SE Announces… FFXIII-2?

In case you haven’t been following the discussion on our forums, I’ll cut right to the chase and present you with the good (or not so good?) stuff.

It has been confirmed: there will be a direct sequel to FFXIII, and we’re not talking the Fabula Nova Crystallis spin-offs like VersusXIII and AgitoXIII. This appears to be more in the vein of FFX-2 (but hopefully a bit lower on the Charlie’s Angels scale).

In addition to the above logo, a trailer has been released that seems to show Lightning in some very Amano-inspired armor as per the image below.

I just wanted to point out, Have you seen these yet?

And SE have a new download going on PSN, Dissidia duodecim prologus, Where if you download it on psn for $3.75, You can get Aeris as an assist character when the game comes out along with it’s own short story. I saw that advertised on the site, and this too.

If this is gonna be a Improvment of X-2 kinda sequles, then I’m happy.
But still, Final Fantasy 13 was such a Good game, Happy to see a Seaquel.

Will any of the old crew of Final Fantasy XIII have anything to do with this one? It looks like Lightning might have done some time traveling or something unless Sazh, Hope, Snow and hopefully the crystalized Fang and Vanille will end up sporting similar armor.

Though this seems unlikely. It also appears that the dynamic between Lightning and this mysterious swordsman will be paramount despite the fact that Lightning was supposed to be concentrating on bringing Vanille and Fang back from crystal stasis.

Also, if she’s no longer an Il’lce (no clue how to spell that), can she still utilize magic and how? Will this explain the disappearance of the population of Pulse as well as why Pulse looks like a devastated version of the real world?
