy shell on its back. In spite of its sluggish appearance, it charges forward at impressive speeds when it curls up into a ball. The lines that line its shell function not only as a defense mechanism, but as a means of increasing torque when rolling.

Size: 9.97 ft. Weight: 1.24 t

Bulette

Beta
Bulette sighted rolling around southern Duscae alongside a variant species. If its combative impulses are not sated for an extended period of time, this beast may lash out at its companions. Herds split by such strife grow even more aggressive, wreaking havoc on civilian homes and thusly earning the ire of the Hunters.

Size: 10.23 ft. Weight: 1.28 t

Skarnbulette

Bulette specimen noted for its red pigmentation. While this genetic anomaly is naturally occurring, few have been spotted in the wild. The skarnbulette is responsible for much of the in-fighting observed among bulette herds and is often seen later leading the charge against unsuspecting civilians.

Size: 10.33 ft. Weight: 1.45 t

Killer Bee

Alpha
Oversized insect said to have grown through continued exposure to the warmth of the Meteor. A highly social creature, each bee fulfills a specific role in the colony. In the case of the killer bee, it primarily procures food for its brethren and defends the hive from any who would do it harm.

Size: 3.87 ft. Weight: 46.9 lb.

Killer Bee

Beta
Killer bee responsible for a bevy of reported attacks along the Coernix Bypass. While this insect primarily forages for food, it is also known to preemptively attack potential aggressors—a tendency that deters future homeowners from purchasing real estate near nests.

Size: 3.87 ft. Weight: 47.4 lb.

Brutal Bee

Subspecies of killer bee tasked with keeping the queen from harm. Its red pigmentation serves as a warning to predators. Those who approach the hive undaunted by danger suffer a series of stings they will not soon forget. This specimen’s aggressive tendencies have earned it a top spot on the Hunters’ bounty list.

Size: 3.93 ft. Weight: 48.0 lb.

Dynoaevis

Close relative of the daggerquill. Having adapted to the sweltering heat and turbulent updrafts of the Disc of Cauthess, the dynoaevis soars around the complex chasms with ease. It possesses few natural predators and thus lives in relative peace, but is also quite sensitive to any substance in its environment.

Size: 8.23 ft. Weight: 45.2 lb.

Hundlegs

Alpha
Large arthropod most commonly sighted in sticky swamps and forests. Though rather small in its incipient stages, the hundlegs multiplies in size as it develops, growing larger than most humans after a few years and continuing to grow until it dies.

Size: 17.84 ft. Weight: 453.7 lb.

Hundlegs

Beta
Hundlegs that struggles to survive in an area low on sustenance. This specimen boasts incredible strength but is otherwise biologically identical to the common hundlegs.

Size: 18.11 ft. Weight: 461.6 lb.

Redlegs

Green-shelled, crimson-legged subspecies of hundlegs originally sighted near the Taelpar Rest Area. Able to survive even the most arid of climates, this omnivorous insect has gradually grown its sphere of influence to include drier regions as well. This continuous expansion has caused concern among the Hunters.

Size: 18.40 ft. Weight: 470.6 lb.

Gigantoad

Alpha
Abnormally large amphibian found all across Duscae. Although typically limited to living near bodies of water, the gigantoad is known to venture outside of its figurative comfort zone during downpours—much to the surprise of unsuspecting hikers.

Size: 22.57 ft. Weight: 27.65 t

Gigantoad

Beta
The toad is one of the oldest denizens of Eos, dating back to the age of gods, and the gigantoad is among the eldest extant species. Its large organs can withstand the toxins of polluted waters, and its capacity to retain water can sustain it for days, even in desert conditions.

Size: 22.60 ft. Weight: 27.66 t

Arba

Alpha
Long-necked, arc-horned herbivore whose only known surviving relative is the anak, though fossilized remains suggest an extended family of numerous offshoot species that have since gone extinct. With weaker chromatic vision than the anak, the arba tends to favor size as a primary criterion when selecting a mate.

Size: 30.34 ft. Weight: 14.87 t

Arba

Beta
This notoriously voracious grazer has been led away from its native habitat by the arbagadol, and could potentially wreak havoc on the ecosystem of the Kelbass Grasslands if left to feed unfettered.

Size: 30.54 ft. Weight: 14.95 t

Arbagadol

An arba specimen that has grown to enormous proportions. Its awe-inspiring immensity renders it irresistible to mate-seeking arba, and the exorbitant bounty on its horns renders it irresistible to hunters hard up for gil.

Size: 47.54 ft. Weight: 61.38 t

Elder Coeurl

Alpha
While lacking pigment on the whole, the hide of this subspecies is often flecked with black spots. This is one of several evolutionary offshoots of the common coeurl, born of the breed’s ability to thrive amid a variety of harsh conditions.

Size: 19.94 ft. Weight: 1,880.7 lb.

Elder Coeurl

Beta
A vindictive elder coeurl seen stalking Thommels Glade. At the moment of death, coeurls have been observed to electromagnetically transmit a sort of “psionic death cry” that will summon elder coeurls in the area to reap reprisal, and this specimen has proven particularly vengeful.

Size: 20.07 ft. Weight: 1,885.8 lb.

Elder Coeurl

Gamma
An elder coeurl in common company at Scotham Clough. After the Taelpar Rest Area dropped off the communications grid, a pack was seen to form in the vicinity, possibly in reaction to the presence of some greater menace.

