Let’s Play! Final Fantasy VII part the second

by January 3, 2011 0 comments

A few weeks ago, Pixel and I started a Let’s Play of Final Fantasy VII. Last week, Forcestealer and I kept going from where Pixel and I left off, and did an additional six segments, which Pixel was kind enough to synch and upload to Youtube.

For those fans of Pixel’s several audiobook contributions, he’s also added in a surprise into one of the videos. What is it? You’ll just have to watch to see it.

Now, with only slightly further ado, the Let’s Play videos themselves. Enjoy.

As always, more after the break.

If you want to get involved in later recordings, just send me, Ryushikaze, a PM via the forum, expressing your interest, availability, and preferred method of contact.

Coming Soon- A Fan’s Eye View- Final Fantasy: Legend of the Crystals.

Nancy FTW! Excellent job guys, top notch!

The audio extra Pixel added there was incredibly well done; the performers managed to give off just the right feel of sensitivity towards the scene without it coming across as cloying. Is this part of a bigger project or just a bonus? Props go to everyone involved with that, well done.

If Square Enix ever wants to tease us with another remade CGI scene from VII, I hope they do the ‘Miss Cloud’ sequence. I know it’s too long but dammit I want to see them TRY to make that with voices and realistic models. But then again the rating would probably soar way up considering all that goes on at the Honeybee Inn… Heck, I wonder if Steve Burton even knows about this sequence; it’d probably change his whole perception of Cloud!

Sorry for rambling there, keep up the good work!

Heh, that would be interesting to know if Burton is aware of the scene. I think he has said that he’s a gamer, so its possible he’s played it, but he never specifically said he had either, and I’d think he would…

I think Cloud’s inner monologue would be a child’s voice. We see his real self represented by his self as a child both at the Temple of the Ancients later on and also in the Lifestream.

Also, Pixel, I like the little voice bit for Cloud and Aerith’s little foray in the playground. Very nice. 🙂

Part 11: You should probably have lowered the volume of the gameplay audio for this one. It’s too loud in contrast to your voices.

That’s my only complaint right now. Looking forward to future entries.

You’ll have to take that one up with Pixel. Force and I recorded with Headphones on specifically to make game audio a non factor in the recordings.

    Wonderful, guys, just as always!!

I would honestly love to get involved in further videos, but I’m pondering whether my strange foreign English accent would be too bad for such a recording! 🙂

That, and I’m using a camera device as a mic, which means the sound would not be as clear as it could be, I guess. We’ll just see!

If you’re worried about sounding absolutely awful Alex, you can always contact me and we can do a test for your mic quality. Your accent probably won’t be that much of an issue.
