The Changes and Additions of FFVII Advent Children Complete

Besides the addition of Reno peeking out the door once after rushing Cloud and being stuck outside, Rufus’ dialogue on the nature of Kadaj’s gang and the state of the world is extended considerably. Rufus puts forth the belief that Sephiroth’s will is the cause of Geostigma, rather than mako energy, which is what the public at large believes. Furthermore, he postulates that Geostigma could lead to a much more dangerous conclusion: the revival of Sephiroth himself. Also, more scenes of the Turks escaping with the head of Jenova from the Northern Crater are shown as well.

After the scene with Tifa and Marlene entering Aerith’s church in Midgar, a new scene is included in which Reno and Rude discuss how so many Shinra Employees have returned to work post Meteorfall. Reno marvels at this, while Rude explains they all feel the need to atone for their contribution for contributing to the near destruction of the planet. They both worry and hope that Tseng and Elena are okay, but their talk is interrupted by the arrival of Kadaj, whose dark aura ominously spills past the door of Healen Lodge.

Denzel receives a call from Tifa while at Seventh Heaven stating they’ll wait for Cloud, and thinks back to how he first met him. The scene is from Case of Denzel, and shows how Denzel, whilst wandering in the remains of Midgar, finds Cloud’s bike in front of Aerith’s chruch. He finds Cloud’s phone hanging on the bike, which he uses to call his old home’s number, but he gets no reply. The scene pans to a broken picture of Denzel and – presumably – his parents. He is about to throw the phone down angrily when he notices there is a list of missed calls from 7th Heaven. He calls it out of curiosity, but hangs up when someone on the other side answers. The phone then rings, 7th Heaven calling. Denzel picks up and hears Tifa talking on the other side. The scene ends with Denzel getting an attack of Geostigma and him passing out as Cloud finds him near his bike.

After Denzel’s recollection of the past, he hears a bike outside and believes it’s Cloud returning home. However, as he steps outside, he sees Yazoo on his motorcycle driving by instead. Yazoo notices him and stops, smirking at him before speeding off again, ending the scene.