Size: 20.11 ft. Weight: 1,889.5 lb.

Elder Coeurl

Delta
An elder coeurl accustomed to older underground dwellings. The lack of atmospheric exposure has heightened the sensitivity of its whiskers, boosting the voltage of their charge to levels beyond those of its surface brethren. The sensitive whiskers also serve as a sensor in the dark, alerting the coeurl to the biological currents of nearby foes.

Size: 20.37 ft. Weight: 2,013.4 lb.

Griffon

Alpha
A great bird that can awe with a flap of its sublime wings, and soothe with the grace of its glide. The majestic avian is never seen scrounging for carrion, giving it an air of sanctity that has elicited worship among some—though as far as gods go, the griffon would be a most wrathful one.

Size: 26.21 ft. Weight: 5.68 t

Griffon

Beta
A griffon that makes its nest high atop Duscae. Though it is said the griffon goes days at a time without landing for rest, the rare times the avian has been sighted on the ground, it has been seen in the woodlands. This behavior is presumed to take place after the griffon has fed, but it would seem a full belly makes the beast no less ferocious.

Size: 26.51 ft. Weight: 5.73 t

Deadeye

The behemoth Deadeye lurks under the mists of the Nebulawood, notorious for laying waste to habitat and hunter alike. Those triumphs, however, have come at the cost of an eye and a horn.

Size: 73.16 ft. Weight: 219.86 t

Behemoth Tyrant

A new terror stalks the Nebulawood in the wake of Deadeye’s passing, taking up residence in the infamous behemoth’s old lair, and following in its foregoer’s furious footsteps.

Size: 77.92 ft. Weight: 245.53 t

Catoblepas

The fable surrounding the Catoblepas holds that the great beast once had a second eye that turned all who met its gaze to stone, but when the solitude grew too much to bear, the catoblepas swallowed its own eye, hiding it from the world forevermore.

Size: 153.70 ft. Weight: 233.28 t

Kujata

The scimitar-like horns and vicious temper of this beast make it hard to believe the kujata is not a carnivore, but it seems content to hold its own in the world of “eat or be eaten.” Its horns are sturdy and lightweight, owing to their hollow insides, making them ideal lances with which to charge foes.

Size: 52.88 ft. Weight: 207.40 t

Molokujata

The red kujata is a breed seemingly overwrought with bloodlust. From the moment of birth this species shows wildly aggressive tendencies, attacking siblings, parents, and anything else that moves.

Size: 54.23 ft. Weight: 209.52 t

Phalaris

Alpha
While the kujata is a herbivore at heart, alternate habitats necessitate dietary compromises. The blue kujata swallows living prey whole, letting its multiple stomachs do the work of gradually killing and then digesting game.

Size: 54.52 ft. Weight: 210.86 t

Phalaris

Beta
This phalaris, seen on the Causcherry Plains of Duscae, is an omnivorous relative of the kujata given to devouring its prey whole before killing it. Local lore tells of men being eaten alive, their screams ringing out into the night.

Size: 54.39 ft. Weight: 210.34 t

Jabberwock

Alpha
Large lizard lurking in the depths of Costlemark Tower. Descendant of tiny reptiles who dwelled above ground, the winged jabberwock evolved over tens of thousands of years into the formidable form it boasts today. Given that it survived the War of the Astrals, some even consider this creature to be a living fossil of sorts.

Size: 97.93 ft. Weight: 210.93 t

Jabberwock

Beta
Stronger, more ferocious jabberwock whose origins are as of yet unknown. Having considered the hypothetical threat it would pose should it ever venture out of the underground, the Hunters have placed a high-priority bounty on its head.

Size: 100.95 ft. Weight: 221.43 t

Grootslang

Relative of the midgardsormr previously believed extinct. Folk tales rumor the beast to be the harbinger of a plague, and sightings invariably induce panic among the people. While links to a contagion are yet unproven, its ominous presence nevertheless warrants caution.

Size: 108.59 ft. Weight: 44.36 t

Bilröst

Subspecies of jormungand sleeping in the deepest cavern of Costlemark Tower. Although biologically classified as a serpent, the bilröst has evolved in such a way over the millenia that it now bears almost no resemblance to its land-dwelling counterparts.

Size: 135.79 ft. Weight: 125.38 t

Cleigne

Saberclaw

Alpha
Relative of the sabertusk indigenous to the mountains of Cleigne. Its claws, while menacing, pale in comparison to its brutal fangs, which are capable of ripping flesh, bone, and even metal to ribbons before regenerating anew.

Size: 16.93 ft. Weight: 569.0 lb.

Saberclaw

Beta
Saberclaw spotted in Pallareth Pass, north of Lestallum. Hunters were dispatched to rid the area of the saberclaw packs that were raiding ration-carrying trucks and any other cars that passed through the area. This remedied the issue for a time, but it now seems the problem will require regular population control.

Size: 17.12 ft. Weight: 580.7 lb.

Megaloclaw

A saberclaw subspecies that has grown to enormous proportions. For the first few years of its life, the megalowclaw can make a docile and lovable pet. Once awakened to its feral nature, however, the beast won’t think twice about feeding on the hand that fed it.

Size: 25.06 ft. Weight: 1.54 t

Havocfang

Alpha
Long-whiskered relative of the sabertusk indigenous to Cleigne. The havocfang is easily the most intimidating member of the sabertusk family by nature of its eerie appearance, hostile demeanor, and brute strength, it is said that the sound of its howl can drive a man to madness.

