Awesome, new CG revealed! How do they make it so beautiful?

Is this FMV picture set before or after the footage of Terra released in the trailer takes place? It would be hauntingly intriguing to see Vaan go to all that trouble to look out for her in the battlefield only to be returned with a nasty dose of fire from her. That is presuming she’s being controlled at that point of course. The slave crown’s still there (at least the head ornament that looks like the slave crown) so maybe she’s captured by Chaos’ side before the start of Duodecium (If Prologus is indeed genuine) but Cosmos’ side isn’t aware of it yet? Ah well, it’s gorgeous to look at all the same.

Thank you so much for the update!

Does Terra’s outfit mean no Celes? And if Vaan befriends and frees her of the supposed ‘slave crown’ and Kefka’s control, her what of Locke? AND isn’t she supposed to be on Chaos’ side during this cycle? Jecht is on Cosmos’s side and Kuja was a newcomer to Chaos’ side in the first game. Chaos’ side barely has any contenders at this point… And Sephiroth evidentially suicides. AND on another note Chaos lost his memory like he lost in this cycle during the first game, but Chaos’ side was victorious. What’s the deal there? Still no clue what will become of our newcomers.

Not sure if there’s an answer to the inclusion of Celes or Locke (at this point there’s no gaurentee who’s in or out now) but in regards to your question about Chaos’ memories it’s hinted that he lost them once Garland convinced him to start the war in the first place and only regained them once Cosmos had perished and the balance was tipped over, so he’s probably not suffering from the effects of Shinryu as most of the other characters are. I’m not sure though, I need to check the reports and cutscenes again.

Also it’s still uncertain just exactly who Terra, Kuja and Jecht are siding with in this cycle; The Emperor referred to Jecht as a former Cosmos warrior but he never specified when exactly he changed sides. Terra is confirmed as being used by Team Chaos during this cycle thanks to dialogue between Kefka and CoD (CoD also suffered from memory loss so she might die in this cycle) but again there’s no evidence to prove that she was summoned by Cosmos and captured by Chaos or viceversa. As for Kuja, all signs point to him being aligned with Cosmos during this cycle (Kefka and Garland point out that’s he’s a newbie, the trailer shows him acting reserved towards the heroes to the point of being mistaken for one and he gains sincere concern from Cloud) but Square Enix could be deliberately deceiving us; we know he’s a bastard in his original game and judging by how obsessed he is with theatre and ‘acting’… Still another theory could be that Kuja lost his memories (hence Cloud discussing it with him) and thus acts without the stigma imposed in FFIX (he doesn’t really seem to pay any special attention to Zidane in the trailer) only for the villains to reveal the ugly truth and awaken his petty narcissistic sadism, again this is just a guess.

As for what happens to the newcomers… It’s not going to be pretty… Knowing Square Enix’s tendency to utterly brutalise new characters in their prequels (Zack, Angeal, Xion, Terra, Aqua, Ventus, Orginisation XIII etc) to ensure that canon remains consistent, we’re likely to be in for a sob fest.

Sorry that this reply is so damn long, but I hope it might clear a few things up.

Maybe the reason Vaan wasn’t in the 13th cycle is related to Terra. Maybe he’s the one who takes up the role of Celes / Locke…

And meh, so far the new characters are from the newer FF games. Exclude Kain, I’m happy to see him. I want more older games characters! >:o

Can’t wait to taste Firion’s new moveset :3
