Have we seen Final Fantasy XIV’s The Crystarium before?

In Final Fantasy XIV, Patch 4.56 has dropped, concluding Stormblood with the second part of A Requiem for Heroes and setting up the story up for the coming Shadowbringers expansion. That means there are new quests and content to play through, so go and check them out if you haven’t already!

The recent FFXIV Fan Festival event gave us a lot more information about what the expansion will be including, such as a new NPC assist system called “Trust” and some huge areas like the new town, The Crystarium, which appears to be a reworked version of the location that was originally shown by Square Enix at E3 back in 2005  and only called “Untitled MMORPG Tech Demo”.

There were also two new playable races announced, female Viera and male Hrothgar, both of which will be available when Shadowbringers releases.

The expansion is available to preorder now and Square Enix are hoping to open it for early access on 28th June, ahead of the 2nd July release. Leave us a comment and let us know if you’re looking forward to Shadowbringers or come and join the discussion on our forum and discord!

I’m 100% sure they re-purposed the old Limsa Lominsa from the tech demo and trailer in the OG FF14. Nice to see it make it’s way back and I can’t wait to explore the new area.