Size: 15.97 ft. Weight: 849.8 lb.

Havocfang

Beta
A havocfang that favors a subterranean habitat. Dark, enclosed spaces allow the beast to rely on its sense of spatial awareness so that it can fend for itself as its eyesight fades and defend itself against the daemons that lurk underground.

Size: 16.01 ft. Weight: 851.4 lb.

Mushussu

Alpha
Reptilian beast with reinforced scales and poison prongs. Though its origins are ophidian, four limbs assist the mushussu in movement, permitting quick lateral locomotion as it dodges and darts in combat.

Size: 21.06 ft. Weight: 2,047.6 lb.

Mushussu

Beta
A mushussu among mushmahhu in Risorath. Though native to the Myrlwood and surrounding mountains, a recent spike in population has caused the reptiles to spill over into the basin.

Size: 21.32 ft. Weight: 2,060.4 lb.

Mushmahhu

A reddish subspecies of mushussu in Risorath known to congregate with its progenitors as well as its fellow mushmahhu. Though native to the Myrlwood and surrounding mountains, a recent spike in population has caused the reptiles to spill over into the basin.

Size: 21.35 ft. Weight: 2,065.2 lb.

Spiracorn

Alpha
Herbivore sporting an entwined pair of spiral horns jutting out from its forehead. Like its cousin the mesmenir, the spiracorn is innately wary of mankind, making domestication and riding unfeasible, though some features indicate the species may at one time have been selectively bred as destriers.

Size: 14.53 ft. Weight: 1.34 t

Spiracorn

Beta
Spiracorn upon whose head a bounty rests. Spiracorn behaviors vary by team: some centering around larger leaders, some focused on expansion, and so on. On the whole, however, the breed instinctively eschews uniformity.

Size: 14.69 ft. Weight: 1.38 t

Duplicorn

Rare giant spiracorn specimen that often assumes lead of a team once fully grown. Its sizable horn makes it a common target for poachers, but the beast learns and grows stronger with each failed attempt on its life, resulting in an increasingly and fittingly sizable challenge.

Size: 22.57 ft. Weight: 5.23 t

Leukorn

Though the color of its hide may be the first feature to jump out at onlookers, one would do well to also take note of this breed’s acuminate horns. Coupled with the beast’s force, the sharp protrusions are capable of impaling and derailing cars of steel.

Size: 14.83 ft. Weight: 1.38 t

Shieldshears

Alpha
A freshwater shell-dweller found primarily in Cleigne. Manipulating its ponderous pincers requires the shieldshears to build burly muscle beneath its heavy shell, resulting in a succulent dish which many diners have heaped praise (and butter) upon.

Size: 12.73 ft. Weight: 2.56 t

Shieldshears

Beta
A shieldshears native to the arid atmosphere of the Leide region. The crustacean has adapted to the hostile climes by adopting a curious means of self-rehydrating in which water expelled gently from the mouth washes back over the body and is eventually reabsorbed through the legs.

Size: 13.45 ft. Weight: 2.97 t

Shieldshears

Gamma
A shieldshears situated deep within Daurell Caverns. The crustacean has adapted to the hostile climes by adopting a curious means of self-rehydrating in which water expelled gently from the mouth washes back over the body and is eventually reabsorbed through the legs.

Size: 13.81 ft. Weight: 3.22 t

Mightyshears

Barely edible variant of the shieldshears indigenous to the River Wennath, recognizable by the bluish hue of its shell. The crustacean uses its powerful claws to entrench itself in the ground for safety, but inadvertently endangers the river habitat by occasionally digging into embankments.

Size: 13.38 ft. Weight: 2.67 t

Saphyrtail

Alpha
Reaptertail offshoot common to volcanic climes. Exposure to brimstone has dyed its exoskeleton blue, and the paucity of edible prey has engendered a desperate and dangerous disposition.

Size: 13.61 ft. Weight: 318.3 lb.

Saphyrtail

Beta
A sulfurous saphyrtail spotted in Leide, far removed from its native Rock of Ravatogh. Its presence in the region is a mystery, though odds are it was a stowaway in some supply shipment. However it arrived, it is in the interests of the habitat to see that it does not remain.

Size: 13.71 ft. Weight: 337.3 lb.

Reaperking

Alpha
A reapertail variant with a preference for the arid climes of Leide. This longevous arachnid matures to heights greater than a grown man. The species lacks the poison of its brethren, but the brute force of its claws and tail will neutralize most any foe.

Size: 16.10 ft. Weight: 553.5 lb.

Reaperking

Beta
A reaperking whose domain centers around the foot of the Rock of Ravatogh. To one who finds the common reapertail sufficiently intimidating, this magnified monarch will appear as something out of a nightmare. Its mere presence in the vicinity of Faeryss Gush was enough to keep most tourists at bay until the Hunters stepped in.

Size: 15.91 ft. Weight: 525.3 lb.

Thunderoc

Alpha
Electrifying bird that shocks and awes with its plumage. The thunderoc’s organs do not generate their own electricity, instead relying on flight friction to accumulate charge, which is then channeled into the shafts of the feathers this avian ejects to stun unsuspecting prey.

Size: 13.05 ft. Weight: 180.5 lb.

Thunderoc

Beta
Before mankind unraveled the mysteries of electricity, people revered this bird as a fantastical beast blessed by the Stormsender himself. The thunderoc’s interference with the power lines and substations of the modern day, however, have rendered it a mere nuisance in the minds of many.

