The FFVII Web Series is a project by fans, for fans, to bring the world of Final Fantasy VII to life in the form of a live-action Web Series. In 2012 an interesting trailer appeared online showcasing what a live action FFVII movie might look like. This trailer (conceptualised and directed by current Project Head Gionata Medeot) grabbed the attention of fans across the globe as well as gaming media, and sparked the birth of the project as it is today.
Since then, the number of people on the project has exponentially grown into various teams (Scriptwriting, Art, Storyboard, Music, Social Media, Editorial etc) in order to make this vision come to life. Known by the clever name “Shinra Productions LLC” and including talent from the gaming and movie industry as well as this very site, AND a partnership with the well known Team 2X, the project has just launched a KickStarter campaign to get up and running.
This, along with proceeds from some of the excellent merchandise on the team’s RedBubble page will go toward filming and production to bring the fans the best free, episodic realisation of Final Fantasy VII possible. exciting! I understand it’s too big to fit into one film, but why not three? like star wars
even 3 movies would not be enough to fit all the awesomeness of FF7
The team decided on an episodic and seasonal format so that none of the important plot points or dialogue sequences would be sacrificed 🙂
