New Dengeki Playstation interview info with Tetsuya Nomura on FFVII AC Complete

by April 1, 2009 0 comments

• The entire article below was a lame April Fools joke •
It should neither be taken seriously nor cited as a reference

A new scan from the previous Dengeki Playstation interview with Nomura has surfaced online and we’ve got even more new info regarding Advent Children Complete! Here are some more translated portions that highlight the key features of the movie.

Edit: I have to apologize for some confusion regarding the scan and translator. Our staff member Ondore translated this Dengeki scan and I accidentally messed up the smaller image’s link to the full size scan in the post. I’ve gone ahead and fixed it. You should be able to see the scan much clearer now and see that it’s readable. Also, I fixed the source link as well. Again, thanks Ondore for the interesting, and rather…controversial news.

“Aerith had originally been seen as just a happy surprise for the fans, but her role in the story is much more. Expect her to play a bigger role throughout the story, on both a worldly, and in some cases, more personal scale for the characters.”

“Originally, Red XIII spoke very little but this was not our intention. Please enjoy the numerous humorous lines of Red XIII in the film.”

“In the original, Cloud clashed with Sephiroth once again after two years. Like the other reunions of this movie, his battle with Sephiroth stirs up old emotions of the past. In the previous edition, Cloud was triumphant against Sephiroth. But Cloud can’t always be victorious. The new rendition may surprise you.”

“In the original, we included Denzel to act as a firm connection to someone else for Cloud, one we didn’t get to address originally. In the new edition, Cloud wishes to rescue Denzel both out of his own responsibility, but also to preserve his connection with, well… you can see for yourself when it comes out [laugh]”

“The changes we’ve made to the movie include quite a lot of additional scenes detailing Cloud’s complex relationship with the deceased heroine Aerith. Later in the film, fans will be glad to see he is finally able to overcome his grief for Aerith, the woman who died before his eyes, and continue his life with this woman he cherishes.”

“At Nojima’s request, we’ve included the original ending of the 20 minute movie, but if we just repeated the same ending, it wouldn’t have been interesting. So you might be surprised to discover the truth about the message the children are delivering from a ‘special woman.'”

“There’s quite a lot of information in the story, so new viewers can enjoy the story without confusion. But this leaves old viewers who already know this a bit bored. So the idea was that while a lot of what we show is important, what’s truly important is what’s not shown. With that in mind, pay attention to what you don’t see as much as you pay attention to what’s there. You’ll be surprised at what’s in what isn’t there.”

It already has. You just can’t see it. 😉

Don’t you think it’s a wee bit convenient that this previously unseen scan has popped up on April 1st, which also includes a lot of controversial material?

    😀

It is! Another evidence is that it is stated that the source is FF7AC Reunion, but the site doesn’t have anything about said interview!

That’s what I checked too! I mean, there’s nothing about an interview there!

And how could someone possibly have been able to read that tiny scan there?

*shrugs* It’s all up to int. Some people see it as Cloti, some as Clerith. I personally saw it as a mix.

    • Tennyo
      Tennyo 1 April, 2009, 20:53

How so? I interpreted this interview as being very highly Cloti. Only a rabid Clerith mindset would be able to twist it around. And remember, they’ll twist, pull, and make up anything. *coughlensflareribboncough*

      BBM 1 April, 2009, 20:54

Lol, no. I can see why people view it as Clerith. ^^

But yeah, I found it mostly Cloti. :3

      But that’s probably because I’m a Cloti.

Either way, these interviews are of no use.

      We have to wait till the movie comes out. ;_;

It didn’t fool me as much as the “FFVIII sequel” with a picture of Rinoa in a super slutty outfit, and if it wasn’t for the talk about Red XIII I would have dismissed it quicker…but it was still pretty good!

And why would you think this? TLS already had it’s April Fool’s joke. Two of them. The one with the Turk/Doom game and also how BC was coming to the US.

Okay so the Turk one was lame but the BC one was pretty convincing and I’m sure would have gone on if Masamune hadn’t spilled the beans on himself so soon. lol

Why? There are absolutely no grounds for a Zack/Tifa relationship.

Besides, why do people think this article is Clerith? It’s so obviously Cloti that IT HURTS!!!!

So do we have an answer yet? :monster:

As per the LTD thing, I see it both ways. I like this idea of moar Aerith being shown, and an elaboration on the ending of the message from the special lady. tbh I found that kid part very like “wtf, where’d they come from? What do they have to do with her?” But that quote about getting over grief and moving on with a special woman, I DID see it as Cloti. And coming from a Clerith, that’s hard to admit. But if it’s not Cloti, then maybe they’ll flesh out his feelings. Elaborate his thoughts that he does keep Aerith in his heart and whether or not he sees Tifa as a friend.

As for Cloud not being victorious I kinda.. feel irked by it. He doesn’t seem all that victorious when fighting the crew in the Ancient City, or in the Church, or on the building when he got shot. ;D But hey, maybe he’ll fall down more. Great.

I get confused by that last ending bit. “At Nojima’s request, we’ve included the original ending of the 20 minute movie” Okay, so you’ve kept most of it? “if we just repeated the same ending, it wouldn’t have been interesting” So there’s a new ending? Completely new? “So you might be surprised to discover the truth about the message the children are delivering from a ’special woman.” nowait, churchy ending. wtf :/

this is all considering Mako isnt bullshiting us. :monster:

Why are people freaking out? IF the interview turns out to be real, then it’s just Nomura playing head games like he always does. It wouldn’t be the first time he hinted at something that turned out to be no big deal.