Size: 13.38 ft. Weight: 195.3 lb.

Copperoc

Crimson-streaked thunderoc presiding over the peaks of Ravatogh. In olden days it bore the moniker of “red lightning,” alluding to the sanguine nature of its devastating attacks.

Size: 13.68 ft. Weight: 204.3 lb.

Sahagin

Alpha
Found largely around the Vesperpool, usually in groups of ten or twenty. This four-legged aquatic organism lurks beneath the surface, then uses its sturdy jaw to clamp down on prey that ventures near the water’s edge before dragging its catch back into the depths to devour it.

Size: 19.55 ft. Weight: 2,057.1 lb.

Sahagin

Beta
A more ferocious variant of the sahagin that roams the Vesperpool. It often works together with the formidable alphagin, and is therefore often included with its superior sahagin cousin as a target of hunts.

Size: 19.65 ft. Weight: 2,090.6 lb.

Albinogin

An albino subspecies of sahagin. Stronger and tougher than its common counterpart, it lives and hunts alone. It occasionally exits the water to prey on unsuspecting passerby—man and monster alike—leaving many would-be hunters injured in its wake.

Size: 19.78 ft. Weight: 2,105.8 lb.

Alphagin

The largest member of the sahagin family, and with muscle to match. This legendary beast grew to monstrous proportions due to a freak mutation and, as such, is frequently targeted by aspiring hunters hoping to make their mark.

Size: 37.14 ft. Weight: 6.23 t

Seadevil

Alpha
An enormous subspecies of sahagin found in southern Cleigne. Similar to its more commonplace cousin, it resides in the water and preys on animals that venture near the shoreline, but sprays a high-pressure water stream to stun its target before launching a proper attack.

Size: 24.54 ft. Weight: 1.82 t

Seadevil

Beta
A seadevil swept up by the current and sent drifting all the way to Galdin Quay. Though otherwise identical to the seadevils native to Cleigne, it seems as if its aquatic journey has somehow transformed it into a more fearsome foe.

Size: 24.60 ft. Weight: 1.82 t

Seadevil

Gamma
A sturdy subspecies of seadevil living in the depths of the Crestholm Channels. Scientists believe its abnormal strength stems from either separation from its natural habitat or adjustment to the harshness of its new one.

Size: 24.80 ft. Weight: 1.83 t

Coraldevil

Alpha
A seadevil subspecies found outside of Old Lestallum, easily recognized by the unusual color of its body. Unfortunately, being both ferocious and few in number, biologists have been unable to glean much information about this rare breed.

Size: 24.77 ft. Weight: 1.83 t

Coraldevil

Beta
A seadevil subspecies inhabiting the depths of the Crestholm Channels along with its progenitors. Though genetically different, most behavioral disparities gradually disappeared as the two species mutually adapted to life in the same channels. This particular specimen developed more advanced musculature, however, presumably through adoption to the harsh underground climes.

Size: 24.80 ft. Weight: 1.84 t

Chickatrice

A baby bird living near the Vesperpool. It is all but impossible to discern a young male from a young female at first glance. A normally docile creature, the chickatrice will only attack in self-defense—and inflict considerable damage on its assailant when it does.

Size: 4.52 ft. Weight: 120.8 lb.

Regaltrice

Alpha
A young regaltrice that generally poses no threat to humanity at large. Mass hatchings are reported on rare occasion, however, and the baby birds flock outward from their natural habitat. It is at this point hunters are called upon to cull the burgeoning population.

Size: 4.56 ft. Weight: 121.7 lb.

Regaltrice

Beta
The noble offspring of a royalisk and kingatrice living in the depths of Steyliff Grove. The regaltrice’s existence is masked in mystery as it hardly ever leaves the safety of the subterranean ruins.

Size: 4.69 ft. Weight: 129.8 lb.

Basilisk

Alpha
An adult chickatrice found around the Vesperpool. Though its wings have atrophied (leaving this foul flightless), its feathers contain poison that it uses to defend itself from potential predators.

Size: 24.41 ft. Weight: 2.51 t

Basilisk

Beta
A basilisk targeted by hunters hoping to suppress its abnormally strong tendency toward violence and aggression. Some scientists speculate this uncharacteristic behavior may stem from anxiety over mating season and the unusual presence of a kingatrice in the Vesperpool.

Size: 24.54 ft. Weight: 2.56 t

Royalisk

Alpha
A giant basilisk that spends most of its life hidden underground. It will emerge near the Vesperpool for the sole purpose of finding a partner, but beware: it exhibits unusually aggressive behavior during mating season and should be handled with extreme caution.

Size: 44.16 ft. Weight: 14.50 t

Royalisk

Beta
Residing within the deepest recesses of the Greyshire Glacial Grotto, this particular subspecies of basilisk is extremely territorial and will rally its flock to attack any intruders. For this reason, few dare plumb the depths of the caves to find out more about this fearsome fowl.

Size: 44.25 ft. Weight: 14.56 t

Royalisk

Gamma
A royalisk residing within the depths of Steyliff Grove. Known to be the strongest of its species, it strikes fear in the hearts of intrepid archaeologists hoping to inspect the ruins. The threat it poses to creatures outside the grove is limited, however, as this bird seems to refuse to leave its roost.

Size: 44.39 ft. Weight: 14.72 t

Cockatrice

Alpha
A flightless adult chickatrice found around the Vesperpool. He displays a belligerent nature and—after forming a flock with his mate and chicks—becomes extremely territorial, attacking en masse anyone who dares venture near his family.

Size: 33.26 ft. Weight: 5.75 t

Cockatrice

Beta
A tougher variant of the cockatrice. Though normally a very mild-mannered species, this fowl’s attitude goes foul when mating season approaches, growing increasingly aggressive and territorial.

Size: 33.36 ft. Weight: 5.78 t

Kingatrice

Alpha
Common breed of kingatrice lording over its glacial demesne in Greyshire. The kingatrice is regal in size alone, as its behaviors are virtually indistinguishable from its diminutive subjects.

Size: 36.81 ft. Weight: 10.61 t

Kingatrice

Beta
A powerful kingatrice residing within the depths of Steyliff Grove. The narrow nature of the ruins makes it easy for the kingatrice to protects its territory—though being confined in such close quarters with other creatures also exacerbates its aggressive tendencies.

Size: 38.74 ft. Weight: 11.24 t

Hekatontoad

Alpha
Aggressive amphibian known for assaulting humans. Although the Hunters once insisted this subspecies of the gigantoad poses little actual threat due to its lethargic nature, only showing signs of activity in heavy rainfall, the organization quickly changed its tune when two of its own went missing while hunting the hekatontoad.

Size: 23.13 ft. Weight: 29.43 t

Hekatontoad

Beta
The toad is a highly adaptive organism, boasting a wide array of subspecies that vary according to climate and ecosystem. Some posit the key to unlocking the archaeology of Lucis lies in dissecting the amphibians’ origins—and occasionally their organs as well.

Size: 23.29 ft. Weight: 30.02 t

Gaiatoad

Alpha
Enormous subspecies of the gigantoad residing along the River Wennath. Boasting an appetite appropriate for its considerable size, it ravenously consumes prey in large quantities, then hibernates until the next rainy day.

Size: 29.39 ft. Weight: 61.21 t

Gaiatoad

Beta
Gaiatoad slumbering in the deepest recesses of the Crestholm Channels. This amphibian developed a sturdy build through adapting to the less-than-favorable conditions of life underground. Although this specimen is physiologically identical to its land-dwelling counterpart, its superior strength sets it apart.

Size: 29.62 ft. Weight: 62.24 t

Killer Wasp

Alpha
Insect of considerable size residing in Cleigne. The killer wasp hunts for prey to fly back to its hive and feed to the larvae. Some hunters have hoped to exterminate this brutal bug once and for all, but their attempts to locate its nests have been entirely unsuccessful.

Size: 12.73 ft. Weight: 628.5 lb.

Killer Wasp

Beta
Especially sinister subspecies of the killer wasp. It possesses no physiological or behavioral differences from its more common counterpart and is thus often misidentified at first glance. This specimen is far stronger than its brethren, however, and should be eliminated as quickly as possible.

Size: 12.92 ft. Weight: 642.4 lb.

Killer Wasp

Gamma
Killer wasp subspecies that has built a nest inside the Balouve Mines. Unlike its cousins who fly around above ground, this specimen has specially adapted to life in the caverns, navigating the cramped corridors and taking down prey with incredible ease.

Size: 13.18 ft. Weight: 662.0 lb.

Soldier Wasp

Alpha
Large winged insect living in the Malmalam Thicket. Although ostensibly identical to the killer wasp, this subspecies is infinitely more ferocious. Despite its violent nature, the soldier wasp has yet to be designated as a threat due to the limited scope of its habitat.

Size: 12.76 ft. Weight: 657.2 lb.

Soldier Wasp

Beta
Soldier wasp variant that resides around the Rock of Ravatogh. Perhaps out of frustration due to the lack of prey, this subspecies exhibits stronger violent tendencies than its counterpart in the Malmalam Thicket. Fearful of harm done to their homes, some civilians living in the area have called in extermination requests.

Size: 13.15 ft. Weight: 658.0 lb.

Killer Queen

The queen who sits atop the social order of the colony. While common bees have but one queen per hive, this breed allows for an oligarchy. The queen is nevertheless despotic, and liable to lash out at even her own subjects in rage.

Size: 5.64 ft. Weight: 144.4 lb.

Mandrake

Carnivorous plant that resists taking root in one place. While technically classified as vegetation, the mandrake behaves much as a beast, hunting and killing for sustenance. Its sonic emissions can play tricks on the ears of trespassers, but they cause no harm to the florae of the forest.

Size: 19.78 ft. Weight: 3.73 t

Treant

Alpha
Fully matured form of mandrakes, assumed over long years. It possesses a decentralized nervous system, yet is capable of complex responses to stimuli not unlike faunae. This organism has outgrown its ability to acquire adequate nutrition, and gradually succumbs to the still rot of death.

Size: 48.59 ft. Weight: 58.31 t

Treant

Beta
An ancient treant dwelling at the heart of the Myrlwood. It had been long dormant until a hunter snapped its branch off for kindling. Now the treant inflicts its pain upon all who approach.

Size: 49.08 ft. Weight: 59.31 t

Treant

Gamma
A wizened old treant on the verge of withering away. Using the last of its strength, it has ventured far from its original habitat in an effort to ensure the survival of its species by sowing its seeds in far-off soil away from potential predators. Perhaps because of its old age, this particular specimen has demonstrated exceptionally erratic behavior, causing alarm among ecologists and hunters alike.

Size: 50.09 ft. Weight: 60.45 t

Size: 57.57 ft. Weight: 60.13 t

Mictlantechihuatl

Lighter-colored subspecies of quetzalcoatl that haunts the inner sanctum of Steyliff Grove where light does not reach. Despite spending most of its time confined to the caverns, the mictlantechihuatl will occasionally spread its wings and soar around outside in search of prey.

Size: 58.17 ft. Weight: 60.38 t

Wyvern

Alpha
Scaled monster that evolved from a tiny avian reptile on the Rock of Ravatogh. Its scales are thick enough to withstand intense heat and aridity. Although its wings cannot create enough propulsion to allow for flight, the wyvern can still glide through the air and dive down to snatch up prey.

Size: 19.09 ft. Weight: 1.04 t

Wyvern

Beta
Highly active specimen among the Ravatoghan wyvern population. It is known for spreading its wings and flying far from its volcanic perch to hunt for prey and strike fear in the hearts of citizens living at the foot of the mountain. Size: 55.21 ft. Weight: 179.70 t

Karlabos

Beta
More ferocious terror of the Leirity Seaside known to capsize ships and dine on their crews. Wayfarers are warned to only enter the water at their own peril and advised to report any karlabos sightings to a local hunter.

Size: 55.70 ft. Weight: 180.51 t

Rogue Karlabos

The karlabos develops in a dorsal pouch on the body of the female, and expectant mothers often seek sustenance-rich coastal waters where they can deposit the hatchlings as the time of birth draws near.

Size: 55.80 ft. Weight: 183.20 t

Bandersnatch

Alpha
Wide-jawed beast that literally fumes with rage when angered. Little beyond that which is apparently observable is known about this curious species. The majority of specimens have been spotted in Cleigne with occasional sightings in Leide.

Size: 54.29 ft. Weight: 38.38 t

Size: 114.33 ft. Weight: 48.03 t

Hvitrormr

Beta
Hvitromr spotted around the Vesperpool. Eyewitness reports claim this specimen exhibited excessive aggression while pursuing its prey. The hunter who saw this oversized snake postulated it may have wriggled its away over from the Crestholm Channels, but biologists have yet to prove this theory.

Size: 114.56 ft. Weight: 48.13 t

Hvitrormr

Gamma
Hvitrormr that appeared in great number in the Maidenwater Basin. Much like the many midgardsormr discovered in the same area, this specimen exhibited surprisingly social tendencies toward its brethren, suggesting it may actually be a new species.

Size: 43.47 ft. Weight: 227.24 t

Malbodoom

Malbodoom that appeared in great number outside of Cape Caem in southern Cleigne. Scientists have yet to discern why this specimen showed up so far from its natural habitat—nor why it was spotted alongside what appeared to be a swarm of its Niflheim-born cousins. Some anti-imperialists have suggested the malbodoom’s presence on kingdom soil is the work of the empire—a new form of biological warfare.

Size: 43.07 ft. Weight: 224.33 t

Malbodoom

Gamma
Malbodoom that has extended its tendrils throughout the depths of the Daurell Caverns. Although comparatively common among the Lucian malboro variants, many mysteries remain about its mode of life. Thanks to several small modifications, this cybersoldier is even more powerful than its predecessor. Unlike magitek troopers, which are specifically engineered for engaging enemies, this unit serves a variety of military functions and is thus still produced on a large scale.

Size: 5 ft. 11 in. Weight: 215.6 lb.

Imperial Rifleman

Gamma
Deployed throughout Niflheim and imperial territories like Accordo, this unit excels in governing other soldiers, but lacks the combat skills of cybersoldiers stationed closer to the field of battle.

Size: 5 ft. 11 in. Weight: 212.5 lb.

Battery Soldier

Alpha
A cybersoldier equipped with more formidable armor and shields than standard models. As a result, this unit is more suited for combat than keeping the peace. Designed to take a beating, this cyborg and others of its kind are deployed as cannon fodder against Lucis and the daemons—and few make it back to the empire in one piece.

Size: 5 ft. 11 in. Weight: 298.7 lb.

Battery Soldier

Beta
The newest model of battery soldier, stronger and tougher than those before it. Stationed in bases and deployed from drop ships around Lucis, this unit is employed in the empire’s efforts to thwart Noctis and his royal retinue.

Size: 5 ft. 11 in. Weight: 299.3 lb.

Imperial Sniper

Alpha
Cybersoldier that specializes in shooting foes from afar. This unit forms up with short-range soldiers during combat, but prefers to keep its distance when launching an assault.

Size: 5 ft. 11 in. Weight: 214.0 lb.

Imperial Sniper

Beta
A more powerful sniper equipped with an upgraded arsenal. Revered for its improved abilities, this model quickly replaced older units in the field. It is stationed in bases and deployed from drop ships across the Lucian continent.

Size: 5 ft. 11 in. Weight: 214.7 lb.

Magitek Axeman

Cybersoldier specially engineered to excel in combat, and the powerhouse of the imperial infantry. Unlike the standard-issue troopers, every magitek unit is marked with an individual model number.

Size: 7 ft. 2 in. Weight: 391.3 lb.

Magitek Axeman

The latest magitek axeman model. Because of the high production costs, this unit was originally deployed only to several strategic areas, but has since been dispatched to areas across the continent in order to thwart Noctis and his friends.

Size: 7 ft. 2 in. Weight: 396.4 lb.

Armored Axeman

A cybersoldier that once served as commander to magitek infantry troops. Now programmed with advanced authoritative capabilities, this model forms its own military units and sends them into battle.

Size: 7 ft. 2 in. Weight: 400.3 lb.

Magitek Swordsman

A more advanced magitek trooper designed to replace older units. It boasts stronger built-in firearms as well as a newly engineered sword to engage opponents in close-quarters combat.

Size: 7 ft. 2 in. Weight: 371.4 lb.

Armored Swordsman

Outfitted with a state-of-the-art set of parts, this model is a cut above previous iterations. Mass production has not yet begun on this unit, however, so only a handful of them have seen actual combat.

Size: 7 ft. 2 in. Weight: 372.1 lb.

Armored Assassin

Equipped with a blade in both hands, this cybersoldier has no need for firearms. It demonstrates a multitude of strengths in close-range combat and self-destructs when badly damaged. That said, the lack of firearms limits its versatility, and this model has thus only been deployed to a small number of units.

Size: 7 ft. 2 in. Weight: 362.4 lb.

Magitek Assassin

A dual-wielding magitek trooper that received a total overhaul. Only a few hundred prototypes exist at present, however, as mass production of the top-of-the-line parts required for this unit proved too difficult to maintain.

Size: 7 ft. 2 in. Weight: 355.8 lb.

Imperial Spearman

A magitek trooper wielding a giant spear. Military officials first noticed this model’s effectiveness in anti-deity combat in the fight against Shiva, and they have since deployed this unit to battle both Titan and Leviathan.

Size: 7 ft. 5 in. Weight: 380.3 lb.

Magitek Bannerman

Once an ordinary magitek trooper, this unit received a variety of remodels, now rebuilt to bear the banner of the imperial army. In particular, its coding underwent enormous changes; unlike other infantry models, this unit is programmed to avoid combat unless absolutely necessary.

Size: 7 ft. 2 in. Weight: 374.1 lb.

Magitek Bannerman

A bannerman boasting boosted power and additional skills. Despite engineers upgrading this unit’s combat capabilities, its main function remains the same: bearing the flag of the empire in battle.

Size: 7 ft. 2 in. Weight: 375.4 lb.

Magitek Bannerman

The newest model of bannerman, mainly deployed from assault crafts. Scientists integrated more advanced administrative functions into this unit’s AI, but said efforts were largely wasted as the empire collapsed before mass production of this model could begin in earnest.

Size: 7 ft. 2 in. Weight: 384.4 lb.

Shock Trooper

Alpha
A modified magitek trooper deployed only in special circumstances. Scientists intentionally overcharged this unit’s core in order to trigger the self-destruct mechanism when in close proximity to enemies.

Size: 7 ft. 2 in. Weight: 422.4 lb.

Shock Trooper

Beta
An explosive unit deployed from drop ships. After descending to the ground, this unit slowly makes its way toward the opponent. In order to compensate for its unfortunate lack of speed, scientists designed this trooper with extra durability in mind.

Size: 7 ft. 2 in. Weight: 437.6 lb.

Shock Trooper

Gamma
A self-destructing cybersoldier stationed at specific bases around the imperial mainland. This unit boasts greater durability than the average shock trooper at the expense of combat capabilities.

Size: 7 ft. 2 in. Weight: 446.2 lb.

Rogue Axeman

Alpha
An inactive magitek trooper brought out of its slumber after daemonic miasma infected its operating system. Despite awakening in a berserk state, this unit still retains the fundamental programming of a standard-issue cybersoldier: eliminate all enemies.

Size: 7 ft. 2 in. Weight: 311.0 lb.

Rogue Axeman

Beta
An unfinished and un-armed unit with appropriately underwhelming abilities. Not even its parts are worth selling as scrap.

Size: 7 ft. 2 in. Weight: 314.1 lb.

Haywire Axeman

The strongest type of berserk cybersoldier. Stationed in Zegnautus Keep, this unit exhibits erratic movement patterns, and its core is extremely unstable. Combatants should maintain their distance as this trooper could self-destruct at any moment.

Size: 7 ft. 2 in. Weight: 338.8 lb.

Eternal Trooper

Despite the fall of the empire, this soldier keeps marching on. With no one around to maintain it, it no longer operates as efficiently as it once did, but this unit nevertheless exhibits increased strength due to the plasmodic miasma that pollutes the air.

Size: 5 ft. 11 in. Weight: 203.2 lb.

MA Veles

Alpha
A magitek armor developed by imperial engineers, commonly found at bases and on assault crafts. The most versatile of its kind, this unit is equipped with a varied arsenal, including a 37mm autocannon and missle launchers for long-range assaults and powerful claws for close-range combat.

Size: 16.79 ft. Weight: 17.20 t

MA Veles

Beta
Stationed in various locations around the imperial continent, this later magitek model is equipped with the latest guns and missiles. This unit never saw mass production, however: it was passed over in favor of the superior MA Hoplomachus and MA Veles-Bis, both of which went into development almost simultaneously.

Size: 16.79 ft. Weight: 17.86 t

MA Hoplomachus

A fortified remodel of the MA Veles. Its comparatively compact size prevents it from generating enough electricity to unleash a shock wave like the MA-X Maniple, so engineers equipped the Hoplomachus with a flamethrower instead.

Size: 20.27 ft. Weight: 23.15 t

MA Veles-Bis

Alpha
The most advanced cybersuit in the MA Veles line, this unit integrates parts employed in second-issue models. Its warheads are also laced with an experimental substance said to completely transform a target’s genetic composition.

Size: 20.27 ft. Weight: 23.35 t

MA Veles-Bis

Beta
Although originally conceived as a complete redesign to the MA Veles-Bis, the only mechanical difference from the standard model is the sbustance inside its warheads. The compound contained therein induces hallucinatory effects upon inhalation, causing confusion among enemy ranks.

Size: 20.27 ft. Weight: 23.35 t

MA Veles-Bis

Gamma
This particular model is mounted with missiles containing a muscle stiffening substance that renders targets totally immobile. That said, structurally speaking this unit is no different than its Veles-Bis brethren.

Size: 20.27 ft. Weight: 23.35 t

MA-X Cuirass

A formidable magitek armor fit for a commander. This unit was designed with the MA-X Maniple as a base but equipped with a sturdier cockpit and superior communication functions. Despite these advancements, however, Commander Loqi Tummelt still suffered defeat at the hands of Noctis and company at the Norduscaen Blockade.

Size: 33.30 ft. Weight: 58.57 t

MA-X Cuirass

Developed specifically for Commander Loqi Tummelt, this newer MA-X Cuirass model incorporates a wide range of improvements. Although one of the commander’s mechs was destroyed during the battle at Formouth Garrison, several reserve units remain in storage, ready for battle.

Size: 33.30 ft. Weight: 59.45 t

MA-X Maniple

Alpha
Playing a pivotal role during the invasion of Insomnia, this mass-produced magitek armor boasts missles for long-range attacks and claw-like feet for close-quarters combat. It is also equipped with automatic rifles and an electroshock spear, making it an all-around threat to all who dare challenge it.

Size: 33.30 ft. Weight: 55.48 t

MA-X Maniple

Beta
Developed alongside the magitek assassins, this late model was deployed to only a fraction of the empire’s strongholds. Although its basic equipment is identical to earlier models, its offensive power is significantly higher thanks to an artillery upgrade.

Size: 33.30 ft. Weight: 55.52 t

MA-X Patria

Originally designated as the MA-X Maniple-Bis, this mech was conceived as a successor to the MA-X Maniple. However, the design underwent significant changes during development, and engineers renamed the unit accordingly. Few units were ever produced; those that were have been placed aboard assault crafts.

Size: 33.30 ft. Weight: 60.81 t

MA-X Dux

While this mech began development at the same time as the MA-X Cuirass, production halted once engineers realized this unit was all but identical to its cousin. Its design underwent a series of alterations, and this model was ultimately reenvisioned as the exclusive magitek armor of Commander Caligo Uldor.

Size: 33.30 ft. Weight: 60.11 t

MA-X Angelus-0

The last suit of magitek armor ever produced. Imperial scientists leveraged all the technology at their disposal to create a weapon strong enough to beat Noctis and even the gods themselves. Internal records allege development did not finish before the fall of the empire, but some claim to have witnessed fully functioning units on the field of battle.

Size: 33.30 ft. Weight: 58.13 t

Aranea

Commodore of Niflheim’s Third Army Corps 87th Airborne Division. The ex-mercenary’s commendable service record in combatting daemons and Astrals for the empire earned her a commission as well as command of her own airship, from which this dragoon descends to spear unsuspecting prey.

Size: 5 ft. 5 in. Weight: ???

Astral

Titan

God of Earth. Legends tell of the Archaeon absorbing the force of the cataclysmic Meteor as it hurtled down to Eos—and he still shoulders the stone in his sleep deep within the Disc. The Landforger was awaken from that slumber by the Oracle Lunafreya.

Size: 497.04 ft. Weight: 47,743.05 t

Leviathan

Goddess of the Seas. The Hydraean took rest under the Celluna Cascades after the Astral War, yet her ruinous fury carried on the waves, never dissipating. Besought by the Oracle Lunafreya, the tempestuous Tidemother rose once more.

Size: 3,377.62 ft. Weight: 311,522.62 t

Ifrit

God of Fire. It was the Infernian who bestowed the gift of fire upon man in antiquity. He reigned over the ancient kingdom of Solheim until his once-loyal subjects turned against him. The Pyreburner then waged the Astral War that would quench his own life’s flame until his own daemonic resurrection by means of the Starscourge.

Size: 43.34 ft. Weight: 31.52 t

Ramuh

God of the Storm. The Fulgurian, it is said, administers the natural laws of Eos from on high, casting judgment down on those who would harm the star. Resting at Angelgard in the Astral War’s wake, the Stormsender awoke to the pleas of the Oracle Lunafreya.

Size: 201.93 ft. Weight: 1,918.99 t

Shiva

Goddess of Ice. The Glacian’s place among the Six lies opposite that of the Infernian, Ifrit. Roused suddenly from hibernation in Ghorovas Rift, the Frostbearer brought the chill wind of death to bear on half the imperial army before suffering her own corporeal demise.

Size: 7.02 ft. Weight: 179.9 lb.

Bahamut

God of War. The Draconian’s bonds to the Lucii run deepest among the Six. At the end of the Astral War, when Ifrit had fallen and civilizations lay in ruins, the Bladekeeper alone held vigil, awaiting the coming of the Chosen King while the other gods lay dormant.
